Other Thoughts: I've been using silenx products since the early 2000's..beginning with their power supplies. To be honest their products didn't live up to the hype. I've also used their previous generation fans - and while satisfactory - it was not up to my expectations. The third generation fan however does. You never know until its installed due to no industry standards for sound measurement - all listed specs must be viewed with skepticsim. This one is the real deal. And at half the price of Scythe fans I was looking at I'm very pleased. I will be replacing all case fans with this product shortly. Did you find this review helpful? Pros: No LEDs Very, very quiet Cons: Maybe a tiny bit thicker than some other fans Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace the garish blue led fans in my original Antec Nine Hundred case. They fit perfectly with one exception -- The clips for the side fan don't quite close over these. That may have more to do with the case than the fan. I can't hear these over my GPU/CPU fans. Cons: i switched from 28 db fans to these fans hoping they would be even quieter than a 20db noctua fan. these things are sure loud for 12 db. Got it to match the color scheme of my In Win Buc case. Much quieter than the stock case fans. Cons: Had to pay for shipping :( The included vibration-absorbing mounts didn't really work with my case, but that was alright. The mesh grating on which I have it mounted provides enough flex to not induce vibration noise. Other Thoughts: Not really a pro or a con, and I know a lot of you are thinking "awesome, that cord is short so I wont have to do a bunch of cable management," but the cord is kinda short for my purpose. I have mine mounted on my access panel to vent heat from my video card, and I have to be careful not to remove the door too quickly, lest I yank the cord out of the mobo header. 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. I used double-sided mounting tape to attach it to the side vents, this way it sits directly above CPU and NB heat sinks.
