4 out of 5 eggsNot good as ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme

Pros: Cheaper then ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme
Easy install then ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme

Cons: Fans louder then ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme
Temp higher then ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme

Other Thoughts: Top card still reach 70C with SLI, should pay more then buy the ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme IV instead

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing difference in temps

Pros: 1. It's quiet.

2. The difference in temperatures from the stock cooling is night and day.

Cons: 1. It's a bit of a challenge to install. So, set aside some time to do it.

Other Thoughts: For my Visiontek R9 280x, the stock cooler just flat didn't cut it. Maybe there was an issue with the stock cooler out of the box, but I would start gaming and within 5 minutes, the temperatures would go up past 80 degrees Celsius. At this point, stability would start to suffer and I'd get driver errors that would cause momentary freezes.

After installing this? I've never seen it go past 57 degrees while gaming. It's also much quieter than the stock cooler since the stock cooler, at least in my case, would be running flat out just to keep some form of stability.

I haven't had a single crash since. Good stuff. I definitely recommend this.

4 out of 5 eggsGelid cooler on 7850

Pros: Large high quality heat sink, and fans. HUGE assortment of AL heat sinks for other chips. Well written instructions. All parts were there. Fans are not overly loud but as single speed they are louder than stock when the card is not being pushed.

Cons: Given the pros indicate all is well... there are "slights"
The biggest slight is that the fans are single speed. I looked on the package and sure enough.. single speed. The other issue is design... by making the unit fit so many AMD GPU's the design for my card required the cooler be offset away from the backplane and thus into the case. It extends far beyond the card edge and deep into the case. Small cases and this card (with this cooler) would not be compatible.

Other Thoughts: This card (Sapphire 7850 Dual X) is not now, nor will it be "mining", however it has done so in the past, and was great at it. However it is "folding" which can put nearly the same strain on the GPU and cause heat. So far the cooler does work well and is quiet if the stock fans were at high RPM ( 65%). For the price, this is only a fair deal. For near the same money I could have water cooled ( parts on sale).

5 out of 5 eggsFan/Heatsink does extremely well

Pros: The fan and heatsink brought my card down about 30c idle and under load

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This review would have to be taken with a grain of salt since I had a previous cooler on this card previously so I only had to use a few heatsinks and then the fan and heat sink. Everything else was already on the card - so this review is specific to only the fan and GPU heatsink

5 out of 5 eggscrazy difference

Pros: strange just like the guy before me, i saw that this Rev. 2 was compatible with the 280x. i had purchased a sapphire 280x vapor-x and it is TERRIBLY loud. i should've read the reviews on that specific version before i got it but what can you do.

you'll have a better time watching a youtube installation video once before you do it.

quiet, but had to connect it to m motherboard fan controller, connecting it to the GPU fan input did not control fan speed as i tested it out with msi afterburner. or you probably have a fan controller which helps the same.

-1920x1200 res, BF4 at ultra/high - max temp was 60 degrees vs a ROARING LOUD 80 degrees from the stock vapor-x from Sapphire

- 38 degrees idle in Fractal Design R4 case (top damper cover on)
- very simple
- very affordable for a mid tier gpu

Cons: - fan speed cannot be adjusted via gpu fan connection
- manual is terrible, watch youtube installation

Other Thoughts: i am finally happy with my case/gpu upgrade

5 out of 5 eggscoool

Pros: quick easy install. fits r9 280x. took ten minutes. msi gaming 280x with bad stock fans/heatsink. was running at 90c now at 56c. WOW.
mining at 725kh/s

Cons: was not a two pack.

Other Thoughts: this is a great heatsink/fan replacement. went from 90c bad fans to 56c under 97% load mining at 725kh/s. just imagine what it could do for you....

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Great :]

Pros: Plenty of heatsinks for any card you may have, love that the VRM sink screws on :] Install is easy even if you dont look at the directions its pretty self explanatory. It is light too, weighs about the same as the stock cooler.

My Crossfire 6970s are really lovin this

Top card - 40c Idle 70c Load
Bottom card - 30c idle 50c Load

If you have SLI or Crossfire dont be alarmed if the top card still hits in the 70-80c range, thats NORMAL. The top card will be around 20c hotter than the bottom one because it draws hot air up from it.

Cons: I feel the ram sinks are a bit small, nothing too bad but maybe slightly bigger fins?

Other Thoughts: I got Arctic Silver Alumina thermal adhesive to Glue the ram sinks on and its doing great.

also, BE CAREFUL SCREWING ON THE VRM SINK, if you screw it too tight the card wont boot, had a scare with that then loosened the sink and it was ok.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing for reference a 7970.

Pros: -This cooler does it job well and is priced appropriately.
I applied this cooler on a reference Sapphire 7970.

-The Sapphire 7970 OC to 1200/1600 @ 1.212v on Gelid.
Idle: 28°C | Average gaming load: 55°C
Note: This is with the Gelid fans at 50%. (More below)

-The Sapphire 7970 OC 1125/1600 @ 1.175v on reference.
Idle: 38°C | Average gaming load: 75°C-80°C
Note: This is with reference fans @ 50%. Which puts out quite a lot of noise. Much more noticeable than the Gelid.

-OC conclusion: I was able to achieve a higher OC with this cooler, all with lower noise and low load temps. I was previously able to run the 7970 at 1200Mhz core but heat and mainly noise was too much for me.

-Comes with more than enough heatsinks for VRAM/VRMS

-Gelid gives you a few extra screws for each mounting step which is nice.

-To me the cooler looks of nice quality and after mounted feels sturdy.

Cons: Nothing major for me. I am happy with what I received for the price. This cooler does take time to install properly so don't rush with the install.

4 out of 5 eggsGELID GC-VGA02-02 for my 7950

Pros: Purchased this to replace the stock cooler on my XFX-7950 (single fan) as it tended to run a bit warm in my system. The third party options for an aftermarket cooler for the 7950 were very slim but this cooler works great. The instillation was simple enough, and my temperatures at full load definitely dropped enough to make this worth while, though I don't know if it would improve cards that have a better stock cooler.

Cons: The price for this unit was a bit high, but considering the other available options, they can really charge whatever they want.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing. money well spent

Pros: Amazing performance

Cons: You may have trouble with the adhesive squares. The VRM heat sinks wouldn't stick, but the RAM heat sinks did.

Other Thoughts: he VRM heat sinks would NOT stick. The adhesive square were unusable. No stickiness at all. So I just used a supplied thermal paste strip and put the stock VRM heatsink back on.
Oddly, the RAM sticky tape squares where fine.

I am absolutely blown away. All I've done so far is ran Heaven twice, so more testing is in order, but it capped out at 58c, and was almost dead silent! You hear a faint sound of air moving. No high speed whir like with the stock fan.
Idles at 28c.
Best $60 I've spent on hardware in a while. I hate the sound of a gaming gpu's fan. often referred to as a "jet engine" under load. And the stock fan on my 7870 Myst fit that bill.
Now it's almost dead silent 100% of the time. Amazing. Highly recommended.
