5 out of 5 eggsNo PWM, still extremely cool even with lowest adapter

Pros: +EXTREMELY cool running
+EXTREMELY quiet

My giant 14cm case fans at lowest speed are still louder than both fans installed in push/pull with the ULNA adapters. And with the same adapters, I'm still get sub 75C at 4.4ghz / 1.230 v after a few hours on Prime95. Color me impressed

Cons: -No PWM fans

Other Thoughts: Even without PWM fans and using the ULNA adapters, this this is great. I'm definitely a Noctua fan for life.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst impression of Noctua

Pros: Dropped idle temps 10c from AMD 1090T Stock Cooler that had arctic silver.
Very Quiet
Instructions / Installation were clear and easy to follow.
Noctua didn't cheap out on thermal paste.

As a cnc machinist I have an appreciation for the quality and attention to detail that went into this cooler. Well designed, solid locking pressure.. just everything down to the way it was packaged was done right.

Cons: 3 pin fans instead of 4. It came with about 3 different fan Y-splitters, but one adapter that I would have liked to have seen is a 4 pin PWM for motherboards that can regulate the fan speeds down. Not a big deal. These fans are still very quiet, I just don't see a need to run them 100% all the time.

Other Thoughts: First Noctua product i've purchased. I paid $50, but I would pay $65 after seeing/testing it.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic for Xeon E3-1270v3 on ASUS P9D-V

Pros: Easy to install, clear instructions, great included thermal paste, high quality product, good value for performance, can't go wrong with Noctua.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Included two fans, I only used one. As always, Noctua's attention to detail is fantastic. From the moment you touch the package you know you're holding a premium product. And it wasn't even that expensive!

3 out of 5 eggsA10-7850K build on hold due to missing NM-A90 bracket kit

Pros: I've standardized on Noctua for excellent cooling and build quality but their logistics failed me this time.

Cons: Bought this fan for a small form factor build with Kaveri A10-7850K and Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI mITX motherboard. Although it states that it's compatible with FM2+ socket it's missing a bracket kit to allow cooler orientation for optimal front to rear case air flow. Without the bracket air flow is non-optimally sideways or up-down. So, my build is on hold for up to 14 days for the NM-A90 kit to ship to me from Noctua. They should bundle this bracket kit with the fan or at least stock it at Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsFavorite CPU Cooler yet!

Pros: *Quiet
*Quality build
*Uses common size 92mm stock fans
*Optional fan speed filters for board connection
*Clean packaging and well written, easy to understand install instructions.

Cons: *Really big, but that's also why it cools so well. On the standard ATX board I used, it' overlapped the memory slots and I was just barely able to sneak my ram in under it. Memory with a tall heatsink would not likely fit.
*Installation is slightly more involved because the fans have to be installed individually. That is also a feature I happen to like about it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cooler.

Pros: Used this in a gaming rig. Absolutely fantastic. Pricey, but fantastic.

Cons: Pricey?

Other Thoughts: Flesh tone shows grey dust quickly and gives you a quick cue to clean it out.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD BUYERS READ PLEASE

Pros: GREAT COOLER. OC'd my AMD FX 6300 to 4.4ghz and i am only exceeding 50c at prime95 after 30-45 mins of it. Great install, be careful with the clips.

QUIET

Cons: and this isn't a huge con, ON AMD SOCKETS YOU CAN ONLY MOUNT IT INTAKE FROM GRAPHICS AND OUTTAKE TOP OF CASE. HOWEVER EMAIL NOCTUA AND THEY WILL SEND YOU A FREE UPGRADE KIT TO BE ABLE TO MOUNT IT LIKE 99% OF INTEL SOCKETS MOUNT THIS COOLER SO IT BLOWS OUT THE REAR. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS AND EMAIL THEM SOONER THAN LATER SO YOU CAN BUILD IT ASAP!

Other Thoughts: great cooler, strong build, QUIET

4 out of 5 eggsNotcua NH-U9B-SE2

Pros: The temperature of CPU with all cores at 100% load was reported to be around 80C with the stock Intel cooler on my Xeon CPU (LGA1150) E3-1230 v3 @ 3.30GHz. With the NH-U9B-SE2 the temperature is about 60C so it is better than the stock cooler by about 20 centigrade degrees. The ambient was about 23C in both cases. I can live with that.
Even at full speed it is no noisier than the stock Intel cooler.

Cons: My Thermaltake V3 ATX Tower case has an opening beneath the motherboard so you do not have to remove the motherboard to attach the backplate. Unfortunately the opening is smaller than the backplate on one side and the standoffs that hold the motherboard up are not high enough to provide clearance for the backplate between the motherboard and the case. I ended up having to use a bench grinder to grind part of the lip off on the end of two arms of the back plate so it would fit between the case and the motherboard. I am not sure who to really find fault with here. A larger hole, higher standoffs, or a less lip on the backplate that keeps the hex head bolt from turning would have all worked to avoid the needed modification.

Other Thoughts: Purchased from a Newegg listing on an auction site which cannot be named. I would have also liked to say something about the the shipping but they also say I cannot do that. I suspect they have good reason.
