5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: I bought a used motherboard with a aftermarket CPU from someone. I went to switch to another cooler and realized I didnt have the stock brackets. This fixed the problem.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of money

Pros: None

Cons: Did not come with all included parts. Does not allow my to mount my HDT-D1264 on my AM2 motherboard.

Other Thoughts: For a few more dollars I could have bought a new heatsink from a company other than xigmatek.

If I could give it 0 eggs I would.

2 out of 5 eggschinsy

Pros: Fits micro Atx.Biostar

Cons: Studs are too short for am2 board.most products
that you buy most allways come with assort/extra screws and such.not here.I feel ripped off.I will just have to get the same gauge screws (4) but about 1/2 inch longer.I'm not bitter, but
will not be supporting this company in the future. There is a lot of other companies out there.

1 out of 5 eggsmy cooler fell off!!!!

Pros: not now

Cons: Almost fried my CPU

Other Thoughts: Installed this on my computer in December 2011. Came in to use my system yesterday, wouldn't come on. Nothing loose or disconnected opened the case to find the cooler laying against my video card. One of the tabs holding the cooler just snapped. CPU was too hot to touch. I had to re-installed stock plastic AM3 cooler mount. I' sticking with the stock unit in the future

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Does what it is supposed to do. Is easy to install, depending on your case design or in a new installation with the motherboard out of the case.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Doesn't really do much. I got it for mainly aesthetic reasons. Moved my fan pretty close to the ram. On the first board I used it with, I had the OCZ Reapers with the heatpipe/handles on a Foxconn A79A-S and the fan would just touch the ram. New installation is on a Gigabyte 990FX UD3 with 4 G-Skill modules. No touching with the smaller heat sinks. My heat sink is a XIGMATEK 120mm direct heat pipe model.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks.. but feel ripped off.

Pros: I had no issues using this on my 990fx MB... it does leave only a 1/16 from the bracket to a capacitor, so watch your alignment and clearance. I had no issues though, and installing was a non event.

Cons: $10? Really...? -2 eggs for not giving this kit free to those who purchased a HDT-S128 HSF... It is outrageous the cost for the little cheap plastic pieces.. how much was the manufacturing cost, $.01 in China?

Other Thoughts: Well, I am mad about the price, and really feel this should have been free to those whom purchased the HSF as I did, should have been included, or a voucher/rebate for every HSF you buy from them.

2 out of 5 eggsFeatures Incorrect

Pros: Looks like a good sturdy bracket. Bolts to the motherboard nicely.

Cons: Does not work with a Retail AMD Fan.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 AMD Fans that I received with retail packages for different AM2 CPU's. In the "Features" it states that this bracket works with the AMD AM2 / AM3 / K8. The bracket is too close together to fit the AMD Fan. Otherwise it would be a great product, it looks like to me.

Newegg was great about it though, as usual.

3 out of 5 eggsNot very strong

Pros: Keep the fan in the right direction, that is, towards the case fan.

Cons: The plastic material is not very strong. I initially used fingers to tighten the screws and everything was fine. Then later I tried to use screw drive to tighten the screws a little bit more, of course the plastic cracked.

Other Thoughts: Use the metal material, it will be perfect.

3 out of 5 eggsBRACKET doesn't fit micro ATX AM2

Pros: feels and looks solid
Good support from Xigmatek

Cons: doesn't fit micro ATX motherboard AM2 socket (gigabyte in my case), Two feet of mounting BRACKET when to be mounted on the crossbow come in touch with capacitors and circuits

Other Thoughts: Thanks Xigmatek for follow up and support, unfortunately although the crossbow mount fits AM2 socket but the mounting brackets (LGA775) that come sit on crossbow need their size revised specifically for this mounting kit.
