5 out of 5 eggsFits and works Great

Pros: Have it on my Gigabyte G1 board, works great and looks great with my build. The majority of negative reviews is people don't understand the mounting.

Cons: No instructions on mounting but it is the same as some of the stock Intel heatsinks.

Other Thoughts: Mounting, just have to look at the arrows on the push pins and use some common sense it works no problem. Instructions could help tho

1 out of 5 eggsBelieve These Negative Reviews

Pros: - Not super huge

Cons: - Non functional mounting pins

Other Thoughts: Went against what the reviews were saying and gave this EVGA CPU cooler a shot myself figured it would be just as easy as putting in a stock Intel CPU cooler which has a similar mounting mechanism with push pins. After an hour installing the EVGA CPU cooler I could not get all four of the mounting push pins to fit securely into the motherboard. Went ahead and started my PC and sure enough the CPU fan was getting louder and louder. I went into BIOS and saw that the CPU was about to overheat. Had to take out the EVGA CPU cooler after which point I put the Intel stock cooler back in for now. Returned the EVGA CPU cooler.

This product should NOT be sold at this point, it needs to be recalled and the mounting mechanism re-worked.

1 out of 5 eggsClips are Terrible

Pros: Could not find any pros because never got it working.

Cons: Excited to install this pretty cool looking heatsink, however, two of the clips would not lock in at all. The other two clips worked fine, but the other two came broken. I have used similiar clips to these in the past and have never had such a bad experience. When I order this product, I had read the reviews about the horrible installation and the clips; I decided to give it a try anyway. What a mistake. Biggest waste of $50 I've spent this year.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsNice little cooler

Pros: Cools well, all black looks nice, pushpin install so no need to remove the mobo to install a bracket

Cons: The fan isn't the quietest but I honestly wouldn't call it disruptive or annoying, but you can hear it when it ramps up but only if my case fans are low. If I turn them up it all sounds the same.

2 out of 5 eggsInstallation was a bit of a chore

Pros: - Looks nice
- Fits well with mITX board which it was designed for

Cons: - Cheap plastic tabs to hold heatsink in place, no better than a stock heatsink coming with a processor
- Installation was a hassle

Other Thoughts: i repair old PC's all day as part of my current job and the cheap plastic tabs that hold this heatsink in place were disappointing. one, because of $50 price they are charging and two, because it reminds me of a stock heatsink that comes with intel processor for the old PC's i repair. i honestly expected a lot more. the plastic material didn't match on one of the tabs either. so three of the feet were a solid white plastic and a fourth foot was a different kind of clear plastic. i'm not a beginner at installing heatsinks with this kind of attachment to the motherboard so i know what i'm doing and its rarely been this difficult. when i would latch one of the tabs down, another one would pop out of place so i had to go around many times to make sure they were all securely fastened and i still dont feel like they are. again, for $50 i expected a lot better quality or maybe this one slipped through QC and i happened to get a bad one. i was installing this on a new Z87 EVGA Stinger and i felt like i was going to break the thing trying to get this heatsink to do what it should be doing without this much trouble.

overall, i think i would have had a very positive review it wasn't for this issue. maybe you'll have a better experience if you buy this and i certainly hope so, but take a bit of caution with your purchase and shop around first before you settle on this one.

1 out of 5 eggsRage quit

Pros: Heatink is solid, and fan is great.

Cons: The retention clips are complete garbage. Granted the snap in retention clips for intel processors are all garbage, these are exceptionally bad. I put them in the lock position and tried to install it one time and half the clip broke off on 2 out of 4 of the arms. Even the junky intel ones that came with the processor have visibly sturdier clips.

4 out of 5 eggsBit of a pain, but it works well (help with installing in Cons)

Pros: It does a great job of keeping the cpu cool at the expense of noise (its not that bad).

Cons: The pins are hard to get in because the manual is just absolute trash. You have to push the arrow`s in, then push them through. After this you gotta push the arrows the other way than the one shown to lock them in. Also you can sway the fan slightly to get at the pins covered by the fan, which is nice

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Cooler

Pros: The temp hasn't gone over 50C when gaming and it fits perfectly in my Hadron case.

Cons: The mounting clips are a bit tricky to figure out and it takes a little bit of patience to get them secured. The clips feel kind of cheap. The directions were useless.

Other Thoughts: Idle temps are about 45C and about 48C when gaming (I was gaming @1080P/Lowest settings on BF4 while I'm waiting on my GPU to come in).

1 out of 5 eggsRandall P.

Pros: Fits LGA1150, Puys out good airflow.

Cons: I don't care what anybody says the installation is hard and cheap like a lot of the fans out there.
Corsair Dominator memory is too tall for clearance of the Noctua 14S. If you have that memory don't buy this fan.
I threw the EVGA in the trash along with intels' fan.

Other Thoughts: Get a Noctua 14S. Face it toward the bottom of the board /case. The mounting is ultra secure and easy as is possible. Highly recommended. The absolute best. I love this setup. The packaging is the best in the field.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Randall P,

We do appreciate the feedback and concerns in terms of our mITX CPU cooler. Our mITX CPU cooler was designed with the mITX builds in mind. It is a smaller cooler compared to its bigger counterpart the ACX CPU Cooler. EVGA does offer 24 hour Presales Support by phone 1.888.881.3842 and pressing option 3 or by email Newegg@EVGA.com to assist with any questions or concerns, before purchasing a product

Sincerely,
EVGA Customer Support
