The new Xigmatek XLF Series of 170mm system fans continues the company's innovative design focus to provide advanced features and performance while maintaining excellent value to the end user. XLF Series is created with attention and detail, and not only does it look prestige from every angle it is manufactured with impeccable performance.

The XLF Series fan comes standard with 4 white LEDs insuring your case fan to be the center of attraction.

The XLF features a high quality "Fluid Circulative Bearing" which is tested to increase its lifespan by 50%. The Fluid Circulative Bearing uses a remarkable re-circulative fluid method which enables the bearing to rotate at a high and stable revs, reaching rotations up to 2200 RPM. Unlike average bearings on the market, FCB will cancel out 98.9% friction which means in practical everyday usage this ultimately produces a near silent atmosphere (<25 dBA).

3 out of 5 eggsMake sure it works for you

Pros: Moves plenty of air. Airspeed is not high, but size of fan produces a large-diameter column of moving air.

Uses low power.

Cons: BEWARE it blows TOWARD the mounting flanges. In other words, it blows OUT if mounted on the inside of the case.. This is not what most folks want for a front fan, or a side fan. And it's too big for the back of most cases.

The mounting flanges are only on one side of the fan, so it's not reversible.

Also, my cases do not have enough space behind the front cover to place it on the outside of the case front wall.

I tried to mount it backwards inside the front wall, using long screws, but the screws interfered with the air filter. Perhaps different screws will work.

I also tried reversing air direction via the voltage polarity, using a short extension with crossed + and - lines, but it did not run, and of course the LEDs did not work.

Other Thoughts: I bought a pretty paperweight.

If the configuration fits your situation, you should be satisfied..

5 out of 5 eggsnice

Pros: first off "Cons: Moves a small amount of air. Odd size."
how can you write that as a con? you bought it knowing it was a 170mm fan..

Cons: shipped with dhl I live in pa it shipped from nj. usually I get it in 2 days at most it has been weeks this time.. DHL shipped it to Maryland first and dumped it off with usps there.. if newegg is using dhl i'm not buying any longer from here.

2 out of 5 eggsForm or function?

Pros: Well it's big.....
It's quiet.

Cons: If fan is needed to circulate air, this fails miserably.
If it's primary function is to provide a light show, then it's succeeds.
It is essentially a lighted exhaust vent guard.

Other Thoughts: Why bother with this unless you need a window dressing.

4 out of 5 eggsorange case fan

Pros: looks cool, silent, connects to motherboard directly or with 4 pin connector included. rubber spacers to prevent vibration. screws included as well

Cons: while the fan is 170mm the screw holes are either 134mm or 125mm apart (there are two sets)
also the fan seems designed to go on the outside of the case and I had bought it for a 170mm set of holes so i had to use some zip ties as screws to attach it to the inside.
also LEDs are not orange, they are white. fan is orange only.

Other Thoughts: still glad i bought it i

5 out of 5 eggsPretty cool

Pros: Well what can i say. Its big, quiet, moves air and does an overall great job at cooling a computer down.
The fan has a sleek shiny smooth look to it. Very cool.
Cheap for the efficiency.

Cons: -none noted

Other Thoughts: - i had to cut a hole in the side of my case with a reciprocating saw. Turned out real nice. A hint for all whom do this, meaning cut a hole in the side for it, use gauze as a dust filter. Just take a square piece of gauze and separate the coffee filter looking piece from the holey one. Put the holey one onto it usually takes 2 to cover it. I taped mine o-o WILL NOT block airflow, WILL block hairs and dust particulates. :) That's just my suggestion although you should feel free to buy a professional dust filter, though gauze works very very well ;) Have fun this was a very good build for me :) :p

4 out of 5 eggsGood fan

Pros: Glows Orange/White with the LED's. SILENT

Cons: Moves a small amount of air. Odd size.

Other Thoughts: This fan looks great and is totally silent, my CPU fan is louder. But it does not push as much air as I like.
I did not really care about the size, a couple of zip ties fixed the size issue.
But this works great, and the price is pretty reasonable for an Orange fan.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's big

Pros: It's got pretty LED's... Very quiet, and easy to install...after I cut a huge hole in the side panel of my box. Moves air...doesn't seem like alot, but due to it's size, it's pretty effecient.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: I bought this, just to add another fan to my box. I don't have heat issues, but Im old school, and the more air moving inside the PC...the better. This fan is virtually silent...and doesn't really blow as hard as I wish, but it actually moves alot of air, without creating a hurricane in the box.
