These fans have been specifically developed to deliver significant airflow while maintaining low noise levels. Silent Series R2 fans are available in sizes from 40mm up to 140mm.

All new Silent Series R2 fans are equipped with high performance hydraulic bearings, increasing both fan performance and reliability. Each fan 60mm and larger is packaged with both 4 metal screws and 4 rubber screws to ensure maximum fan-mounting options. Using the rubber screws allows mechanical decoupling from the case itself, reducing vibrations and decreasing the noise level (40 and 50mm feature metal mounting screws only).

The cable on each Silent Series R2 fan is fully sleeved for effortless cable routing and enhanced aesthetics.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

Pros: It is quiet and still helps cool
No Leds

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I really like my PCs to be quiet both in terms of sound and light. This cooling fan does this very well.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

Pros: Looks good, quiet and a perfect match for stock fractal case fans.

Cons: None so far, just not dead silent at full bore, but the included speed reducers work wonders.

5 out of 5 eggsActually Silent.

Pros: * Silent
* Efficient
* High Quality
I put this on my Hyper 212 EVO heatsink in place of the 120mm fan that it came with, and I used the rubber screw-replacements rather than using the screws and the glue-on rubber pads. The fit is a little loose, but it doesn't wiggle at all, so it'll work for me. I used the low-speed adapter and the temps remained the same, all the while being more quiet than the original fan.

Cons: Not available with PWM.

Other Thoughts: I would have liked a PWM model of this fan, and I'm surprised FD doesn't offer one. Nonetheless, my i5-2500k remains cool as ever, and I'll probably buy another one of these, plus a PWM Y-cable and set them up in a push-pull configuration.

4 out of 5 eggsNice fans

Pros: Very quiet, anyone who says otherwise is wrong. They are very quiet and nice fans.

Cons: I don't know much about fans, but the screws these came with were small and didn't work with one of the fan mounting points, and they were thick and hard to screw in. May have just been an issue with the case. They don't seem to move much air, but they are quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fans Very Quiet

Pros: Excellent Quiet Operation, Nice packaging Nothing out of place. All components feel high quality and not chintsey. Great look More fan blades than your usual fan probably to help with noise :D

Cons: None at all Bought 4 of these Cant beat the price.

Other Thoughts: These are A Perfect Compliment to my Fractal Define R4 Case which I ALSO HIGHLY RECCOMMEND (BEST CASE EVER) comes with sound deadening etc. They Are made by the same company I have owned the r4 case for 2-3 years now and it is Still in Perfect Working Condition all fans are still working and I just wanted to add a few.

3 out of 5 eggsReally not that quiet...

Pros: Well, usually I have good luck with Fractal Design, but for some reason this fan really isnt' that quiet... I've had fans from fractal that were definitely quieter, not sure what's up with this one. It does it's function, but, it's well audible.

Cons: Noise :/ only reason I bought this was for a quieter fan than my stock fan I received with a cheap case, this doesn't do much better...

4 out of 5 eggsFractal 120mm Fan

Pros: Moves the air

Cons: I have them all hard wired at full speed so they do make some noise, but it isn't bad.

Other Thoughts: They do the job, no real cons other than they can be heard at high speed

5 out of 5 eggsFractal 120mm

Pros: Very silent and move a decent amount of air for my needs. Definitely a big upgrade over previous fan setup. Went from sounding like a leaf blower to being barely audible unless I'm <1ft. away.

Cons: None so far besides price!

1 out of 5 eggsnot silent!

Pros: comes with a voltage reducer which in theory should allow these to run silently

Cons: loud, obnoxious, NOT 12db or 15db...more like 50 or 60db, my dishwasher is quieter!

Other Thoughts: I bought 4 of these the replace the Silverstone fans that came with my case 4 years ago. They had been running 24x7x365 for 4 years and at least one of them was starting to get loud (this is an HTPC and it has to be QUIET!).

I cleaned 4 years of accumulated dust from the fan ports, installed these new fans, and turned the computer on. My ears were instantly assaulted by a combination of a high pitch whine, an engine roar, and a clicking sound. All 3 of the brand-new fans (I bought 4 but only needed 3) were having problems the very first time I used them. I removed each fan and independently tested them when positioned both horizontally and vertically (my case requires vertical positioning). After a break-in period of over an hour the "jet engine" never quieted down (it went back in the box), the whine came and went, and the clicking sound stopped. I also tried the fans using the supplied voltage reducer which only helped quiet one of the fans to a satisfactory level.

I removed the grime my old Silverstone fans, tested those, determined that 2 were fine and put the OLD fans back in the case.

The voltage reducer does work...it does a great job of making my Silverstone fans even quieter than they already were.

I would return all of these but I fear the restocking fee and return shipping outweigh the value. These will either go in the circular filing bin or be kept in a box as as a last-resort/emergency-only backup.

ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED! I would give zero eggs if that was possible.
