Following the success of the Spectre Fan Series, Spectre Pro ups the ante with an all-new design and enhanced performance. The high pressure and CFM design produces wicked cooling and is also perfect for watercooling setups. Its dual frame construction not only looks great, but also helps to dampen vibrations that cause unnecessary noise. Reinforced fan blades prevent warping at high RPM levels, while focused airflow ensures cool air can reach all of your installed components. With FDB technology for low noise and long life, and availability in both LED and non-LED varieties, Spectre Pro is the new gold standard in performance case fans.

  • newegg High Pressure/CFM Design Engineered for maximum pressure and airflow, Spectre Pro delivers a torrent of air that will keep your system cool even when the action heats up. Performance freaks and water cooling enthusiasts are going to love Spectre Pro.
  • newegg Dual Frame Construction Using a dual frame construction, Spectre Pro fans not only offer aggressive looks, but also vibration dampening properties, helping to keep noise levels in check. In short, the Spectre Pro Fan Series looks different because it is.
  • newegg Reinforced Fan Blades High rotation speeds can actually warp fan blades while in motion, resulting in more turbulence and noise. Spectre Pro features reinforced fan blades that resist warping even when spinning at high speeds for maximum cooling performance.
  • newegg Focused Airflow All the airflow in the world won't do you any good if it can't reach your system's hotspots. The special curved design of Spectre Pro fan blades and cage directs airflow in a focused column, minimizing diffusion and allowing cool air to reach your components.
  • newegg Silent Operation and Long Life Like the Spectre Silent Fan Series, the Spectre Pro features the very same fluid dynamic bearing technology for minimum noise and maximum operating life.
  • newegg Excellent Extras Included with each Spectre Pro fan are some thoughtful extras that help you keep noise levels as low as possible. Four Anti-Vibration Rivets help further deaden noise-making vibrations, and for even more noise control, install the included Low-Noise 7V Adapter. Get more with Spectre Pro.

4 out of 5 eggsCould have been the chosen one.

Pros: Beautiful, pushes a decent amount of air, and isn't too loud. Out of the box impressions are good.

Cons: Price. Uses a rifle bearing. Bitfenix has some misleading marketing going on.

Other Thoughts: Like a previous reviewer has pointed out (and got downvoted for), the bearing in this fan is a rifle bearing. Rifle bearings are similar to sleeve bearings with some small changes to increase lifespan and noise to comparable levels of ball bearings. While they do contain some fluid, they are of a lower quality and don't have the same performance as a true FDB. Because there's no standard for naming bearings on these fans, companies can throw around whatever names they want. For example, Phanteks uses an Updraft Floating Balance bearing, which is a fancy name for "Sleeve". It's hard to know what you're getting unless you open the fan up and look.

These fans performed well out of the box, and since they have rifle bearings they can be used in a horizontal alignment without wearing out fast. However, I'm docking an egg for price and misleading marketing on Bitfenix's part. If you want a high quality hydro or FD bearing fan, look elsewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsreview

Pros: quite, good cooling, not ugly.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: They have a nice heavy feel to them, they do a great job cooling my case, and they matched my internal color scheme (fractal design R4)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan

Pros: I bought this fan for the rating of 86 CFM. I had a COUGAR fan in its place at 64 CFM and it pushes a lot more then the COUGAR. Very satisfied with the fan. I think it is a lot quieter then rated. I have it as an exhaust in my Cooler Master Haf X case and it sounds quieter then my CM 200 fans and they are pretty quiet rated at a 18 DBA. Wish I bought a red LED one. First time trying this brand which is why I didn't spend more for an LED one if I wasn't to be happy with it.

Cons: Wish it made me breakfast.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this fan to everyone that needs a quiet 140mm fan that pushes good airflow.

2 out of 5 eggsMisadvertised. Mediocre.

Pros: Look very impressive; not overly loud

Cons: Took these apart; discovered that the so-called fluid dynamic bearing is actually a cheap rifle bearing similar to the original Spectres. Both the 120mm and 140mm versions are mislabeled as such.

Other Thoughts: They're fairly decent in terms of airflow, although the airflow is very chaotic and unfocused (bad for air tunneling), most likely a result of the dense angular grill. Not great as case fans because of lack of focused airflow; not great radiator fans because of lack of pressure. They look nice and are quiet, but for $15 you're overpaying by about $8 apiece.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan!

Pros: They Looking amazing!! Quiet at max RPM, Good static pressure, Great price point, and Oh yea they look amazing!! You will love these fans Highly recommend.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what the guy below me is talking about them making lots of noise. These are by far my quietest fan in my computer and by themselves I can barely notice them running at max rpm. I use them on a alphacool ut60 280mm radiator with a sunbeam 30w 6 channel fan controller. Again recommend them to anyone.

3 out of 5 eggsAnything but quiet

Pros: Beautiful design. Absolutely stunning, in my opinion. Reasonable price.

Cons: Very noisy! At maximum RPM they are extremely loud (rumbly loud hum, easily audible over anything, and heard in other rooms). In order to be quiet, it needs to run at very low RPM, in which case airflow is correspondingly diminished.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend a fan controller for these or software to limit RPM to a low value. And by low, I mean 30% of rated RPM or less.
