Reduce the vibrations efficiently & silent operation
AERO-DYNAMICAL DESIGN
Air-inlet with optimal aero-dynamical design reducing noisy air turbulences
Oil surface tension and hydrodynamic pumping forces provided by grooves, no friction, extremely quiet
HYDRO-DYNAMIC-BEARING TECHNOLOGY
We defined HDB to Hydro Dynamic Bearing. An oil seal design that has a higher reliability and advantage than conventional fan motor design.
1. High revolution precision, low vibration noise
2. Fluid seal design provide extremely long life span
3. Surface tension effect, runs more smoothly with no friction, extremely quiet
Fluid seal design is achieved through the use of oil surface tension and hydrodynamic pumping forces provided by grooves. Bend area is centralized oil and prevented oil leakage out of motor (oil leakage is main problem of sleeve bearing, short life time) . Friction between shaft and HDB will be down due to herringbone structure reaction(friction between the metal is disadvantage of ball bearing, noise & waste heat problem). So HDB conquer sleeve & ball bearing disadvantage to become more reliable & quiet technology for Top-notch fan. Such design concept is successful and applicative on HDD, and we can see a reliability application in it.

This review is from: COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)
Pros: 1. Excellent quality 2. Uniquely designed pads dampen noise and they really work! 3. Long lasting 4. Comes with 4 rubber pins if you'd like to use those instead of the screws. 5. Nice coloring scheme
Cons: 1. The only thing I can tell you personally is you want to avoid the PWM fans at all costs unless you like hearing low frequency whining all the time, they are terrible. 2. Are these loud? Not really just use an inline resistor with 5v or 7v and it'll be perfectly quiet. All fans require one if you want silence period otherwise they run around 1000 rpms or 1200rpms (all fans) at 12v and it can drive you insane having 4 of those.
Other Thoughts: A few manufacturers take their work seriously, Cougar is one of them. The fans are absolute works of art and better than anything price/cost ratio-wise. I am completely impressed by their accessories which include a connector 3pin - molex, and the rubber pins. A must buy if you're building a new PC definitely!
This review is from: COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)
Pros: Very Quiet, High Flow, Easy Install. Has 3-pin connector to attach to MoBo. Black is invisible inside case.
Cons: No PWM for 4-pin MoBo connections that regulate fan speed. Orange footpads on corners draw attention around corners of fan grating.
Other Thoughts: You can always use permanent marker to black out the foot pads. Overall this is a great fan- very quiet, no rattling or issues whatsoever after a year of near-continuous operation. I do wish it had PWM, though.
This review is from: COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)
Pros: Super quiet, perfect replacement fan for my Cooler Master liquid cooling system. Fit like a glove and actually keeps the tem cooler than the stock fan ever thought of. 32 degrees celsius idle, and 38 degrees Celsius under load.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this fan whether you're looking for airflow, or a replacement for a liquid cooling system radiator.

This review is from: COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)
Pros: Have 6 of them in a case and together they are all still inaudible over the ambient (and almost dead silent) 22db noise of a house.
Havent had any issues in over 3 years with them; no whine, no stuttering, no failures.
Built in rubber dampers keep even the flimsiest of cases from resonating vibrations.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: If you are going to extend the leads on these fans, you will need to splice onto the existing wires. They, as with almost all others, do not have a sturdy enough pcb mounting point to survive desolidering the old leads and replacing them with new ones.
Also, I wish that the black version had black rubber dampers to give a totally blacked out look, but this is easily fixed with some masking tape and paint.

This review is from: COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)
Pros: Good air flow, quiet (the only fan I can hear is my CPU fan), and sturdy. Fans installed easily, and came with everything you'd need.
Very happy with this purchase. I bought two to replace 2 of the stock fans in my Rosewell Challenger case at a very good price (around $10 each on sale I believe).
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I don't know that it was necessary as I don't do anything intense on my PC, but I bought these two fans for my first budget build. I feel like they push a bit more air, and I was glad to get rid of the LED fan I had in the front.
This review is from: COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)
Pros: Bought two of these, one for the front, the other for the back. Combined I have 5 fans in this case and it is far more quiet than the XP machine it replaces. Even at low speed you can feel the front fan drawing in air.
This review is from: COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan (Black)
Pros: Quiet! Beautiful! Powerful!
Cons: Price
Other Thoughts: Just correcting my previous review. turned out i just had one plugged in badly. amazing fans so quiet! i hooked up 7 of these in my case can hardly hear them!
