5 out of 5 eggsexcellent cooler

Pros: first off I will say that prolimatech doesn't get the credit they deserve, that said this is an excellent cooler. no idea why it still doesn't get any attention!

built a friend a pc will this cooling an i5 haswell 4670k, not yet overclocked. this cooler keeps it below 20c on idle and small loads, 20-30 ish on moderate to heavy loads, AND THIS IS RUNNING WITH THE COOLER FANLESS.

Cons: this will have issues fitting in a number of cases, its huge, but with good reason.

because the cooler is so wide, theres a good chance that it can/will block the first slot on your board, luckily it was only blocking an x1 slot for me. so be weary of that.

Other Thoughts: like I said this cooler is working without any fans attached to it, just fans on the case and thats it. can't say enough about it, it a beautiful piece and if you do a little research on your board, have a roomy case along with a little patience for it, its more then worth it.

used to have this cooler on my pc (core 2 quad), but when I overhauled it and got a new build because of the socket placement (jump from 775 to 1150, yeah) I was out of luck because of my case being too cramped. need to get one when do I do another overhaul which is around the corner.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than Expected

Pros: This is a continualtion of my first review.
I have had time to experience the cooling capabilities of the heatsink and I must say I am surprised. I am running a FX-8350 (AMD 8 core processor) which native runs at 4 Ghz. I overclocked each core to 4.51 Ghz and under load the processor has peaked at only 38 degrees celcius.

Cons: The negative mentioned in my first review still stand but instead of 3 eggs, the cooling peformance make that issue ignorable.

3 out of 5 eggsInitial Inspection

Pros: - Space for three fans.
- Look good when trying to stay with a particular color scheme.
- Nickle Plated Copper heat pipes look nice.
- Heavy duty mother board mounting hardware.

Cons: For how fancy this heatsink is, I was disapointed to see that the surface which contacts the processor was not machined to a smooth surface. You can tell it was machined usinf and end mill. The manufacturer should have taken the time to smoothen the surface. The less direct metal to metal contact you have the less efficiently heat will transfer from the CPU to the Heatsink.

I hope this will not too dramatically decrease its cooling capability.

They advertise that three fans can be mounted, but the mounting hardware for the fans are cheap. Also, I am using three 120mm fans on the heatsink, but only two of the mounting wire brackes work with 120mm fans. That was a little agrivating.

They need to have three wires for 120mm fans and three for 140mm. The added manufacturing cost would be very small.

Other Thoughts: I have not had a chance to fully test it's cooling efficiency so I will post another review when I can see how well it actually cools.
