5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: This fan looks cool. If you don't have a fan controller or a 4 pin slot on your MOBO this could be a louder fan than you think. But even at max this is still quieter than any fan I've owned. On a fan controller, low is nothing. I actually questioned that it was on. On high, airflow was awesome. In my case it was made louder buy being sandwiched between a water cooler and the back of the case.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a great fan. Super quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan

Pros: -Aesthetics: Looks mean and serious with a little bit of party on the edges. Love it.
-Performance: I didn't actually test this, but it feels like it moves quite a bit of air on the back exhaust of my case, even on low RPM's
-Noise: Seriously minimal. I have it in my Define R4 with all my other fans turned down and I can't hear anything. It's delightfully quiet as long as you have software/fan controller. Running at max RPM is noticeable but not infuriating unless you're a silence freak.
-Price: Priced competitively, and a killer deal when on sale. I've gotten 3 of these fans, each on a different special. Keep your eyes on the price.

Cons: Honestly, none.

Other Thoughts: Please do not run this off of the included 4pin to Molex adapter. It will run it at full RPMs all the time, and somewhat ruins the entire point of this fan, which is to be SILENT.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet Fan

Pros: I replaced the two front fans in a Lian PC-9F case with these. Much quieter than originals at the same rpm speeds. I do not notice the high pitched motor wine at low speeds. So far I will buy again

Cons: Maybe a little pricey when not on sale.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible high pitched noise at any speed other than FULL

Pros: The none PWM version of these fans are amazing. They advertise them as being stuck at 1200 rpm, but if u hook them up to your mobo Chassis fan connecter you can change the RPM easily...

I bought the NON PWM version of these first, and they did NOT disappoint, I have them pulling on my rad, and decided I was going to get another bunch of fans for push config...

I decided to get the PWM version for push on my radiator because they are capable of going faster. And the faster fan should always push.

I wanted silent operation.. which I know these would be capable of If they didnt have a horrible horrible brain piercing squeal when running at any speed other than full blast... .

Cons: HORRIBLE HIGH PITCHED SQUEAL when running at any RPM other than full blast.

if you want these fans to run silently (which they are NOT silent at 1500 rpm whatsoever) then you have to deal with a super high pitched squeal.

Horrible horrible design...

I thought this was just a faulty fan,, but I have 5 others and they all do the same thing...

I am really disappointed. the 140mm versions do NOT do this... How can they advertise this fan as being SILENT.. When it makes extremely loud noise when running on full blast.....

And although you can lower the RPM till the fan is silent. (which you can do with ANY fan), Then you have to deal with an intolerable Squeal That drives My dogs and myself alike crazy....

Other Thoughts: I noticed that Cougar hasn't responded to anyone's reviews in quite some time and I believe they are no longer making products. Or so it would seem.

They also claimed that the squeal was a problem with their earlier fans and that they fixed it with a revamp and if you "RMA your fan, they will send you the version that works correctly" well that is a blatant lie...... Because they do not produce these fans any longer.... So any "replacement" you get from doing an RMA will most certainly give you the same exact faulty product you purchased originally.

I bought 6 of the NON PWM fans and they work great, Although also NOT silent whatsoever at 1200 RPM. they do not have a horrible squeal like these do....,

I wish it wasn't like this as I really loved cougars products up until now...

I will be returning all of my fans, including the NON PWM version and the 1050 watt psu I bought. Just for the simple fact that if their top of the line fan has this much of a problem.. I cant imagine what will be in store for me with the other products I purchased from cougar after a little wear and tare. ..

2 out of 5 eggsCaused Significant Vibration

Pros: Easy to install, quiet, moves substantial air & has a nice long cable. PWM functions properly.

Cons: Creates significant vibration felt all over the case.

Other Thoughts: I installed this fan on the top of my computer case to remove excess heat that accumulated. Even though the fan itself was relatively quiet it set up significant vibration. The fan was installed with vibration-free grommets yet the motion could be felt on any part of the computer case. I hope this was just due to an off-balanced fan blade since most purchasers seem quite happy with the fan. This one is going back.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Fan

Pros: Good Fan got it on sale No high pitched noise although i didn't use the fan plug so i guess it is always at 100% speed pushes a lot more air than my rosewill fan that came with my case

Cons: a little thicker than i would have liked but i made it work

5 out of 5 eggsPleasantly surprised

Pros: I'd never heard of this company so I went out on a limb and ordered 3 of the COUGAR CF-V12HB (no pulse width modulation). After installing the fans and experiencing how much air they move in such a silent fashion I decided to order 2 more of these COUGAR CF-V12HPB and install them as my system fans to my motherboards 4pin connectors. Wow! The PWM makes these fans absolutely spectacular. I still use the other 3 fans as AUX fans if needed. (I usually don't need more than 1 aux fan running, the 2 system fans take care of most of the heat.) So far these fans are amazing, move plenty of air and are deadly silent.

Case: Corsair Carbide Series 200R (Black)
Mobo: MSI Z87-G45
CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6870

Cons: Only con I can think of is that this a company I'm not familiar with so I can't speak to how well these will hold up or how long they will last.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet, but not silent by any means

Pros: PWN control means they run about 800rpm under light load and low ambient temperature.
Rubber anti-vibration mounts included with each fan

Cons: Silent means they make no noise. They make a quite distinctive noise, albeit at a low frequency. With other sound in the room you can't hear them, but in a silent room they are perfectly audible.
