4 out of 5 eggsGood copper cooler, aluminium extras

Pros: The kit contains a copper cooler, made of copper measuring 1.63mm thick with an overall diameter of 55mm (by my measurements), that includes an integral 12V/0.12A fan which connects with adapters to standard Molex 12V drive power connectors. This part of the kit feels rather sturdy and the fan is reasonably quiet.

The included "extra" heatsinks are well-made and are in convenient sizes (27.5mm and 37.5mm square, both 6mm in height).

The included heatsink compound looks like it's workable -- I ordered Arctic Silver thermal adhesive from Newegg to use in its place since I require permanent mounting, but at least it's included as an option.

Cons: The "extra" heatsinks aren't also copper -- they might be nice sizes, but they only look like copper. They're actually aluminium that's copper anodised. Although they're 27.5mm and 37.5mm square, they're only 6mm in height, which means they have rather short cooling fins. They're mostly an "extra" for this kit since the main attraction is the cooler with integral fan, but it would have been better to have copper all around for its better thermal conductivity.

Other Thoughts: Despite the "extra" heatsinks being made of aluminium, they're well made. The main cooler is stocky, durable, and made of reasonably thick copper.

The fan itself can be removed from the cooler assembly by removing the fan blade cover which is secured by two miniature screws. This allows you to service the fan or to replace it with a fan from another identical kit. This means the main cooler assembly isn't a problem to service, even if you mount it to system components permanently with thermal adhesive instead of the included non-permanent thermal compound, which is definitely a plus.

2 out of 5 eggsLoud, but maybe not the same set?

Pros: Stopped occasional crashes I was getting with my stock NB cooler. Has lasted a long time.

Cons: This is the second-loudest fan I have between three budget builds, second only to the stock cpu-cooler on my gf's pc. I found this listing because I want to replace it when I replace her cpu cooler. Without them, my living room will be almost silent.

Other Thoughts: It is possible this is not the same set I have. It looks identical in every way, down to the description text, but my set is branded Vantec, and I picked it up at a box store over four years ago.

Had to bend two fins and remove a third to get it to fit around a capacitor on my board.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works on my 7 year Old DFI Board. The old one was getting ready fry the Chipset. It keeps it cool.
These will be obsolete with the newer boards such as the ASUS Sabertooth.

Cons: Nome except I would Recommend getting some Artic Silver instead of the included Paste.

Other Thoughts: Can't wait to get my ASUS Sabertooth.

5 out of 5 eggsAftermarket cooling

Pros: 3 heatsinks in useful sizes, all quality copper and one with a fan. Excellent for after-market cooling of otherwise neglected motherboard chips.

Cons: Doesn't include filled-epoxy type adhesive? Includes thermal pads, which while not permanent, are not what I would use.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a friend's server, which was running hotter than we were comfortable with. Immediate difference seems minor, but that would be an airflow issue not related to the quality of these heatsinks.

4 out of 5 eggsWireless router cooler

Pros: These kits work great on wireless routers. I've already used two (they were branded vantec, but it was the same kit). Ironically, didn't use the copper heat sink. removed the fan, cut a hole in the plastic case of a D-Link DIR-655 that was overheating under heavy usage. tapped the fan power right off of the input power connector, and used the smaller aluminum sinks on the processor, wired, and wireless controller chips. Wireless connections don't lock up anymore. I will definitely buy more.

Cons: I probably wouldn't use the copper heatsink even if it fit, because of the low fin count. when the fan dies, anything it is attached to would definately overheat.

5 out of 5 eggsnot what mentioned on the newegg specification

Pros: It served my purpose.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I never checked the fan and didn't use at all, because I am using other two heat sinks for cooling a processor and switch chip of a router. Initially I thought all the materials are copper. That is what mentioned in the specification in newegg site, but actually two heat sinks are anodized aluminium. Only the fan bracket is the copper. So it something that I didn't expect, but I don't put the blame on the manufacturer(it is on the back side of the package). But people would much appreciate if newegg people can put a better specification rather than putting, just copper.

2 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Seems like it would work, except for the push pins don't fit and the holes are drilled about a 16th of an inch off center. So I don't know how well it would work, but these things are enough for me to knock off some eggs.

Cons: Push pins don't fit, holes are off center
