Pros: Very low profile had no problem fitting in my SFF case (Inwin CE685). The mating surface is very well polished from the factory, and with Arctic Silver paste I was getting temps in the high 40's during a performance benchmark with an Intel E8500 3.16Ghz for more than half an hour straight. Solid copper - looks great in the case too. Too bad my case doesn't have a window. :P

Cons: In 2015, was more expensive than the refurbished processor I used. The fan is a 70mm and very thin which is great for space but not a PWM fan. It's just a three wire. But it is quiet at least.

Other Thoughts: If you need a low profile cooler that can handle >3Ghz LGA 775 chips this is a good bet.

Pros: It works, it kept my system cool.

Cons: * No controll line. The fan shipped with ground, possitive, and negative, but no controll line.

The resulted in the fan always running.

The copper is fine, and after replacing the fan, I was happy again.

Pros: Low profile. Cools very well.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: This cooler is replacing the stock intel cooler that came with my Core 2 Duo E8400. CPU temp with stock cooler was 32c at idle and 54c at 100% load. With this new cooler idle temp is 28c and 45c at 100% load. I replaced the intel cooler because, while cleaning it, one of the four plastic tabs, that hold the cooler to the board, broke. This cooler has a steel back plate and steel screws. This cooler does not come with thermal grease applied, however, it does come with a tube of thermal grease. I didn't use the included thermal grease, I used thermaltake TG-2 grease. I'm very happy with this product!!

Pros: thin, and low profile.

Cons: it does not really fit some mobos, e.g. ASUS-P5LD2-VM.

Other Thoughts: replace the fan with a quiet 70mm case fan

Pros: Small size

Cons: Put this on a Core Duo chip in a mini-itx case and the fan runs full blast and system doesn't boot. Took it off and installed regular heatsink and system boots fine.

Pros: Can't say

Cons: This is not compatible with any mobo that has capacitors or other things around the socket that is higher than the socket itself. For this Heatsink to work the immediate area around the socket can only have surface mount components. I bought the Thermaltake version of this 1U heatsink fan and was very disappointed to see that that it won't fit on any of my LGA775 mobos that I was planning to use in supermicro 1U cases. I founbd a tyan mobo above 200 bucks that this is used for that had just surface mount resistors around the socket.

Other Thoughts: If your building a folding farm out of common desktop mobo and Quads and thinking your going to find a 1U heatsink. think again.
I ended up just cutting holes in the case tops of my supermicro 1U cases for the OEM intel heatsinks to pop their heads out of. Doesn't look quite as professional having my 1U rackmounts spaced apart but at least I'm not paying 4x the price for my mobos just to have these lousy heatsinks fit.
