4 out of 5 eggsQuiet and decent air flow

This review is from: XIGMATEK FCB (Fluid Circulative Bearing) Cooling System XOF-F12525 120mm Lime Green Case Fan 2-Pack

Pros: These fans have pretty decent airflow for the price and speed of the fans. Even plugged into my fan controllers on high, these fans run fairly quiet. They also look cool.

Cons: For the price you're paying there are none.

Other Thoughts: The design of the fan makes where they can be installed a bit limited unless you're wanting to go out and buy machine screws and knuts. Fortunately I had a couple of these lying around to mount one as a secondary radiator fan.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: XIGMATEK FCB (Fluid Circulative Bearing) Cooling System XOF-F12525 120mm Lime Green Case Fan 2-Pack

Pros: Sturdy, great price, moves lots of air, quiet, Great improvement over the conair case fans.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: After exhaustive research and checking the Newegg's large selection of case fans, I could not be more pleased with these. These fans are great and meet all my requirements of air flow, noise and price. I would highly recommend as they have lowered the temperature of my computer 5 degrees with far less noise than the original case fans.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent.

This review is from: XIGMATEK FCB (Fluid Circulative Bearing) Cooling System XOF-F12525 120mm Lime Green Case Fan 2-Pack

Pros: These were on a huge sale at Newegg when I bought them. I had a horizontally mounted fan go out in my NAS, and with the sale price, I figured even if these didn't work at all, it was no big deal, so I'd give them a shot. I'm glad I did! They are quite quiet, move a moderate amount of air given the low RPMs, and I can't complain. Would buy again in any spot where a very high performance is not crucial.

So far, they're working well mounted horizontally. If you turn the fan on, outside of a case, and move it to various orientations while it's on, there appears to be no orientation that causes any particular vibration of noise that concerns me.

Seems like a well made, cheaper, fan. The fluid bearing is doing a good job.

Cons: They're quiet, but to my thinking, they're not as quiet as advertised. 14dBA (an obscenely low noise level) is the claim. I have a good handle on what 14dBA should sound like, and this seems like more. But not much more. Both fans together, operating in your box, will be audible in the room at full RPM. They're quite quiet, but to me, the 14dBA claim seems a bit optimistic.

It's so hard to get a grip on how much CFM is really flowing, because in this regard, the way one fan moves air can feel so much different than another, but I am pretty sure a scientific analysis of the CFM would show that this fan moves somewhat less air than claimed.

Other Thoughts: Your mileage may vary. My two fans were different. Physically different. Both were green, but in one, the central hub had a wider radius than the other by about 5mm, meaning the blades were somewhat shorter, presumably. AND, furthermore, the sleeving on the cables were different. One had a nice, loose, black meshy sleeve. The other had a more rigid, thick, (black) hose-like sheath. Either way, they were "sleeved". But the two fans only had two common points: Green blades, and the outer housing was the same. Definitely the moving parts were different, and the sleeving was different. The box inside the 2-for-1 package even looked different, even though it showed the same SKU. Weird.

Air flow and noise level seemed comparable between the two.

For the price I paid, I am satisfied, assuming they last for a reasonable lifetime. But at full price, I'd have not been as happy--barely adequate at the full price.

As I said above, the claims about the CFM and ambient noise level seem just a shade optimistic. The fan is slightly noisier than I expected (though it is still most certainly "quiet"), and, I think, probably moves somewhat less air than claimed.

As others have said, the fan really only mounts in the exhaust (blowing "out") configuration, because only the one side receives the screws. Seems like a preposterous thing--I wonder what the heck reason they had for that.

5 out of 5 eggsXOF-F1252's

This review is from: XIGMATEK FCB (Fluid Circulative Bearing) Cooling System XOF-F12525 120mm Lime Green Case Fan 2-Pack

Pros: First try on this brand, a bullseye buy. High quality fans. One should note that these are strictly exhaust fans, look at the mounting screw holes.

Very smooth running fans. Your ear must be within 6" to barley hear them. Quality of materials and workmanship is on the high end.

The cable is round 'shielded' type, nice touch. Come with 3-pin + molex. I use the , letting them rip as fast as they can, can't hear them, Quiet.

Got the lime green ones. Use to the plain black typical fan color, wasn't sure if I'd be into color or not, but a nice touch. Too bad I'll never see the color, it's in the rear :(

Previous to these Ximgas, got the Ximga 4-pack XFS-F1252's. The F1252's do intake and exhaust, excellent value and performance. The latter are your standard black fan and come with a 3 pin only, no molex. Got both versions here when Newegg ran a sale recently. Even at reg. price they are an excellent buy.

In the fan dep't. will look at XIGMA brand offerings first, next time around. Thanks Newegg, the sale drew me to try these out. Well worth the effort...

Cons: What color to choose? Wow, now that's not fair, what a con! Way too quiet...That's a con?

Other Thoughts: I think these fans will last a long time, I can feel the quality build in these XIMGA's. I usually wait before posting a review, letting a product prove its worth, but been running them 24/7 no complaints at all.

(Too bad I couldn't use 2 fans on the top exhaust in a new TT Urban 31 new-build chassis, but that's TT's problem of poor engineering. TT put crossbars where the fans mount. The fan blades hit the crossbars. Had to use the XFS-F1252's instead. The XOF's would've been the perfect solution. The reason I got 'em is for exhaust application! But that's another story...)
