Combining a massive six heatpipe dual radiator design with an exquisite NF-P14/NF-P12 dual fan configuration, the NH-D14 is built for ultimate quiet cooling performance. Topped off with a tube of Noctua’s award-winning NT-H1 thermal compound as well as the new SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system, the NH-D14 is an elite choice for the highest demands in premium quality quiet cooling.

  • newegg 6 Heatpipe Dual Radiator Design Providing more surface area, better heat-distribution and superior airflow efficiency than conventional tower style heatsinks, the NH-D14’s six heatpipe dual radiator design was developed to provide ultimate quiet cooling performance in dual fan mode.
  • newegg Dual NF-P14/NF-P12 Fan Setup The NH-D14 sports a premium quality dual fan setup consisting of Noctua’s award-winning NF-P12 (120mm) and NF-P14 (140mm) fans, both of which feature Vortex-Control Notches, SCD technology and SSO-Bearings in order to achieve a perfect balance of performance and quietness.

  • newegg Excellent Component Cooling Hanging out at the bottom of the fin-stacks, the NF-P14 fan doesn’t only contribute to the NH-D14’s superb CPU cooling capabilities but also provides massive airflow over surrounding motherboard components and heatsinks, thus ensuring excellent component cooling performance.
  • newegg SecuFirm2 Multi-socket Mounting System Noctua’s enthusiast grade SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting provides broad socket compatibility (LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA775, AM2, AM2+ and AM3) and meets the highest demands in safety, contact pressure and ease-of-use.
  • newegg NT-H1 Thermal Compound Noctua's much-acclaimed NT-H1 is a well proven pro-grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance, excellent ease-of-use and outstanding reliability.

5 out of 5 eggsBest air cooler out there

Pros: Almost completely silent, cools my entire case, and keeps my 8350 at about 33C while playing BF4 on ultra even with my case fans set to low.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I decided to go with this cooler after reading about some of the water coolers actually being louder than this and not cooling as efficiently. After getting it I realized how big it really is but it has no problem fitting in my case which is a basic mid tower.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent cooling capacity, currently being used with an FX-9590 without issue. Comes with top quality thermal paste.

Cons: Heavy.

Other Thoughts: The bottom of this cooler is grooved from the manufacturing process. I lapped the nickel plating off the cooler to smooth the bottom surface and remove the extra layer of thermal resistance, however this made no difference to cooling performance.

5 out of 5 eggsbig and quiet, recommend

Pros: Big, easy install, like cable length, quiet quiet quiet, works very well.

Cons: Big for a mid case, fit in mine though with window fan removed, verify your case clearance.
Sorry fans of Noctua fans but hate the brown and beige makes it look dated and like something from the 70's.

Other Thoughts: A clear LED version would be cool.

Spread your silver paste with card for even thin dispersement across entire attachment face, should include one with cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper smooth and quiet

Pros: +This thing runs quieter than my kitten, jumping from drape to drape.
+The thermal compound that comes with this HSF is pretty good, and it comes with a LOT of it.
+The fans look good (in my opinion.
+MAJOR case/hardware compatibility.
+Keeps my FX-8350 at 33C at load.

Cons: -It is quite large (not really a complaint, but some people might have to buy a new case just to be able to use this, I have a mid coolermaster case and i have about 1mm of clearance)
-It can cause problems being able to reach the cpu-fan header on the ASUS m5a99fx pro r.20 board.
-It was very difficult (for me) to get the spring screws to start threading on to the bracket, I have to make sure to hold the top of the whole unit down firmly to get the spring far enough down.

5 out of 5 eggsCool

Pros: +++Quiet - Can barely hear this thing. Not sure if my computer's on at times.
+Cool - Idle/Load temps around 30C/40C on an i7 4790k OC'd @ 4.8 (I keep my room around 25C)
+ Installation is a breeze. Easy to follow directions and everything snaps in place.

Cons: - waaaay large - Fit fine in my case, but I had to take the heat spreaders off 2 dimms of RAM to fit underneat.
- price is a bit high, but this is a quality product. You get what you pay for in this case.

Other Thoughts: I was a bit apprehensive about purchasing this for my new i7 4790k rig. Thought I might have issues with the fit, but it was just right. Installation was a pleasure. I've installed quite a few coolers in the past, and this is by far the easiest. Nothing plastic to get bent out of place!

I'm basically writing this so others can know it will fit if you get these parts (all highly rated on Newegg)

Core i7 4790k @ 4.8GHz
ASUS Maximus VII Hero ROG Z97 Mobo
Gigabyte Radeon R9 280x 3GB
32GB G.Skill DDR3 2400mhz (4x8, 2 with no heat spreaders)
2x250GB Samsung Evo 840 SSD in Raid-0
Noctua Air Cooling
Corsair HAF 932 Full Tower case
Corsair HX-750 watt modular PSU

5 out of 5 eggsTop Performance and Quality

Pros: -Performance: Top tier performance, in competition with everything save custom water. CPU runs 60 degrees C or less under continuous max load despite somewhat high voltage and high clock speed.

-Quality: Everything screams quality. Beautifully manufactured radiator and heat pipes, seamless welds, and a nice finish on the bottom of the heat sink. Fans are great too, as always with Noctua.

-Easy Installation: Install was easy done through CPU cut out in case with no struggle. SecureFirm system is praised for reliability. Heat sink can be detached quickly so re-pasting is easy.

-Price: Low price for the performance. Keeps up with larger closed loop coolers (~240mm) and at a lower price. Fans included are great and do not need to be replaced.

Cons: -Large: large radiator. Not much taller then other popular air coolers, but longer and wider. Can be a bit of a pain to work around. Ram with large heat sinks mean front fan must be adjusted, recommend low-profile ram. Not really compatible with anything smaller than ATX.

-Non PWM Fans: Fans are not PWM. While low noise adapters are included, and not overly load at max, PWM would have allowed for more quiet operation at low loads.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best AIR COOLER

Pros: + Very Easy to Install
+ IDLE: Keep the Temperature as low as 30oC on a INTEL 4770K non-OC CPU which is sitting on Asus Maximus VI HERO.
+ FULL LOAD: Keep the Temperature as high as 61oC while Running PRIME95 Stress Test.
+ Very Quiet, even at MAX fan speed's noise lever is kept at moderate.

Above Tests were performed on TOP Notch Noctua NH-D14 120mm cooler which is just the best Air Cooler in the market while using TUNIQ TX-4 Thermal paste.I would high recommend using TUNIQ TX-4 over other brands.

Cons: - non so far except I would love to switch over to a better cooler after 2 years of USE but this thing just wont give away :p
- Massive in Size and performance, just remember that.

Other Thoughts: + Money very well Spend
+ 2 Years of full time service and still it is performing with superb performance
+ High Recommend Cooler for those Air Cooler lowers.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Soooo quiet
Great cooling
Color scheme

Cons: Fans are not PWM, HOWEVER at 100% speed you can not hear these fans
Color scheme

Other Thoughts: I do like the color scheme of the fans but at the same time I do not. Doesn't match my blue and black build but the performance of this heat sink makes me not care.
