5 out of 5 eggsSLEEVES

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Pressure Series PWM 140mm Fan

Pros: The cable is sleeved! gone are the days of ugly fan cables

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: after some research I found that this was the second best fan for a rad behind a particular khaki fan, without being khaki

4 out of 5 eggsVery quiet HP fan

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Pressure Series PWM 140mm Fan

Pros: This is a very quiet high pressure fan. I am using two of these on a Corsair H110i GT liquid cooler for my CPU. Even at 100% speed the fans don't make much discernible noise other than regular fan noises from moving air. Even this is quiet in comparison to other fans of this kind.

I bought these because the stock fans for the cooler make ticking noises due to the sleeve bearings. The bearings on this fan do not make any noise.

Cons: The RPMs on my fans don't reach the 1500 RPMs advertised. Mine can only get to about 1300 which is concerning. This is according to Corsair Link, so this may be wrong. I know a lot of people don't think highly of that software. Nonetheless the fans do their job well, so I'm not going to return them or anything.

5 out of 5 eggsLove the design

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Pressure Series PWM 140mm Fan

Pros: On par with Noctua but with a more flexible design. The rubber corners allow the fan onto the Noctua NH-D15 by pulling off the 90 degree corner and installing the corner that is "flush". The mounting springs from the NH-D15 hold the fan in place perfectly. Fractal's fan pushes as much air and is equally as quiet as the Noctua. This was a big win for me because I didn't want noctua's dirt brown in my all black/white build and this fan cost $15 less than noctua's black'ish fans

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Pressure Series PWM 140mm Fan

Pros: If your looking for something comparable to Noctua, but not as pricey, you found it. PWM control and you don't have to run these at full power to get great performance. I set a fan curve for these and they are silent and move a great amount of air. Sleeving on the power cables looks great and the included fan splitter is a nice touch. The rubber corners are a some of the better anti-vibration mounts I've seen, especially when compared to corsair fans. Bottom line, the only fans I've seen perform better are Noctua and unless you have a khaki and brown themed build or want to spend $30 a fan, get these!

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: Used the 2 140hp and 2 120hp for intake and a 1 140f for exhaust in a positive pressure configuration. I tend to prefer static pressure fans in general just because of their versatility.

2 out of 5 eggsSilent, but fairly useless for high pressure.

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Pressure Series PWM 140mm Fan

Pros: Silent
PWM control
Includes 120mm mounts
Rubber feet to reduce vibration
Nice to look at, unlike my brown and tan fan from a certain company.

Cons: Doesn't move all that much air through a high restriction radiator.

I have a 24 FPI (fins/inch) radiator and I have to pretty much crank the fan to 100% to feel any airflow through it. I know it's supposed to be a silent fan, but I expected more performance from a $20 product.

It's worse than an AF140 at pulling air through a dust filter, but that's to be expected.

The PWM and silence is pretty useless on a high FPI radiator. Maybe on a lower restriction application this fan would be more useful.

Other Thoughts: The packaging can be difficult to remove... I ordered two of these and one of them slid out of the box easily. The other one was wedged into the cardboard (the rubber is very rubbery at least) and I couldn't extract it without damaging the packaging.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Quiet / High Build Quality

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Pressure Series PWM 140mm Fan

Pros: - Build Quality
- Quiet
- Can mount on 120 or 140mm fan slots
- Solid black
- Comes with splitter

Cons: Not really a con but thought i should put that they are heavy compared to the cheap stock fans.

Other Thoughts: I swapped out the default fan that came with my coolmaster evo cpu cooler and my motherboard had a fit because of the low rpm it was running at vs my old 120mm fans. It was running 200s and the MB thought it should be running at 600 at the minimum. Moves alot of air and the temp has stayed at 39-42c.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Very Satisfied

This review is from: Fractal Design Venturi High Pressure Series PWM 140mm Fan

Pros: * Silent at low speeds and powerful at high speeds.
* heavy, high build quality. It just feels really nice in your hand.
* PWM controlled.
* Comes with a 4-pin splitter—very useful.
* long sleeved cable—allowed me to effectively rout cables.
* The rubber corners seem to dampen vibrations.

Cons: * The rubber corners may wear out with repeated installation/deinstallation, but this will not be an issue for me.
* Pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for, more than you pay for even. Certainly a good value.
* They are noisy at full speed, but the noise is satisfying in a way. It's deep and throaty rather than the typical airy whine of a cheaper fan.

Other Thoughts: This is modified from my review of the 120mm version:

I was searching for a high quality, good value PWM fan to replace the three 120mm and one 140mm intake fans in my case. I have two cats and therefore have dust filters on all of my intake fans, so I was also looking for High Pressure fans. After about a week and a half of reading up on the various styles and brands of fans, I chose to buy this 140mm and three of the 120mm version.

The 140mm fan is now in the top of my case blowing air down onto the back of my top videocard. I've noticed a reduction in the temperature of the videocard after installation of it and the other new fans that I recently purchased.

When I received them, I was so pleased with them that I bought two more of the 120mms to use in a push-pull on the 120mm radiator of my closed loop CPU cooler. Compared to the original Cooler Master fan, they provide better cooling and are quieter together than the one fan was alone.

I also bought two of the Fractal 50mm SSR3 fans to replace the ones on my G.Skill RAM cooler. They spin at the same 3500RPM as the original fans, but are MUCH quieter. At full speed, the G.Skill fans were OBNOXIOUSLY loud while the Fractal fans at the same 3500 RPM are hardly audible.

Of the six 4-pin splitters that I received with my fans, I am using three of them presently in my case. One for my two CPU fans, one for my two front fans, and one for my two 50mm RAM cooler fans. They have allowed my to operate 8 speed-controlled fans on my motherboard's 5 speed-controlled 4-pin headers. I couldn't be more pleased.

I would definitely highly recommend Fractal fans to anyone who is looking for high quality fans at a reasonable price!
