5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Cooler

Pros: Amazing cooling, amazingly quiet. I have an i5-2500K o/c to 4.3 GHz. I put this in replacing a Coolit Eco ALC (liquid cooler). The computer is far quieter now, and running Prime 95, the core temps never went over 65 C.

I did add a second fan, which I had lying around. This may have helped its amazing cooling prowess.

Cons: It only comes with one fan.

It is rather large, so make sure your dimensions are okay before ordering.

Xigmatek's rubber fan mounts are not the best.

Other Thoughts: It would be great if Xigmatek included two of their amazing 14 CM fans (see http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233092) - these fans are amazingly powerful and quiet.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT compatible with LGA2011

Pros: Lovely construction -- looks well built
Right size for my new I7-3930k

Cons: NOT compatible with LGA 2011

Other Thoughts: Upon arrival, the box did not have New Egg's stated LGA 2011 compatibility marked on it. Sure enough, when I went to the manufacturer's website for LGA 2011 instructions, though 2011 instructions were there, it pointed to the use of standoffs/brackets/screws that were not in my package.

Apparently -- as with many other "LGA2011 ready" coolers (check the forums on this) -- it is the right size/specs to support 2011 hardware but the manufacturers didn't put the 2011 hardware in the box. In this case, New Egg didn't bother to tell me that.

So, in a nutshell, I can't mount it. A return is imminent.

New Egg, I understand that some manufacturers don't offer new SKUs for these small changes (leaving two versions of the same SKU on the shelf), but these changes *matter* to your customers. If you get the newer version in with the right hardware, do us a solid and clean out the old inventory or find a way in your system to specify which version is which. You cost me a week I'd like ba

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cools pretty well!
Good if you want a heatsink with some puzzle action.

Cons: Its very large and with the fan mounted on one side it gets in the way of the ram on the motherboard. Had to mount on the opposite side. The fan is a bit weaksauce, it would be a better idea to replace it with one that produces more flow.

Installing took longer than I wanted it to. That was mostly do to the pretty bad instructions which did not state how to tighten the bolts. I spent a good amount of time just trying to build the mount. Mounting this thing was the hardest feat of any heatsink I ever owned. If you tighten the bolts on this thing before you put on the heatsink on the bolts you will not be able to get the bolt close enough to tighten it without extreme pressure.

4 out of 5 eggsDescent CPU cooler

Pros: Descent cooler that has a relatively quiet fan. Looks snazzy.

Cons: Massive in size. Directions are poor and give no advice on tightening. Base isn't perfectly flat but it does keep overclocked 2600k relatively cool. Ran Prime95 for 1hr 4.5Ghz @71*C on hottest core(ambient temp 22*C) . Can't overclock much more than that or it'll hit 80*C. My case has 3 fans.

Other Thoughts: Only recc'd for ATX+ size boards due to it's size. I got better temps turning the fan backwards thus extracting air from the fins rather than blowing into them. 5-7*C cooler on average! This faces the chrome fins towards the cooler(unprotected fin side)
I think you could achieve much better cooling if a faster yet efficient fan is used. This fan is efficient but spins relatively slow and is actually too big for cooler which IMO hinders flow from between the fins.
