HYDRO-DYNAMIC-BEARING TECHNOLOGY

We defined HDB to Hydro Dynamic Bearing. An oil seal design that has a higher reliability and advantage than conventional fan motor design.

3. Surface tension effect, runs more smoothly with no friction, extremely quiet
Fluid seal design is achieved through the use of oil surface tension and hydrodynamic pumping forces provided by grooves. Bend area is centralized oil and prevented oil leakage out of motor (oil leakage is main problem of sleeve bearing, short life time) . Friction between shaft and HDB will be down due to herringbone structure reaction(friction between the metal is disadvantage of ball bearing, noise & waste heat problem). So HDB conquer sleeve & ball bearing disadvantage to become more reliable & quiet technology for Top-notch fan. Such design concept is successful and applicative on HDD, and we can see a reliability application in it.

Pros: I have 4 of these on a side panel of my case as intake fans and I can barely hear them, there running off my PSU and the noise they make is tolerable, plus they keep the inside of my case pretty cool. Includes Molex passthrough 3 pin converter 4. Sleeved power cable 5. Anti-vibration pads Cons: So far the only thing I can comment against this fans' design is that when I install it as an intake fan on the side of my case, it causes a hum or buzz that is a bit louder than the fan itself. I have a 2nd fan installed to exhaust air out the top of my case which doesn't emit this noise, and I've run the 1st fan in different configurations / power levels to confirm the noise. So as long as I don't place the intake side of the fan against the grill of the case it works great. So I remove one star due to this fan only running at it's best in certain configurations. Other Thoughts: I'll probably order a different fan to mount as side intakes and move my noisy fan to the front of the case as there is a gap between the front grill and the fan itself which should eliminate the noise. Pros: They cool my Corsair iH100 Radiator in my HAF X case with 4 of them working together in push pull config. Cons: You need to go to a big box store and buy a set of number 6 machine screws that are about one inch and 1/16 long if you wish to "Bolt" the fans to your radiator well enough. CPU, and system temperatures (ambient/load) dropped very significantly, all the while bringing my system to a whisper. Cons: I would say the price...But you get what you pay for 100% Other Thoughts: Only time will tell how they hold up, but judging by the build quality of these fans, I don't expect to be disappointed.
