EVGA M020-00-000234 Superclock CPU Cooler

  • 750 - 2500 RPM

  • Aluminum & Copper

The EVGA Superclock CPU Cooler was built to perform with 5 8mm heatpipes that are arranged to receive maximum airflow; direct-touch base technology provides excellent thermal transfers. The wind tunnel fin design ensures optimal air-flow and more. The center section of the fins form an enclosure in front of the fan hub where air flow is at its lowest, and the edges of the fins are closed. This creates two wind tunnels that maximize airflow around the heatpipes. And of course, the full sleek black look and PWM controlled red LED fan are the perfect match for any EVGA gaming rig!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Heatsink

Pros: Have had this for close to 2 years, never had any problems. easy way is to install on your board right off, didnt like the red led, so went with a 120x25 delta fan 150 cfm when at idle is about 17.5 - 19.0 on a overclocked fx 6300 @ 4 gigs just wish they still had these available

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If i could i would buy a few more

5 out of 5 eggsLe Super Duper Clock

Pros: It keeps my AMD FX6100 OC'D to 3.96 Ghz Running cool in all Tyoes of weather. Even in hot summer weather. Over 80 degrees ambient temp with my AC on. Even when I have My Msi Twin Frozr iii R7950 Cranking on Dirt 3.I may have just barely reached 900 -910 rpm's a few times. I know this Heatsink setup will handle 4.4 Ghz with my Fx chip and it would not surprize me at all if it went to 5Ghz without a real strain on it.

Cons: No cons, just be patient with assembly and make sure you calculate the fit before you buy it. Mine had very little room to spare. I hsve a Thermaltake Amd logo V3 Mid tower. I also had to use 12mm wide Scythe fans for the top Exhaust.

Other Thoughts: My Motherboard is a Biostar TA990FXE AM3+. For what it's worth and judt about everything in my build is from the EGG.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -love the black
-good cooling
-Dropped my temps to constant 56°c at full load around 30% fan at 4.0ghz (i5 3570k.) Before I would see it spike into the low 80°c's at stock speed.
-Thermal paste it came with seems to be of pretty good quality, though I wouldn't mind seeing what AS-5 does to it
-Comes with extremely detailed installation instructions (in about 8 different languages) even though it's pretty self explanatory.

Cons: -First one I got came banged up seemingly from the factory but newegg rma'd it with no problem at all. Extremely happy with them.
-Can't use my first DIMM slot on asrock extreme4 z77 with G.Skill sniper without having the fan sit high on the cooler. No biggie, just swapped the slots and still have dual channel.
-No way to mount a push-pull setup to this cooler.

Other Thoughts: When I went to write this review Newegg shows it as discontinued, so I'm not really sure how helpful this will be.
I really wish I could give Newegg some rating here for a very easy and fast replacement process. 10 eggs to you!
At lower fan speeds, it's as quiet as the rest of my PC, but I imagine a good fan would make it even better.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler

Pros: Runs an AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) clocked at 3.95GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) full load and teh CPU barely breaks 35C°. I love this CPU cooler.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsNice and cool

Pros: Works good! looks nice, got the red fan and the LED is nice. over a year and still kicking!

Cons: Fan clips are a little cumbersome but not a bad design at all, just not my preference. dont let that deter buying, it works very well and keeps temps down

Other Thoughts: Built a PC with this a year+ ago and still working good

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

Pros: Great cooler, My FX-6200 Zambezi 3.8GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) has never gone past 41 degrees at stock and overclocked.

Cons: I can't face it up to vent out the top of my case.

Other Thoughts: Would be nice to have the option to point this at the top of my case rather then the back for superior case cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsBest CPU Cooler I found

Pros: This cooler is great. My old Intel stock cooler kept my Intel core i7 1156 processor around 50 degrees celcius. As soon as I install this cooler the temperature drop 25 degrees. Even with a full load it doesn't go over 40 degrees. I had bad experiences with liquid coolers in which I lost two $300 motherboards. That is why I decided to go back to the air coolers. This is the best cooler I ever purchased.

Cons: A little loud but I can deal with that. When you install it be sure to find the right angle so that it will not be a problem when installing memory because in some angles it will be really close to the memory modules.

Other Thoughts: Best CPU air cooler I ever purchased

1 out of 5 eggspoor performer

Pros: I decided to to an air cooled rig due to an upcoming move. Using an SRX and two E2640's...I was always at 45 degreed celscius even at idle. Wnet to (2) Noctuas instead whilst caselabs builds my case

Cons: Loud Fan, Poor thermal compound and por performance.

Other Thoughts: EVGA needs to put more R&D. The EVGA SR2 was a huge sucess and so are their video cards however this years new offerings are short changed

3 out of 5 eggsToo bulky

Pros: Definitely cools and keeps temps under 40c at high loads.

Cons: Way too bulky. It takes up one of my Ram slots. If I ever want to add more ram I'll have to replace the heat sink.

Other Thoughts: Makes sure you have enough clearance between the cpu slot and the ram slots before buying.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

If you are having trouble mounting your ram I would suggest you rotate the entire heatsink 90 degrees or purchase low profile ram.
