1 out of 5 eggsRubbish craftsmanship

Pros: Could possibly cool a HD if it wasn't built so poorly

Cons: The bracket didn't remotely fit into the 5.25 bay. (Two DVD drives have fit in there previously, so the bay's dimensions are fine.) I had to grind down the top portion of the frame's faceplate (where the fans mount) in order to fit it in enough to secure the bracket to the bay. At this price, the bracket should fit in easily.

The two fans are wired together, which sounds great until the wire on one of them cracks open. If they were separable, I'd just replace one of the fans.

Other Thoughts: Time to order more fans from Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsOK

Pros: Cooles HD. Has dust filter.

Cons: The dust filter seemed to be a little too thick. LOUD!

Other Thoughts: Works if no other options. Better to get a case that keeps the HD's cool.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Does what it advertised to do. Wish it moved more air but what more could you ask for from the baby fans that are in there... all in all it does a decent job.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: maybe make the clips that hold it into place a bit longer so its a bit more stable in a 5.25 bay.
I wonder if you used a fan controller, could you squeeze more airflow out?

4 out of 5 eggsMoves air, hard to install

Pros: Looks good, effective cooling, filter keeps out crud, panel fits 5.25 bay well.

Cons: Not at all easy to install. No instructions either. Not a major problem for me, because I'm only using it for a front-air intake device on my HAF922 case. However, if you plan to use this thing in the way it was intended, get ready for some screwdriver frustration.

Other Thoughts: I'll probably splice in an LED mod so that I know that the thing is on (hard to tell through the filter).

3 out of 5 eggsBasic bay cooling

Pros: 5.25 bay fan, Air filter, room for adding 3rd fan

Cons: low air circulation, awkward placement of hard drive mounting brackets, may not work in tool-less cases

Other Thoughts: I'm sure it's an effective product if you need to add air circulation in your case, but since it isn't full length, it will not mount in my tool-less case.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: It's made by Star Tech, which are usually decent for what you pay.

Cons: Flimsy, a hard drive mount needs to be sturdy so that it can suppress the vibration of the hard drive. There is no instruction booklet in the case or on Star Tech's website and it is not as straight forward as you would think... also loud.

Other Thoughts: Over half the comments on here are of people who "jimmy rigged" this product to get it to work.

4 out of 5 eggsNice unit

Pros: Nice unit. Fits standard 5.25" bay with no issues.

Cons: None as/of yet.

Other Thoughts: They clearly have a spot for a 3rd fan. Why wouldn't they just include a 3rd fan? or at least the screws to add the 3rd fan?

3 out of 5 eggsAlright Design, TERRIBLE installation

Pros: The fans for me are quiet. It does what it says. It moves air (although not much... not that I can tell). The screws for the two preinstalled fans only fill up 2/4 of the holes. If you add more screws, it might fix some people's problems of 'loud fans'.

Cons: It has no instructions. This thing was a nightmare to install into my case. I had to try the mounts in every way possible to actually put it in a place where air would flow around a hard drive. The hard drive mount is just 2 metal brackets, and the fan/cover is separate.
The front of mine was over 5.25", so I had to take a power sander and sand the sides down, which was a huge hassle. This thing took me about 4 hours to install.

Other Thoughts: I put some foam under one of the mounts because my case only supports screws from one side, and it hangs on the top a bit. It will make it so that the hard drive wont bang the other hanging side around while reducing vibrations.
It comes with a lot of screws. I'm adding another fan to it when I it arrives in the next shipment. Overall the product is good, but if you aren't great at putting stuff together without directions you should probably avoid this product.

Pros: Fairly good product. Very adjustable. Comes with many parts.

Cons: Fans can be loud, >30db. But they can be turned off or replaced.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks and it's Cheap

Pros: It does what it's supposed to, It's Cheap, Has a filter thats washable. What more do you want from a drive bay fan. I have 5 of these in my HAF 932 and it feeds nice cool air to my cpu cooler. It's easy to install and they run fine for the two months I have had them.

Cons: Mounting these things was a slight pain and could have been easier. it was a pain to line them up with the front of my case, so they would sit flush to the front. But it was not brain surgery, maybe adding 30 seconds to the install.

Other Thoughts: I would def buy these again for future builds or what not. It delivers as advertised and I can def feel a nice breeze coming into the case, having five installed also helps. It's a useful way of doing something with your unused drive bays.
