The WING 12 PL features a unique Nanoflux bearing which ensures a friction-free and silent operation. Thanks to the clever design and magnetic bearing the impeller can be detached for an easy cleaning. Additionally fan blade winglets were designed to achieve larger airflow and greater static pressure. Thanks to GELID’s Nanoflux Bearing the impeller can be detached and the fan blades can be cleaned easily.

  • newegg Nanoflux Bearing (NFB) The Nano-technology composite ensures lowest abrasion and extreme durability (MTTF 100’000 hours). Compared to other Magnetic bearings this technology allows the impeller to be detached and thus the fan blades can be cleaned easily.
  • newegg Nanoflux Bearing (NFB) Compared to Sleeve and Ball Bearings Unlike the cost-effective sleeve bearings which tend to leak oil or costlier ball bearings which are noisier and prone to damage, GELID’s Nanoflux bearing uses magnetic flux to limit contact and friction between the bearing and the shaft. High precision self-lubricated material eliminates oil leakage. The result is an ultra quiet, long life bearing.
  • newegg PWM Control & LED Light The 120mm fan features PWM control which automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise. A blue LED light is embedded to give the fan a unique color.

2 out of 5 eggsDissapointed

Pros: They blue blades and lights make this an awesome looking fan.

Cons: I bought 5 of these fans and 4 of them make a humming sound all the way up to 1300rpm. If you want a near silent computer, these just don't cut it. The plastic they used to make the housing is cheap!!! Broke two corners just getting them installed. I also had some of the sleeving slide out from under the heatshrink.

Other Thoughts: Can't believe these things are almost $25 a piece for the sub-par quality. I will be going back to Cougar fans instead of this junk.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Balance

Pros: Like my tag says "balance" it offers good static pressure and CFM. The good static pressure is nice for single fan operations on tower heat sinks/radiators and good CFM works nicely for push/pull configs and case flow. It's a good balance, works the middle were up-graders like my self see a benefit

Cons: None so far had since April 2013

Other Thoughts: Static pressure fans are really nice alone but in tandem you really see no major advantage. High CFM fans are nice for case air movement but see no benefit on dense heat sinks/radiators. that's why I recommend this fan, It's good in both aspects as well as long life mind you. oh and as far as noise goes this fan is quite on max (1800 rpm) compared to my SLI'ed 660 ti's PE from MSI on 35% fan speed, so it's quite by a long shot other words you wont hear the fan more than normal in and air cooled build. You want silent get Noctua fans and full liquid cooled done.

5 out of 5 eggsvery good

Pros: Works as expected, thermally controlled, during normal use, very quiet, can get fast and loud when needed. LED works well. Cable is sufficiently long and of durable quality, braided weave.

Cons: none so far... well it doesnt include any adapters if you need one, but I did not, its exactly the connection I wanted. Oh, I want this fan with white LED but newegg doesnt seem to have it, anyway, ill live with blue.

Other Thoughts: Its a good case fan.

5 out of 5 eggsTruly excellent fan.

Pros: You get what you pay for in this fan. Extremely capable and quiet fan.

Cons: I have not a single mark against these fans

Other Thoughts: I've had 9 of these fans in a single system for 3 years now. All are connected via PWM splitters to motherboard headers. At 30% speed they run ~600 RPM and are QUIETER than all of my other systems with their 3 or 4 fans at 30%. 9 of these together are not silent. 3 together are very, very near silent. At full speed, all 9 fans together resemble the hum of a server rack, though much quieter, and push a decent amount of air.

My setup is a Danger Den Tower 29 with 4 fans sitting directly on a Swiftech Quiet Power quad radiator, 3 fans sitting directly on a same model triple radiator, 2 fans pulling air into the case (the rads+fans are exhaust).

I've also built a system with a friend with an all in one cpu water cooler (single 120 size, double thick) in a push/pull config, with one other fan in the system, and that machine is the quietest I've ever heard, sans 100% passive systems.

These fans look great with the blue blades lit with the blue LED - but my system has a ton of UV lights in it (these GELID fan blades are UV blue), so I cut all of the LED wires so the fans would all just glow under the UV light - and they look great like this as well.

4 out of 5 eggsOne was wrong blue

Pros: Move plenty of air, while remaining quiet.
Look very good with a deeper blue color.
Have the ability to remove fans for cleaning.
Come with braided protector for cord which looks nice inside.
Has rubber mounts to help reduce noise but also includes screws.

Cons: One of the to fans I ordered was a different shade of blue compared to the other. It was a lighter blue and doesn't look the greatest right next to the other. Also when you run these fans at full they get noisy but thats expected.

Other Thoughts: I've ordered 3 other fans that were the same that all color matched. So I'm not sure how common getting an odd one is.

3 out of 5 eggsEdit: Not quiet. Well made otherwise

Pros: See my previous review

Cons: I agree with the review below. The fan is not quiet, especially for $25.

Other Thoughts: The fan looks good and moves a lot of air, but if you are looking for a quiet fan, this is not the one to buy

2 out of 5 eggsI agree with Erin...

Pros: Nice blue lights, great sleeves around the cables, top notch build quality.

Cons: OK, full disclosure, I have a total of 7 fans in my system, which I understand is totally unnecessary, but hey, I have this case that has holes for 7 fans, and I'm a geek, so everything about my system is overkill.

That said, even though I'm a geek, I expect value. I shelled out almost $25 each for four of these fans expecting that they would make less noise than the ticks on my dog. They don't (just ask my dog). They emit a low pitched hum that is just loud enough (x7) to make you feel like an idiot for paying $25 each. And they (the fans) aren't running fast, either: less than 800 RPM.

Other Thoughts: These are absolutely no less noisy than the $10 LED fans they replaced. If you are going for quiet, then forget about paying premo price for these fans and resist the temptation to put a fan everywhere your case will handle. Get two, maybe three (but no more) cheapo fans and be done with it.

5 out of 5 eggsI like how it looks

Pros: -Looks great
-Moves a lot of air
-True blue color, not white

Cons: -It doesn't come with any power connection adapters with different number of pins

Other Thoughts: I didn't read the specs carefully before I ordered the fan. It comes with a 4 pin power connection and no adapters like some other fans. I connected it to a 3 pin connection on my PC and it works. Because of 3 pin connection only the PWM Control is not available. It doesn't matter that much to me anyways, it works great on one speed and it looks even better.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat fan!

Pros: Great fan! I have it on my aluminum case, transferred some vibration until I bought silicone screws. All o hear is the faint sound of the air being moved. Great quality sleeving. It matches with my ASUS board.

Cons: Like someone said I would've liked a black connector instead of white.

Other Thoughts: Also bought a 120mm.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If you want 120mm blue LEDs with high static pressure look no further GELID is the best 120mm blue LED fan out on the market. The fan has amazing static pressure (2.66mmH2O). I have two of these in a push pull config on my HAVIK 140. Lowered temps by 6C compared to stock 140mm fans. At MAX rpm the fan is not noisy and does not produce annoying mechanical noises like some other fans out there. The sound produced is "airy" like the sound of strong wind blowing at you. Considered quiet for a 1800rpm fan.

Cons: Doesn't install itself?

Other Thoughts: Pushes more air than the Noctua NF-F12 PWM. Which is disappointing for Noctua because their fans costs so much more.

I'm not sure what Erin H. is talking about, I have 2 of these fans and do not experience any ticking or humming noise at all. Maybe he/she is talking about the non-PWM version or just got a bad batch?
