1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Moves lots of air...

Cons: the expense of lots of noise. I was under the impression this fan would be really nice. I was looking for a shallow 140mm to fit in a 120mm space, be quiet and move some air. It sure failed at the noise part. I thought perhaps it was because of moving air thru the grill, but I held the fan up in open air, no obstructions and at full speed, 12v, was just as loud.

Very disappointed in this fan. I have it in my pc parts boneyard box. Basically these will eventually be thrown away or reused as spacers for other fans in my cases.

Other Thoughts: Don't know if I received a defective one, but I have tried using it in several scenarios, just doesn't work. I would not recommend this fan.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good fan

Pros: Low profile fan that moves a lot of air. I am using this fan as an exhaust in the top of my case and it pushes a ton of air while being nearly silent!

Cons: Would have been nice to have an arrow indicating air flow direction. Fortunately I got lucky and mounted it correctly the first time.

4 out of 5 eggsGood thin fans, could be faster

Pros: Two of these fans fit my Armageddon heat sink perfectly in a push/pull configuration, using the add-on clips (purchased separately) from the manufacturer.

The temps are nice and steady under heavy load.

Cons: Peak RPM between 1,100 and 1,200. I wish I had picked up faster fans in a small profile like this.

Other Thoughts: Antec 902 case
Rampage 2 Gene motherboard
Armageddon heat sink

1 out of 5 eggsOver rated air flow

Pros: Slim if you need it.

Cons: I think the airflow is over-stated. I had two of these and two other fans rated at 89.55 CFM. I had one each mounted side by side in an intake position and an exhaust position. In both cases you could feel with your hand that the other fan was moving a lot more air. I would say at least 25% more. The pressure spec. is actually quite low.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fans

Pros: I'm using these in a push / pull configuration on my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. They fit great and cover 95% of the cooler fins. They move a lot of air and have given me the opportunity to OC my i7 960 to 4200 on air.
The fans are pretty light too which is good in this application.

Cons: I ran two 120mm Cooler Master fans on the 212 Evo for a bit and think I was getting a little better cooling. However, these fans work great and did not fit as a replacement for the 120mm case fans so I've kept them on the heat sink.

Other Thoughts: These fans are pretty quiet for the work they do. They are not the high RPM fan that a 120mm is so they will be quieter.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't but this fan yet..

Pros: Fan looks pretty cool...

Cons: If you but this fan for anything other that a case fan (like Megahalems, Genisis, MK-26, etc) , you have to but special clips for these fans. Prolimatech only recommends one place to get them and the cost of shipping alone is $10, so you pay $15 for a $3 pair of clips. Newegg does not carry them. BE WARNED.

4 out of 5 eggsNot silent, one has a vibration

Pros: They push more air than most fans at the decibel rating.

Cons: Seem weak with a filter installed. Definitely not getting anywhere near 98CFM. Not meant to be used with a filter.

Other Thoughts: Better as an unobstructed exhaust fan. Filters kill their airflow.

2 out of 5 eggsI am a bit disappointed, i had some high hopes

Pros: It is thin and functional

when unrestricted it does move some nice air

mounts to the more common 120mm form factor (be sure you have clearance for 140mm)

looks fancy

ball bearing so it can be mounted horizontally unlike sleeve bearing

pretty quiet, but i wanted comparable airflow to other fans

It is a 4pin PWM fan, so you want have issues with unknown fan speeds like you can with low RPM 3 pin fans

Cons: I put this on my hyper 212 evo cause i wanted a quieter fan, stock fan runs it as 54C max (85% RPM), this fan runs it as 58C max (90% RPM) Phenom II are knows to loose stability at temps over 55C, i think mine is good at 58C, but that is not the point

and idle temps after full load are about 5C higher with this fan compared to the stock one

My motherboard (ASUS M4A79XTD EVO) complains about this fan cause of the low RPMs

fair amount of vibration at 100%, really needs rubber/silicon mounts for that speed

only available in 1 color, white fan blades would match my case better and blue would go with my motherboard

The sleeved cable feels like it has a coat of grease on it

for $20 i expected the same temps +/- 1C and 1/2 the noise

much louder than my 18.5 dBA fractal fans at 100%, i can hear 1 of these over 4 of them (all fans at 100%)
however the sound it not the motor it is the sound of air be forced through a filter and stuff

so let me get this strait, you are going to sell a fan for $20 and you are not including rubber mounts, sleeved accessories, or even back fan screws. seriously silver fan screws, the least you can do is black fan screws.

the cable is a little short for some usages (~9.5 inches)

Other Thoughts: CPU is a Phenom II x4 965 OCed at 4.2GHz with a vcore of 1.5125
max temp is with prime running >20min

the one i put in the bottom of the case does good enough, it gets a little air to me GPU since i don't have a side fan thanks to my window and this happens to the the ONLY 140mm slim fan and i was lucky enough for it to not have a sleeve bearing. i added a 120mm fan grill to make sure nothing falls into it, not like you are going to find a 140mm grill that works on a 120mm mount easily if at all

Starting voltage is a little over 5V

This is the only slim 140mm fan on the market

maybe it will preform better with a custom made shroud to force 100% of its air into the heat sync

due do the cables on my modular PSU this is the only 140m fan i can fit in the bottom of my case

This fan is sold as 98CFM the stock fan on my Hyper 212 EVO is listed as 82.9 CFM
so this fan should move 1.428 CMF per sq. CM while the stock fan moves 1.447 CFM per sq. CM (CFM/Size)

i bought 2 of these 1 for the bottom of my case and one for the CPU cooler

if i can find a way to make a shroud for this fan and it makes a noticeable difference i will post another review, but if you are expecting a drop in upgrade for a 120mm cpu cooler you may want to keep looking, especially if you like to overclock

until i can make a shroud or something i will use my stock CPU fan

between the restocking fee ant return shipping i would only get about 1/2 the cost back or one of the fans, so i am not going to do that, and hope a shroud will some the issue i have with this fan. it feels like most of the air is blown at the outer 1CM of the blades (based to the shapes it looked like the middle 1 CM of the blades would do that), so in theory the shroud shroud solve the issue.
there is a 120mm version of this fan, but it is not as impressive on paper and newegg does not have it.

i did mention rubber fan mounts, if you go and buy some, they are a PITA to install, probably not worth the effort/frustration/money to buy them

i can't sit in my chair cause my fat lazy cat stole it

Took 2 eggs off cause i expected better airflow when filtered (still good enough), better CPU temps, skipping on accessors, and price.
almost took 3 off

5 out of 5 eggsSick looking, does the job!

Pros: Sick looking, fits in most 120mm spaces.
Very quiet, decent quality, moves a decent amount of air for the noise level.

Cons: Costs a bit more than basic fans, but it is a specialty item after all. Please note it fits in *MOST* 120mm spaces. Your mileage may vary. Think of it this way, if you have room for a 140mm fan, and only have 120mm mounting holes, this will fit just fine, else, your out of luck...

5 out of 5 eggsworth every penny

Pros: It's quiet even at full speed, considering the volume of air it moves, thin, and although I haven't had it long, seems like it will last. One of it's selling points is high static pressure, and I thought this was just marketing speak, but this is the first fan I've owned where I can actually feel suction on my hand on the intake side.

Cons: none so far
