Designed for advanced users GELID Silent PWM fans provide additional airflow by using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to automatically adjust fan speed according to the CPU load. The fan can be idled down and thus be much quieter. An intelligent IC had been integrated into the fan’s PCB to exploit your mainboard’s BIOS software. This technology is more efficient and convenient than using an external fan controller to adjust the voltage.

Each fan impeller has been individually balanced using the latest technology to guarantee steady, unwavering operation. To add to the silence fan mounts replace traditional screws and are made of high quality, temperature resistant, extra long lasting rubber and stop vibrations from the fan motor from traveling into your PC case.

  • newegg Intelligent GELID PWM Control PWM (Pulse-width modulation) uses a digital signal to calculate and adjust to the appropriate cooling performance according to CPU and System temperature, without generating any heat during operation. Fan controlled by intelligent GELID PWM is more efficient than the traditional PWM fans.
  • newegg High Performance With the optimized fan blades, the GELID Solutions FN-PX12-15 120mm case fan delivers airflow of up to 58 CFM and high static pressure for impressive heat dissipation.
  • newegg Rubber Fan Mounts Included rubber mounts have been designed specifically to deal with fan-induced vibrations and are an ideal alternative to standard fan screws, leaving vibrations 100% decoupled from your PC case, ideal for building a very quiet or virtually silent PC.

5 out of 5 eggsCool, Quiet and Cost Efficient!

Pros: I love these fans. Their stylish (neutral) black/white design matches virtually any build. They have very high static pressure for a "silent" fan.

PWM controls makes it easy to adjust their speed directly from your mobo. And, they come with soft silicon mounts to eliminate case vibration.

The 3 year warranty is just icing on the cake (and out of the 20 or so various Gelid fans I've owned/installed I've never had one die on me).

Cons: The mounts aren't particularly intuitive and there are no instructions included. Gelid does have a guide on their website though, so no points off there.

Installing them can be a bit of a hassle at first. A toothpick, or a small philips head screwdriver can help guide them through the fan/case's openings though.

It's worth noting the included mounts are NOT compatible with radiators though.

Other Thoughts: Gelid has been my go-to brand for quiet computing for a few years now. I currently have two of these on my H80 and they perform swimmingly.

I tried the Corsair SP120 Quiet editions before switching to these and I won't be going back. Gelid's Silent 12s have higher static pressure, and keep my 3770K 3-4c cooler while staying just as quiet. Considering their price, these are a steal.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quiet Fan

Pros: Extremely quiet, great color scheme, and moves a lot of air through the case

Cons: Part of fan wire is not sleeved, and you can see the ugly-multicolor wires through the back of the case. Not a huge issue though, it's just a subtle problem.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great case fan. Moves a lot of air and is very quiet. Matches with my 600t white color scheme.

5 out of 5 eggsGelid 120mm case fan

Pros: Super quiet, moves good amount of air, PWM is the reason for this fan

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Using this in the front and Xigmatek XLF-1255 in back-great airflow, low noise

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, quiet, efficient

Pros: It's quiet, it cools the case, but best of all, it's PWM.

Cons: Absolutely, positively, NONE

Other Thoughts: Good Price. Newegg is awesome. Oh, and if I didn't mention it in the Pros section, it's PWM.

5 out of 5 eggsOne Quiet Powerfull Machine

Pros: Quiet
4 pin use as case or CPU
rubber fasteners
wires have black sleeving

Cons: Have to drill fan retaining holes for rubber mounts on Msi case. Not fans fault.

Other Thoughts: Using four fans 2 front 2 top on a MSI ATX Mid Tower Chassis, IN-535 RT . Controlled by a MSI Z77A-GD65 LGA 1155 mother board . Also using 4 pin fan wire splitters. One for front fans one for top fans. Item # N82E12200991. Using a silver stone NT01-E cooler on an i7 fanless. CPU cooler sets 1 inch from top case fans which are connected to 4 pin cpu fan connecter. VERY QUIET FAN!!

2 out of 5 eggsLoud Hum at Low Speed

Pros: Nice long braided cable. 5-years warranty.

Cons: Has a loud annoying, buzzy, hum at low-speed and their dba measurement scale is useless as means of expressing real-life fan noise levels. This goes for all of the other fan manufacturers who use the dba scale as well. I think that Arctic Cooling is the only honest fan brand using Sones to express the relative loudness of their products. dba is useless, because the scale filters out low frequency hum noises. A high-pass filter is installed in the microphone path. This filter blocks low-frequency noises such as blade flutter and motor hum from being measured. A very handy scale for marketing fans that hum. Lets see a real life measurement made using Sones, or the db-c weighted scale.

I also found the rubber stretch mounting devices made no difference in the amount of noise produced and were fussy and difficult to install. I even tried lubing them up with silicone jell lubricant. The worst was mounting them in the fan holes itself. I could see these tearing and then rendering the whole mounting system a piece of junk. If used for side mounting, the rubber tips stick way out of the side of the box. I suppose you could cut them off, but what happens if you need to reinstall the fan again later on. I don't even look forward to removing this fan so I put a quieter fan in its place.

Other Thoughts: A total waste of time and money in my opinion. I attribute the hum source to either the motherboard PWM power supply, or to the fan motor control circuit inside the fan motor. Since another fan connected to the same fan header produced much less noise and at a higher pitch, I can only attribute the noise in this model to a lack of DC-AC filtering inside the fan motor.

5 out of 5 eggsCase Fan

Pros: Really quiet. At full speed you will notice unless you have some audio playing in the background. 58 CFM is alot of air.

Cons: Couldn't use supplied rubber mounts on my case but it already had some that worked.

Other Thoughts: I am running one as rear exhaust and two top exhaust.

5 out of 5 eggsQuietest fans I have ever owned

Pros: Honestly -- these things are so quiet, you have to listen intently to know if they're even running. No stupid LEDs, just a simply-designed PWM fan that does the job well.

Cons: The rubber mounts are a cool touch but the instruction sheet that comes with the fans doesn't tell you how to use them. There are instructions though, on the Gelid website. It would be nice if they included this with the fans. Other than this, absolutely no cons at all.

Other Thoughts: I bought three of these for a new build, and I am blown away (pun intended) by how quiet they are. PWM is a great feature if your mobo supports it; I've monitored them several times and I don't think any of them ever got above 700 rpm, and my case temps are always well below the "red line" and even the "yellow line." If you're looking for quiet fans that just do the job without all the bling, I highly recommend these.

5 out of 5 eggsLike these fans

Pros: These fans are quiet and move an okay amount of air. I've currently got 2 of them on Gelid's PWM Y-splitter for my intakes and I can't hear them regardless of RPM.

Cons: Nothing bad to say about this product so far.

If you're expecting them to move tornado-like volumes of air, maybe this isn't the product you're looking for. It's more for people who want a good volume of air without hearing a jet engine-like sound coming from their computer.

Other Thoughts: They're quieter than the 120mm 3-pin exhaust fan that came with my Fractal case, but a touch louder than the 140mm similar exhaust fan. It might have to do with mounting location more so than fan specifics, though, as they also seem much quieter than the 120mm PWM fan that came with my Gelid CPU cooler.
