1 out of 5 eggsStay Away Cougar Fan

Pros: Creates noise

Cons: Less than 2 months and fan already making noise. What a joke. Better joke, I am still waiting for the rebate, what a rip off. I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for the rebate...what a waste of time and money. Look for something else... don't even try like I did.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this product. Even it is free with rebate, don't waste your time and money.

3 out of 5 eggsMakes a lot of noise in horizontal position

Pros: Quiet when kept vertical
Good cfm and air flow
Great build quality

Cons: Makes clicking noises in horizontal position when in full speed mode

Other Thoughts: I have 3 mounted to a horizontal rad. Of the 3 fans, 2 will make noise at full speed. One fan needs to be around 75% of full speed and the other one needs to be reduced to 50% speed to cease noise completely.

I'm disappointed that this problem hasn't been fixed. I considered returning these but really it's beyond the hassle to do so. It's too bad as these fans look very well built.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding quality

Pros: Best fan purchase in 10 yrs. these are so quiet you can hear a mosquito's kidding, they mov plenty of air and really are almost silent.

Cons: I only discovered these recently, wished I'd known about them many years ago...if they were around then.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fans

Pros: Great fans, Extremely quiet.

Cons: Branding is important but orange?

Other Thoughts: Replaced the stock fans in an HTPC with these. At about 900 RPM they are practically inaudible. They push plenty of air and even at higher speeds are the quietest fans I have used and I have tried a few. Very pleased.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Moves air very well! and one is very quiet

Cons: I bought two of these, both work extremely well however, one of them is really loud. I thought it was my video card originally but once i unplugged the fan my computer was practically silent.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice fan!!

Pros: I couldn't ask for a better fan than this Cougar CF-V12H it is quite and still blows a decent amount of air around. I had previously purchased some Rosewill RFA-120-BL 120mm case fans and was hoping they would be better than what they turned out to be. The Rosewill fans were a bit louder than I really wanted and didn't circulate air around to my liking. I guess you get what you pay for! I happy to pay more for the Cougar fans.

Cons: nothing yet

5 out of 5 eggsGood Fans

Pros: Powerful. Quiet. Looks cool.

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: They should include a couple extra rubber mounting pegs. I'm sure some people have broken them, which forces you to use screws that make the fan louder.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: Low noise even when installed horizontally , high capacity fan, easily connected to motherboard for speed control

Cons: Had to use regular screws and nuts since it's very hard to use the rubberized thing that came with the unit

Other Thoughts: This fan is installed beneath the video card. It lowered GPU temperature by 3 degrees C.

As expected some noise at maximum rpm but not distracting at all.

Will update comments in a few months since current horizontal installation seems to be questionable with this type of bearing. Impression is based on comments from other users.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I got 3 of these fans to replace the case fans to replace the two intake fans and one exhaust fan in my Corsair 500R. I have them hooked to the 3 pin fan controllers on the motherboard.

These fans are quieter, while still moving slightly more air. 100+CFM? No, but I'll believe 60. No motor noise, it's all the standard whoosh of air movement.

Also, the added 4-pin molex to 3 pin adapters are nice even though I don't use them.

Nice braided 3 pin wires. Just the right length for the front panel, as they are just able to weave back behind the drive cage, up through the cable channel, and into the two case fan control ports on an MSI P67A-G45 that are right by the 24pin motherboard power connector.

All from some fans I got on sale for the price of the cheapo generic fans which always sound like they're going to blow a bearing and don't move much air at all.

Cons: Traffic cone orange, but I can't see them through the front grill anyway.

The silencers are a pain to install. I ended up just using the stock case screws and the little rubber washers that were already on the 500R

At no fault of the fans - now I have to put up with other noises my PC is putting off (the click-tick buzz of a storage HDD, another fan (guessing my GPU) is giving off motor whine, etc)

Other Thoughts: Yeah, they're not PWM, but PWM fans would have been 2-3 times the price I payed for these fans, more even, since I would have needed a PWM fan controller, and I doubt they would be much quieter.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet!

Pros: Quiet, they move a good amount of air. I got a great deal for them when they were on sale.

Cons: Kind of pricey but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I have 4 of these running inside a Fractal Designs R4 case and you can just barely hear them when sitting right next to the case in a quiet room. Temp inside my case is 74 degrees F.
