Our team of highly experienced thermal engineers came up with an idea of inventing a more effective process to displace heat. We call this Heat-pipe Direct Touch Technology. To achieve this innovation we needed to reinvent the entire traditional copper/aluminum heatsink base. HDT works by integrating the copper heat-pipes straight to your CPU giving a direct touch. After excessive experiments through trial and error, we are proud to announce our HDT technology produces over 10 percent more heat conductivity compared to the traditional copper heatsinks and a colossal 170-percent improvement over the aluminum heatsink most commonly found in retail coolers. This innovation will deliver up to an astronomical 45-percent in heat displacement.

Loki was envisioned with the idea of innovation - The concept was to simulate a box shape barrier which could obstruct the heat from escaping, accumulating the warmth within the fins. This concept prevents the heat from discharging to outer unwanted regions and creates a tunnel allowing the fan to perfectly thrust the air though the fins, effectively releasing unwanted heat allowing maximum thermal displacement. To ensure a stable connection for our highly competent fan, our engineers needed to reinvent the connector. Instead of using a stainless steel clip, we decided that by using a rubber fabrication it would eliminate unnecessary vibrations, ultimately delivering close to nonexistent sound.

Cooling a CPU has two major aspects, firstly the thermal displacement from the heatsink/fins and secondly the fan. Obviously the higher the RPM of the fan rotation, the more effective the heat can be driven away. Our intention was not only to design a powerful fan - we wanted to construct a fan which had an exceedingly long life expectancy. We are proud to say we accomplished this with our newly redesigned (FCB) Fluid Circulative Bearing. The FCB is not like your average bearing; it can withstand high, steady RPMs due to its re-circulative fluid, but at the same time it can cancel out friction therefore minimizing noise pollution whilst still pumping out an extraordinary 40,000 hours.

The mobo mounting system is extremely easy to install and feels more secure than any Zalman/CoolerMaster units I have used in the past. The fan mounting design is also easy to install. Perfectly flat and smooth surface on the heatsink base. Quality fan included. Cons: That this section is mandatory for all products, Newegg should make this optional as it promotes negativity. Bumber 5/12/2013 12:47:15 PM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 5/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5Rebate shmebate Pros: This is a really great cooler for a very good price, I see a lot of complaining and reducing of stars to 1 because people didn't get there rebate quickly...me I forgot to turn the rebate in and if I had turned it in I probably would have forgotten I had done it and been pleasantly suprised when it did show up. But seriously I've had this going on 2 years and it cools beautifully the price before rebate is more than reasonable. In fact I have 2 of them one in my rig and one in my wife's and have had 0.0 issues with either would recommend xigmatic to anyone. Cons: Cons...cons...it does have the possibility of overhanging a ram slot on some MOBOS which doesn't make the slot unusable but would negate the possibility of having a heatsink on that slot. As I said above I have 2 of these both work beautifully at a very very good price, can't recommend it enough Other Thoughts: While I can see that people would want the rebate that they took the time to turn in knocking a product that they know is working wonderfully down to 1 star is a bit ridiculous give it 4 if you can't bring yourself to give it a well deserved 5. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. The stock fan it comes with is halfway decent Copper piping I really like the mounting for this. I've used other coolers in other builds I've done and none of em I really liked as much as this one. Cons: I don't like the mounting of the fans. The rubber tabs could be a great idea but for cleaning purposes they are a pain to take out without bending fins. Other Thoughts: All in all it's a great little cooler. I'm running a Phenom 2 X4 965 at a 4 GHZ OC and it's idle temps are ~32C and at load running Prime95 it's maybe 50C tops on a warm day. Stock AMD 965 BE heatsink kept the system around 50C at idle and 70C under load. This unit has my system at 35C at idle and 58C under load running prime95. Impressive! Cons: None. Other Thoughts: Of course if you have your fans setup to run all out they are going to be loud. I have found a happy medium for good cooling performance without a nagging fan whine all the time. Fits nicely in my computer Able to install second fan if needed. Includes a PWM fan Cons: Requires removal of motherboard in order to install large screws Needed additional materials to make it work (see other thoughts for explanation) Other Thoughts: I had to purchase washers in order to use this product. Because I installed this in an HP Pavilion desktop with a proprietary motherboard, I was forced to use the existing backplate that was soldered into the motherboard. Luckily, the provided screws still worked, but after installing the included "washers" I had difficulty installing the cooler. So I instead used washers to create the desired height. So after all was said and done, I am satisfied since I was able to replace the stock heatsink in my computer. My computer runs much cooler now thanks to this cooler. Did you find this review helpful? Built my computer back in 2011 and it still runs. Simple design. Easy to clean with compressed co2 and vacuum in periods of cleaning/maintenance. Installation was smooth onto the motherboard.
