The NF-B9's highly-optimized blade design achieves an exceptional level of airflow and static pressure that most other fans can only reach at much higher speeds. Beveled blade tips, Vortex-Control Notches as well as Noctua's SCD drive system and premium-grade SSO-Bearing ensure outstanding quietness and long-term stability.

  • newegg Bevelled Blade Tips Due to advanced design measures like the beveled blade tips, the NF-B9 is surprisingly quiet despite its outstanding airflow and pressure performance.
  • newegg Vortex-Control Notches Psychoacoustic optimizations like the Vortex-Control Notches make the NF-B9's noise pattern more pleasant to the human ear.
  • newegg Smooth Commutation Drive The new SC drive system reduces torque variations and thereby ensures improved running smoothness, particularly at lower speeds.
  • newegg Self-stabilizing Oil-pressure Bearing Noctua's well proven SSO-Bearing technology guarantees supremely quiet operation and exceptional long-term stability.

4 out of 5 eggsNice, quiet replacement fan

Pros: Extremely quiet, even at full speed
Keeps my CPU the same temp as the fan it replaced

Cons: not a 4-pin PWM fan

Other Thoughts: I don't have any hard data, but it seems to move less air than the stock fan on my CPU cooler, but that's the tradeoff for the extreme level of quiet you get from this fan. Temps are still nice, however, 29 degrees idle (haven't tested under full load, as the server I use this fan in is unlikely to ever hit 100% load).

Overall, I consider this a good buy because silence is what I was looking for.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect fans

Pros: I love my Noctua fan. I use the Noctua NF-B9-1600 92mm fan for my CPU (quad core 3.0 amd). Very quite and pushes plenty of air.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Noctua is worth the money! The fan design looks great.

3 out of 5 eggsA tradeoff

Pros: This fan is very quiet and it comes in a nice package with several extension cables and adapters. A luxurious package for a case fan.

Cons: Does not move anywhere near as much air as my previous cheapo fan.

To expensive. No 92mm case fan should cost 20 bucks unless it spits ice cubes.

Other Thoughts: In exchange for less noise, this fan moves less air. My previous Masscool fan was noisy and I wanted to replace it with something quiet. I read all the reviews about Noctua fans so I thought this fan would be the answer. However, after installing this fan and closing up my case, I noticed that the temperature of my video card increased about 3 degrees compared to my previous fan and I had to increase the sped of my GPU fan. In other words, this fan may be quiet but is it not going to give you the best cooling. If you are looking for less noise and are not concerned about cooling as much, this fan is great. If you need more cooling, go with a higher RPM, higher CFM fan and accept the trade off of more noise.

Pros: Replaced the stock fans in my Fractal Node 304 and they move SO much more air with no added noise, really a great product!

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet but doesn't last

Pros: Very quiet at first.

Cons: I have bought it 1 year ago and was amazed how quiet it is. Now it is getting loud, so I need to buy an new one. I have used it for about 20 hours a week.
20 hours x 50 weeks = 1040 hours. That's about 42 days if running non-stop. I was expecting a longer life from an expensive fan like this one.

Other Thoughts: I guess I can just buy a new fan every year. Or may be I'll try another brand this time. I have seen some sleeve bearing fans that run quiet and last longer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little fan!

Pros: Silent and effective cooling. I have two of these installed in ReadyNAS NVs. They are under my desk and I cannot hear them running between 1100 and 1300 rpms while keeping the temps of the 4x HDDs between 47-50C.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The 7v and 9v adapters are a nice touch.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet!

Pros: I was a little skeptical of price. And, they aren't very pretty. But, they are really really quiet and they move a lot of air. I couldn't be more satisfied. I will only use these fans in all my builds. My server is about 10 feet from my bed, and I can't hear a thing, even at full load.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsCool & Quiet

Pros: Very Quiet, replaced a seized fan on a low profile Scythe heatsink. Keeps CPU at reasonable temps in less than ideal airflow conditions.

Cons: A tad expensive but worth it.

Other Thoughts: Using this in a HTPC inside a home theatre cabinet with very poor airflow. The CPU is an AMD 9950 black edition that gets very hot. This fan fit nicely on the scythe heatsink and keeps the temps around 50C.

Highly recommended if you are looking for quiet HTPC cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsSignal information

Pros: no comment

Cons: no comment

Other Thoughts: Black=ground; yellow=+12Volts; green=sense (tacho. signal returning from Noctua to motherboard); blue=control (PWM spin regulation going to fan). Does fan have a power tansistor inside driven by PWM logical signal only? Or my own PWM have to be +12V/90mA output?

5 out of 5 eggsNot much air

Pros: Noctua
Silent when undervolted.

Cons: Color scheme -.-
Not as much air as I anticipated.

Other Thoughts: I have a YouTube series where I take over 200 fans and put them in water to see which one has the highest RPM. I have different classes 80mm, 92mm, 120mm, 140mm, 200mm, 220mm. Then I have the highest performing fans (Pushing 200CFM),but anyways this fan got in 198th place from all of the fans. Fully in the water this fan completely stopped (I had it running on 27v) and so I slowly pulled it out and it started back up when it was %50 in water. Obviously this fan didn't have the static pressure ,but y'now I am using this for my wife's PC and she likes it, I like it.
