The ultimate in airflow to noise ratio, Effizio Quiet Fans are the only fans in the industry to be designed with silence and optimal airflow in mind. Smaller, domed motor hub, larger, more dramatic fan blade sweep area, no other fans on the market come even close in performance! There might be fans that offer more airflow or lower noise levels, but when it comes to a balance between the two, these fans can't be beat, now with Japanese fluid dynamic bearings for ultra long life and reduced vibration.

  • newegg Great airflow to noise ratio The smaller motor hub and larger fan blade sweep area make the SilenX EFX-08-15T deliver less than 32 CFM airflow at a low noise level of less than 15 dBA. This case fan is perfectly balanced between performance and noise.
  • newegg Japanese fluid dynamic bearings With Japanese fluid dynamic bearings, the SilenX EFX-08-15T can run quietly while offering extended service life.

4 out of 5 eggsGood fan

Pros: Price.
Features.

Cons: Does not seem to move much air; but maybe this is an effect of where I have it placed in the case?

Other Thoughts: Minus one for weak airflow. The sensor works well, the fan pretty much only kicks on when I am gaming. It's also quite silent.

5 out of 5 eggsRE: quiet because there's no air flow

Pros: Good noice/airflow ratio. Great for cases with no thermal fan controller.

Cons: None, if heat sensitive fan is what you're looking for.

Other Thoughts: The reason the other reviewer thought this fan didn't even push 20cfm was probably because it *wasn't*. Thats because it has a thermistor, which is not just a geek gadget. As the thermistor detects warmer air, the fan will speed up. Thats the point of a thermistor, a thermal resistor. If you want the fan to operate at full speed constantly, bridge the two thermistor contacts at the base with some solder and it will run at full speed (acts as though the thermistor senses a lot of heat, leaving no resistance). Or, just buy the model of this fan *without* the thermistor. This fan is for those who want a super silent case, with fans that will automatically move more air (thus increasing noise level) as needed based on temperature. The specs given here are max speed/noise/cfm that the fan will reach. There is also another model offered by silenx with a thermister probe on a long wire, where you can place the probe on a heatsink or in an area that gets hot and you would like it to speed the fan up based on that area's temperature.

5 out of 5 eggsnot bad...

Pros: The bearings in the fan are some of the smoothest I've ever felt. And yes, it's almost completely silent. The trade off is, this fan really isn't for a gaming rig. It's more practical in an office or media PC application. Especially if you keep the PC in your bed room - no annoying hum or lights.

Cons: I don't agree with how harsh the last review was. The one egg was undeserved. But I will agree that the thermal prob is a wast of time on this type of fan. It's too low flow to even make a difference. As for the CFM rating of <32, I can't really say. All I can say is, it moves enough air for what I need it too.

Other Thoughts: When I first mounted this in my Optiplex 755 and applied power, it twitched a little and didn't start. I had to spin it with my finger to get it working. After a solid day of running, I can now turn the PC off and on, and the fan will start up with no issues. I guess it just needed some break in time.

1 out of 5 eggsquiet because there's no air flow

Pros: quiet

Cons: 32cfm? from comparison with known fans I doubt it is even 20cfm. Thermistor is geek gadget and no real value.
