XIGMATEK HDT-D1264 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler

  • 800 - 1500 RPM
  • 65.1 - 81.3 CFM
  • Aluminum Alloy
ICON Loading...

Xigmatek strives to create reliable, earth-friendly, efficient thermal solutions. Their HDT-D1264 provides cutting edge technology with a bargain price. It features 4 exposed 6mm pure copper heatpipes at its base which directly contact the CPU for highly efficient thermal transference.

These S-shaped tubes arch up to support a horizontal array of lightweight aluminum convection fins. Over 56 CFM of cooling air is blown downward through this array by the 120mm rifle bearing fan mounted at the top. The shape of the fins is designed to increase airflow across and around the fins. Anti-vibration rubber pads reduce noise levels by isolating the fan's movement from the array. PWM functionality further reduces noise levels by letting the system's BIOS monitor thermal need as well as the fan's performance and reducing its speed – and noise level – during periods of low demand

Designed for long, reliable service, the HDT-D1264 comes with a lifetime limited warranty covering parts and labor. Installation utilizes a push-pin or tool-less clip installation to support Intel Socket LGA775 CPUs as well as AMD chips utilizing AM2, 754, 939 or 940 form factors.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance Four S-shape heatpipes integrated with H.D.T. (Heatpipe Direct Touch) technology and high-density aluminum fins maximize heat transfer and dissipation. Plus a huge 120mm rifle bearing fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Easy Installation The XIGMATEK HDT-D1264 features a 3-in-1 application retention module design for easy and quick installation without additional tools or the need to remove the motherboard from your case.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The XIGMATEK HDT-D1264 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 platform.

5 out of 5 eggsStrangely impressed

Pros: This thing has kept my cpu super cool for over 2 years now. I monitor the temps all the time and it's never above 41C and usually hovers around 37-38C.

Cons: The slots for mounting it to your mobo don't allow you to rotate it 90 degrees.

Other Thoughts: I did a big no-no with heat pipe and I bent the entire structure 90 degrees upward so I could bolt the fan to a 120mm exhaust fan port on the back of my case. Miraculously, this thing still rocked! I'm sure some of the pipes are colliding on the inside but the technology still seems to work. I'm baffled.

5 out of 5 eggsStays cool like it's suppose

Pros: Keeps my Wifes AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma at a chilly 21C at idle. Haven't stress tested, but she mostly just browses the web. It looks good. Not noticeably noisy.

Cons: Large, but you knew that. Tough to install.

Other Thoughts: It barely fit when sliding it on the mobo tray into the case. The heatpipes were bent when I opened the box. I just bent them back. Very satisfied with this product.

5 out of 5 eggsLightweight, Quality Heatsink

Pros: This is a very light, yet efficient heatsink. The low total weight of the sink and fan won't make you worry about it falling off and crushing your other components.

The shape is great for my DFI motherboard since it gives me access to all 4 of the board's ram slots.

I don't have any accurate temps for the processor due the problems with the +4800 Brisbane. The case temp is around 40C. So the processor may be between 40C and 50C.

Cons: The clip was a sort of hard to get on my AM2+ motherboard

Other Thoughts: Using an X2 +4800 @ 2.9 Ghz. I am going to use this with the new PII 940.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome.

Pros: Cools down my P4 10-18 degrees cooler than my stock heatsink. (Probably because my last installation didn't have thermal compound). It's quiet...let me stress that again, it's realllyyy quiet. Structure's great, the way it's made leaves a lot of room to work underneath it: cleared the bridge heatsink by a few CMs yet isn't tall enough to be a concern when trying to fit it into most midtower cases.

Cons: As with most users who left a review, it really is a pain to install. I was considering on buying their mounting product but thought that it wasn't worth it. The push pins work but it left me an unsettling feeling when I first installed it cus one of the pins didn't go all the way in. (But it's not lopsided, it just means that you gotta focus on simultaneously pushing the pins evenly). The installation is painful enough to get one egg tossed out, sorry guys.

Other Thoughts: This is just a con for my case that's why it's here. Right now, it's really tight in my case but that's only cus I have a short midtower. My psu sits on top and the exhaust fan's only a 92mm fan. So you're definitely in the clear if you have a few mm more than.

2 out of 5 eggsAwful

Pros: Positive reviews online, quiet, 120MM fan, & cheap. Performance improves significantly with lapping.

Cons: This HSF is a pain to install and may not fit in some setups. It does NOT adequately cool the CPU out of the box.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this because it had stellar reviews online (outperforming the Big Typhoon of which it is a clone). I had very different results. This is the first time I have ever encountered a system that I had to turn off because of temperature issues (84C IDLE). I attempted cleaning, reapplying thermal compound, and remounting multiple times to no avail.

