5 out of 5 eggsgreat goo

Pros: Scrape off the stock goo and use this. Better than AS and so far the best I've run across.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Just get it and use it. Also worthwhile replacing the stock goo on your video card fan with this - you will see good results.

5 out of 5 eggsAmong the best

Pros: It lowered my core temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees on an Intel i5-3570K overclocked to 4.6GHz under 100% load over Prolimatech PK-1, which is a good compound, however, not as good as GELID GC-Extreme.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: To those people that found this TIM too runny, always store TIM with the tip down, never on it's side or worse, with the tip up. This is vital as the oil begins to separate and you do not want a lot of the oil on a heatsink or chip.

Unless purchased from a brick and mortar store that has this TIM hanging from a hook, place the TIM with the tip down for at least a month before use, and when finished with a job, place it tip down again.

I waited 10 months before using this TIM [with the tip down] and the viscosity was perfect.

CPU cooler is Noctua NH-C14 140mm x 2 SSO [air cooler, with air flow toward motherboard].

I made 5 runs of AIDA64 [Prime 95 is not meant for Ivy Bridge and can burn it up, also, AIDA64 adds more tests]. The last run was just over 2 hours, the following are the temperatures. Room temperature was 70 degrees.

Maximum Temperatures:

Core 0 = 62C [143F], Core 1 = 65C [149], Core 2 = 64C [147F], Core 3 = 59C [138F]

Note that my i5-3570 is only a medium range overclocker, requiring more voltage than those lucky people that get a better CPU. During testing my CPU ran at 1.284 volts due to aggressive settings in BIOS, my BIOS setting for the CPU was 1.270, however, the aggressive settings boosted core voltage to 1.284 as mentioned.

I have used many TIMs and this is the best.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems like very good TIM

Pros: So far, seems to be working quite well. CPU temps are at or below previous levels, but the HSF (Heatsink/Fan) was also upgraded, so this is obviously a factor.

Very spreadable consistency, not thick and pasty like some other TIMs (Thermal Interface Materials.)

Easy to squeeze out of the syringe in fairly precise amounts.

Cons: Rather expensive, though not horribly.

A tad bit too runny to apply to a vertical surface.

Other Thoughts: I'm not one of those guys who will test a new TIM just to see how many degrees C I'm able to shave off my rig's CPU, but thank goodness for those of you out there who are! I bought this product solely on the reviews posted here on Newegg, and even though this stuff is priced higher than many of its competitors, no regrets so far.

The only real drawback that I've found is the consistency may be slightly too thin is some respects. I typically prefer a less viscous thermal grease, but when I applied this to the surface of the CPU then lifted the case upright to install the CPU cooler, the dab began to slide down the CPU, which I've never had occur previously. I quickly laid the case back down on its side and lifted the bottom-end up to get the dab to slide upwards so it was once again re-centered on the CPU, then I had to install the CPU cooler with the case laying horizontally (which was rather awkward due to having to access the back of the motherboard tray to screw down the mounts,) but still doable.

Still, despite the cost and minor issues with attaching the HSF, I have no trouble giving this a solid 4 Eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsJust a bad one?

Pros: Great temps, tool helped

Cons: 1 It is not that easy to spread but better then a few other high end tims I have tried (so far Prolimatech PK-1 is the easiest).

2 You don't get that much and combined with the spread-ability I didn't get many applications out of it

Other Thoughts: I wonder if these have a shelf life that makes them have inconsistent consistency I will probably try another in the future and compare

4 out of 5 eggsGC-Extreme

Pros: Non-Electrical Conductive. Its fairly even with most high end pastes. Very little difference from AS 5 thermal paste. Easier to clean up though and it cost less

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: All the top thermal pastes are very close

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: I have been an arctic silver user since AC3 was released and i can tell you right now this stuff is far superior! I had a water cooled Q9650 and when i went to air cooling i thought my temps would go up from the 30's idle to at least 50's idle. NOPE currently @ 36C with the CM EVO. Very happy.

Going to re-TIM my 3x670's to see if this stuff can give me an edge there too.

Cons: I hardens a little too quickly.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Thermal Compound

Pros: As smooth as butter and very easy to apply. I was very surprised to see the effectiveness of this cooling thermal compound.

I've tried Diamond 7, Silver 5, Arctic MX 2, etc.. I'd say this beats all of them.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsCame with motherboard

Pros: Stands up to high heat for years and remains wet and evenly spread

Cons: nothing

Other Thoughts: I purchased an asrock motherboard and this thermal compound came with the board, after 4 years I removed the heatsink and the thermal compound was still wet and evenly spread.

I recommend this highly
