5 out of 5 eggsEverything I expected of Fractal Design.

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Flow Series 140mm Fan

Pros: - Black, black, black.
- Rubber corners for that extra sound dampening.
- Comes with removable rubber corners to match 120mm mountings.
- Build quality is astounding.
- The plastic feels really nice.
- Heavy.
- Very quiet on low RPM.
- Even the Fractal Design sticker is hardly a sticker. It has this nice metal feel
- Even the packaging looks and feels good.
- Comes with low speed adapter.
- Easy installation.

Cons: - Nothing. Maybe that it's surprisingly heavy, but I personally like it.

Other Thoughts: With so many 140mm case fans on the market, it's extremely hard to choose. Plus, you add bearing types and it becomes a labyrinth of choices. I knew it had to be black, silent, and have quality build. Plus, I wanted to keep supporting Fractal Design and match my R5 Blackout. Money talks louder than any complaints or wishes. I wanted FD to keep making good products. My case now proudly has three of these babies.

5 out of 5 eggsGood fan

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Flow Series 140mm Fan

Pros: Moves a decent amount of air, verified compatible with a NZXT SEN-MIX2 Sentry Mix 2 Fan Controller to run at low speeds (where it's silent).

Cons: While this is quiet and moves a bunch of air, however it doesn't like grilles or filters in front much (blocks a lot of airflow). For those scenarios a high static pressure fan as others have mentioned would be better.

Other Thoughts: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely the best 140mm case fan

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Flow Series 140mm Fan

Pros: Excellent Airflow, Quiet, High quality, clean/nice design, Rubber mounting holes (no vibration)

Cons: Really nothing

Other Thoughts: I have use A LOT of fans. This is really the best one. the airflow is amazing. It is very quiet for the ammout of air it blows. I have two for intake and 1 for exhaust. I switched to these feom Corsair 140mm fans from Air 540 case. and it dropped my load temperatures by 4-5c on cpu and 3-5c on GPUs (first 980 Ti is at 74c on full load and second one is at 65c! Down from 78 and 70c) I recommend this fan to anyone, you can't go wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsVery quiet and cool!

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Flow Series 140mm Fan

Pros: - High quality build. Feels very sturdy.
- Blows a lot of cool air.
- Very quiet, virtually inaudible.
- Sleek, long black sleeved cables.

Cons: - Rubber corners for mounts may not stand up over multiple installations with the metal screws, but this is speculation.

5 out of 5 eggsSeriously Great Fan from a Great Company!

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Flow Series 140mm Fan

Pros: -High CFM. As an exhaust fan, I found that this can move MORE air than my 120mm Scythe, and do it more quietly! What's not to like?
-Fractal name gives me confidence of it's longevity
-Rubber isolator screw mounts for installing are a nice touch to keep them quiet
-This is noticeable for sound, but not in a bad way. I hear a nice, pleasing "whoosh".

Cons: None really. I guess if I had to pick one it was a little hard at first screwing into the soft rubber mounts. Once all are in though, it feels as sturdy as a normal fan.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this for an exhaust or anywhere you don't need static pressure. This fan moves serious air, fairly quietly!

5 out of 5 eggsI could inflate an air bed with this

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Flow Series 140mm Fan

Pros: And I have. It took some time to inflate a twin-sized air mattress with some duct tape, cardboard, and thin, flexible hosing at a fraction of the noise or a regular air pump.
Seriously, give it a try. The amount of air this thing moves at 12V is almost ridiculous. The fan moves a generous amount of air at 9V while remaining less than whisper quiet.

Flexible mounting for cases that have a large front intake, but a 120mm fan mount. It comes with a 120mm mount adapter that you can swap out for the triangular 140mm ones that are pre-installed.

The power cable is sheathed, a really nice touch.

Cons: You WILL rip the box open to pull this thing out, no matter how gently you might go about it. This is not the fan for people who like hoarding the packaging of all the components that they put in their computer.

The rubber mounting points are a bit too soft, so if you mount them on a flexible fan mount (like the inside fan mount of an NZXT Phantom), the fan will sag. Vertical and Horizontal mounting will not suffer from this, as long as you screw in all four mounts.

Because of the fan blade design, you're better off with the Venturi Pressure fans (the ones with the thicker blades) if you need a radiator fan. A good airflow fan like this will not perform the same as an average static pressure fan.

Other Thoughts: Like nearly all case fans, the exhaust air "funnel" from this fan is quite wide (just about one foot in diameter six inches from the back of the fan), so if you need a more concentrated stream of air for your case, you'll need to make a fan shroud.
Take an old 140mm fan (preferably a thin fan used in certain CPU air coolers) and saw off the plastic spokes holding the fan motor in place. Sandpaper the inside of the ring to smooth out the edges and zip-tie the shroud to the back of the fan via the mounting holes. The end result should redirect the air flow from the exhaust of this fan into a much narrower cone while retaining the same ridiculous CFM. A thin strip of cardboard would also work, although it's more prone to falling off or vibrating over time.
Mounting a second shroud to the front of the fan will also concentrate the airflow even further, but you'll end up with a thick fan profile that won't fit in most cases.

5 out of 5 eggsNice fans

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Flow Series 140mm Fan

Pros: Seem to move a lot of air.
Not very loud at all.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: If you want/need a good fan without LED's that moves a lot of air and doesn't sound like a fighter jet taking off look no further.