I tried lapping both the heatsink's mount point and the CPU which helped a bit. However, I was still getting superior temps from the stock AMD Phenom HSF. I will be purchasing a new, better cooler...

5 out of 5 eggsworth the money for sure

Pros: This was my first build and in doing my research i found that it was worth the money in a non-stock heatsink. My idol temp is 29-30 and it runs quiet. well worth the $xx. Might also want to look at the 1984 model.

Cons: This thing is big. It cleared everything on my MB just fine but i could see how it could be an issue. Buy a after market Thermal Compound. The stuff that come with it looks kinda shady and cheap.

Other Thoughts: you halfto get the back plate with this. It will eliminate the push pins that i hear are a real pain. the part number is N82E16835233020. It goes on the back of the Mother Board so you can screw the heat sink down instead of pushing plastic pins. This will save you time. PS follow the instructions when your putting the Thermal Compount on the processor. If it says use a small amount "the size of a grain of rice" do it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooling, but touchy

Pros: Extremely good cooling.
Running x2 7750 which normally runs a bit hot.
Idle temps at 36c
I found it fairly easy to install

Cons: Easy to unseat. Be wary of thermal paste

Other Thoughts: I moved my computer to a shelf where it usually sits and a bump must have unseated the cooler cause next thing I know my cpu is running at 114c and shutting down. I reseated the cooler and its running at 36 idle again. after market thermal compound will prolly lower that a few degrees

5 out of 5 eggsBest Air Cooler You Can Buy, Brutal To Install

Pros: You simply cannot beat its cooling culpability. I use this on an ASUS AM2/AM2+ (M3N78VM) board with a 5000+. The case is a really old Rosewill that doesn't have tremendous airflow (I'm cheap and didn't fell like spending extra on a new case) and the ambient temp is high. I was getting temps (socket temp, since it's a Brisbane) of low 40s idle and up to 69c!! running P95 for only 15 min with a coolermaster hs/fan. With the Xigmatec my temps went down to mid to low 30s @ idle and NEVER Exceeded 50C under load, even when running P95 for extended periods of time (and this is before the AS has had time to cure - in about 2 weeks should be even lower). As it is, that's a 19c drop in max load temp - can't ask for anything more than that. It's also pretty quiet... (the fan that it comes with is not moving a ton of air, but it doesn't need to. If you didn't mind more noise you could probably get this thing even colder with a better fan)

Cons: There are, unfortunately, many. First, this is by far the most difficult heatsink I have ever installed. Just by the nature of the design, you have to maneuver under the actual heatsink itself while it's on in order to get the bracket to clamp down - no easy task. The heatsink & fan are also huge - the size of a PSU literally so you better have room for it. The metal blades on the heatsink are very sharp and I have quite a few cuts on my hands after install. All of these negatives, however, were worth it and I can't give it less than 5 eggs b/c it's cooling ability is so dramatically unmatched by any other air cooling option.

Other Thoughts: I'm fairly sure the product designers got a huge laugh out of their AM2 bracket for this thing. Masochists!

Also, supplied thermal paste is .. sub optimal...so get some AS to use with this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Took my amd 9950 be from 41c idle 56c load, to 29-30c idle 40c load. I would call that doing a great job in my book

Cons: ITS HUGE, if you don't have a big case then don't bother. Unless you want to mod your case...

Other Thoughts: I would have given this a 5 if it wasn't almost the size of my psu..... I did have a few troubles installing it but it was only because I am to stubborn to take anything else out of my way once I get started...

5 out of 5 eggswell made.

Pros: 4.5 actully.

- Very light wont destoy ur board.
- heat pipe design
- packageing insures preformance.
- brings my pentuim 4 HT down to 20C-29C which get's hotter then core2duos.
- So worth the money nothing competes at this rate of 25dollars. nothing. artice coolers are not well design this is but it lacks a few things.

Cons: SCARY INSTALLATION
While the cooler was install I heard and saw 2 clips fall off and almost detroy my board. It tuke me over an hour to figure out how to install it with out makeing those clip things come from falling off.

the surface of the heatpipe direct touch isnt well lapped it will get thermal paste stuck inside it but I dont think that will cause anything

I strongly suggest read my other thoughs.

Other Thoughts: I STRONGLY SUGGEST BUYING THEIR RETENTION SCREW BRACKET! it will decrease ur temps much more.

And also buy a diffent thermal adhensive that silcon thermal Adhensive doesnt work well.
