5 out of 5 eggsPerfect fit for CoolerMaster HAF 930

Pros: Quiet, seems to work well, no problems installing it.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I just needed a 230mm fan to replace the failing one in my CoolerMaster HAF 930 and this is the perfect fit.

2 out of 5 eggs230mm Fan

Pros: Quiet

Cons: The fan blades measure 230mm, but the frame around the blades are too thick and did not fit into my full size case without modification.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Quite

Pros: Got this for a reciever that was in a small space and heating up. The fan is so quite at 9 volts I have to look to see if it is on. Keeps the reciever cool.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: VERY Quite...I was a little worried that I would be able to hear it when watching TV but I can barely hear it when my ear is right next to it.

5 out of 5 eggsPreliminary review

Pros: I need fans for a 420mm x 420mm (approximate) radiator and have the choice of using either nine 140mm fans/side versus four 230mm fans per side. I intend to use a push pull configuration which doubles the number of fans (hence pushing the fan cost up). Since larger fans are not substantially more expensive than smaller fans there can be a considerable cost advantage to using larger fans for a given area. This particular fan has very satisfactory specifications and is priced attractively for my needs.

I have preliminarily tested one fan in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The labeling indicates that the fans are rated to run between 10.8 to 13.2 volts. The tested fan would not start on 5v but readily started at 7v and of course at 12v. So that is better than the rating. The one I tried was essentially inaudible at 7v, . It was nearly as quiet at 12v. The air flow at 7v still seems adequate. If all the fans are as quiet as this fan is, I may simply run them all at 12v though.

I have tentatively installed this one fan as a top fan in my system. It seems to do well in this position. I have not received the radiator yet, but at this stage, these fans seem very likely to meet my goals. When I get the system completely running I'll publish a reprise evaluation.

Bottom line, if you need 230mm fans these are very decent and at a reasonable price.

Cons: It would have been helpful for the package to include a molex adapter.

Other Thoughts: No doubt eight LED fans would provide interesting visuals but I am not particular interested in LED fans for gaming in a dark room and am glad that these are available without LED's.

2 out of 5 eggsBad screws

Pros: The fan works as intended.

Cons: The screws are short and not long enough to go into the actual fan as the design intends. I went to Home Depot and got replacement screws.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, quiet fan!

Pros: Very quiet. Seems well made.

Goes totally silent at about 8v, and will start up fine at 6v, maybe lower. (I didn't test lower)

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGood Replacement for OEM Case Fan

Pros: Replaced the 230mm sleeve-bearing Cooler Master Case Fan.
Easily fits into side panel of HAF 932 case

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Same noise level as the OEM fan it replaced.

For others who want a replacement with the same Cooler Master 230mm model, go to their website, CM store. It's cheaper than this BitFenix unit.

The difference in pricing I think is on the bearing design. Theoretically, BitFenix should last longer than the sleeve type bearing Cooler Master
