3 out of 5 eggsQuiet fan

Pros: Small, quiet, fits perfectly in my case

Cons: Rubber mounting screws are terrible and there are NO instructions for mounting these (see other thoughts).

Other Thoughts: I've never installed anything with the rubber mounts. Would've been VERY nice to have a simple graphic explaining how to do it and what force is needed.

For those of you like me, pull one side through the fan and the other through the case. I pulled the long side through the fan and the fat side through the case using needle-nosed pliers. This worked for me.

3 out of 5 eggsNice But Cheaper Fans Available

Pros: Small, can be mounted to side of case (not to frame)

Cons: Rubber mounts are a nightmare to install

Other Thoughts: If you know what you're doing then the product does exactly as advertised. However, there are no real installation instructions and the manufacturer's website is not helpful. Buyer beware

4 out of 5 eggsGood CPU fan replacement

Pros: Low power draw. Very quiet at low speed.

Cons: PWM is a bit skittish on low-temp-range settings, almost binary.

Other Thoughts: Replaced OEM CPU fan; this has better power, CFM and noise specs. Had to adjust BIOS for temp range to start lower and ramp over 20C instead of 10C. Keeps CPU cooler and recovers from high temps faster. Now my case fan gets a break from hard work, too!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very quiet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After getting these fans, I realized how loud my other computer was. I bought 2 more of these (the temperature controlled but non-PWM version) to replace the noisemakers in the other system.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works.

Pros: PWM control. Wires are plenty long.

Cons: Could be more cfm.

Other Thoughts: The only 80mm fan I could find that had 4-pin PWM control.

4 out of 5 eggsSnap the blades down!

Pros: Moves air pretty well even down at 800-900 rpm. I'm using it as an extra intake fan in my 2 empty 5¼" drive bays. Simple mod with some foam and a wire mesh grill. The location of those 2 bays leaves the fan blowing directly at my AC Freezer 13's 92mm fan which blows right out the rear fan, nice cool air for my CPU cooler to breath. The hard drive cages restrict airflow from my other 2 front 120mm fans, not to mention that air travels a bit farther and warms a few degrees. The PWM cord on the fan was about 12" if I had to guess. Forgot to measure it but I know I didn't need the extension cable I bought to reach the CPU_OPT header on the MoBo, and that's with cable management.

Cons: When I first plugged in the fan and turned on the PC the fan didn't spin at all. I tried using my finger to get it going and it would try to spin but sputter out. Turns out that the fan blade assembly wasn't snapped into place all the way. I pushed it down into the frame and heard a click and then the fan worked fine. This moment of confusion is the reason for -1 egg.

Other Thoughts: I don't think the blade issue happened during delivery because this was in a much larger box shipped with other things. The fan's packaging was mint. I would guess someone on the assembly line did a whole bunch of these without installing the blades all the way.

Fan has been working fine for me since I "fixed" it 4 days ago. Not much a report on longevity but it lets you know the problem didn't recur from operation.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

5 out of 5 eggspretty slick little fans

Pros: The included rubber mounts make installing a breeze and keep the noise to a minimum even when running full speed. running in a dual configuration as exhaust fans and you can feel the positive air flow. Used two of these and 2 120MM in a NAS that will be used and placed in a harsh environment. checked on it the other day when afternoon temps were near 100 and everything was cool inside the case. internal temp was 64c, while in the shop it was placed was ~85f

Cons: nada
