5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: I picked this CPU cooler because it was priced very reasonably and looked like it would work fairly well. Now two years later, I can say it has worked great.

Ran this with my AMD Phenom II unlocked to 4 cores and overclocked to 3.8ghz at times. I have never once reached a temperature that was anything I would worry about. In fact, it kept my CPU close to temps that are seen during normal use.

Cons: No real cons that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I am not a hardcore overclocker, but these are the conditions I have noticed while gaming with games that are very CPU intensive (such as GTA IV) for at least an hour at a time.

I have done a few benchmark tools that run the CPU at 100%, but that was more to see how stable my system was when I first got it, so only performed a few times long ago. CPU remained well within tolerable temps during those runs though, so I would expect it would do the same if I were to try it again.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Love it. Yes it is massive, but most of them are. If you don't have a decent sized case...measure. If this will fit in your system, get it. Especially if you are like me and were running an AMD processor on a stock CPU cooler that would NOT keep it cool. I put this bad boy in there, and my problems are long gone.

Cons: None really, yeah it is huge but it fit in my case, and if it fits in yours then you won't have any cons either.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke after a few months

Pros: Quiet, worked well until it broke.

Cons: After a few months of use, it started to make a loud noise. A few weeks after that started happening it feel off it's barrings, I was able to put it back on but that very annoying noise was still there. I tried contacting the manufacturer about getting a replacement twice and never got a response.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for LGA 775

Pros: Does its job.

Cons: Does not fit LGA-775. Have to buy separate mounting.

5 out of 5 eggsStock Black Edition Vs This = Read On

Pros: -Great price
-Fast shipment
-Efficient cooling
-Very silent!
-Socket AM2/AM2+/AM3 compatible out of the box

Cons: -Behemoth in size
-Installation
-Doesn't align itself dead center on CPU without some work
-Blocks two of the four memory slots in GA-MA785G-UD3H

Other Thoughts: I've read all the reviews in regard to it's size and somewhat problematic installation. I managed to install the whole thing without needing to remove my motherboard or anything else at that but it did take me alot more work and carefulness, more like patience not a common virtue. Beyond that it did block two RAM slots of my GA-MA785G-UD3H motherboard. You will need a case which is mid to full size or that is very wide in order for it to fit perfect, my case is a: COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower and it fits just barely without hitting the side panel. I installed it to better cool a AMD Phenom X4 Black Edition, the stock cooler wasn't cutting it and it's hot in my household and this beast actually SIGNIFICANTLY lowered my temps, but here's the thing. I didn't use the included thermal paste, I used my ArcticSilver 5 thermal paste instead, maybe thats why not everyone is getting good results in cooling. >30C Minimum load to >54 Max on full load. before, 60< C !

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's very quiet. My old fan was so loud that I had to put my computer in the closet so I could sleep at night. This fan is as quiet as they say and it is keeping my 3.2 Ghz CPU at 48C at 3.6 Ghz while running Prime 95's stress test

Cons: Nothing.. It's doing what I wanted it to do

4 out of 5 eggsWatch case width

Pros: Great cooler, using on AMD quad-core, very quiet.

Cons: Bought it to replace noisy AMD stock heatsink and fan. Case was std. ATX, but only 6.75" wide. Heatsink would not fit without making hole in the side of the case. Had to swap all components between this case and another I had that was 7.25" wide. If there was a caution somewhere about case width, I missed it.

Other Thoughts: Otherwise a good, quiet system.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good for the price

Pros: Very good cooling capabilities, have my amd3 CPU running at 3.8ghz and running at 34-40 degrees consistently. Happy so far.

Cons: Fairly annoying to put on if you dont have lots of case space.

Other Thoughts: VERY TALL, make sure ur case has enough space to fit it.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works..

Pros: It cools better than a stock cooler

Cons: HUGE, This thing is approximately 4 times the size of a stock AMD cooler with the double heat pipe.

Other Thoughts: It only dropped my idle temps from 31-32 to 27-30c over the stock AMD Cooler. For its size I don't feel that it works well enough.

5 out of 5 eggsBig, cool and quiet

Pros: Bought it to replace my 5 year old Thermaltake Big Typhoon. I loved that CPU Cooler. Dead silent and kept everything nice and chilly. If I could have used it on my new build I would have, so I was worried that any new cooler couldn't live up to my expectations. This one did. Quieter than my hard drives. Mounted easily and solid on my AM3 board with no extra hardware. I think it looks heavier than it really is, because I haven't really noticed any flexing or anything on the motherboard. My AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition idles at about 34 degrees and I've never seen it over 44 degrees yet, even when transcoding HD video with all 4 cores. I'm not an overclocker, but this thing could convince me to try.

Cons: The fins interfere with DIMM slot 1 of my ASUS M4A87TD EVO when I use G-Skill RipJaw memory. There's not enough clearance for the RipJaw heat sinks on the top of the memory. Memory without the "gimmick" would probably fit fine.

Other Thoughts: Quirky design with the rubber mounts between the fan and the heat sink. Took a minute to figure out, but works well.
