Combining a massive six heatpipe dual radiator design with an exquisite NF-P14/NF-P12 dual fan configuration, the NH-D14 is built for ultimate quiet cooling performance. Topped off with a tube of Noctua’s award-winning NT-H1 thermal compound as well as the new SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system, the NH-D14 is an elite choice for the highest demands in premium quality quiet cooling.

  • newegg Six Heatpipe Dual Radiator Design Providing more surface area, better heat-distribution, and superior airflow efficiency than conventional tower style heatsinks, the NH-D14’s six heatpipe dual-radiator design was developed to provide the ultimate quiet cooling performance in dual-fan mode.
  • newegg Dual NF-P14/NF-P12 Fan Setup The NH-D14 sports a premium quality dual fan setup consisting of Noctua’s award-winning NF-P12 (120mm) and NF-P14 (140mm) fans, both of which feature Vortex-Control Notches, SCD technology, and SSO-Bearings in order to achieve the perfect balance of performance and quietness.

5 out of 5 eggsBig. Quiet. Cool.

Pros: I have had my MB set to silent fans for a year and game 2 or 3 nights a week and it's never revved up to where I can hear it.

Cons: It's really big. Bigger than you think it. It takes up a lot of space in my large case but that's why I got a large case. I had to mount one fan a little higher to fit over the ram heatsink. Not a big deal, only had to move about 3 mm.

5 out of 5 eggsUltimate Air Cooling

Pros: Good as most all in one watercooling setups. I own 3 NH-D14's, and one NH-15 now. I have a Corsair H-100i, a Thermaltake water 2.0. Both of these are dual 120mm radiator units, and the Noctua's hold there own just fine.

Cons: Huge, Heavy it makes installing with tall ram, or closely spaced components tricky. Before you purchase check their m/b compatibility list.

Other Thoughts: Unless you go for more than the current dual 120mm water cooled all in ones you can't beat it. I have a heat demon 9590 amd currently on the thermaltake water 2.0 and it's not enough. I see there are some dual 140mm units out now. I may go that route next, or maybe a custom 360 or larger water rig.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, but big

Pros: - Incredibly quiet
- Keeps i7 ~30c
- Fans are incredibly easy to take off and put on
- Can mount blowing air horizontally or vertically
- Can mount on AMD or Intel

Cons: - Very large, the clearance from your motherboard to the bottom of the radiator is quite low. This thing will hang over your RAM slots. If your ram is tall (extra heat spreaders) it will most likely keep you from using the left two slots (on a 4 slot motherboard). You can still get dual channel setups (slot 1 & 3) if you detach the fan and mount it a little higher. This means you will need to blow air horizontally in a tower to have the fan over your RAM.

- Not the best colors.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your case is deep enough to support its height.
Buy RAM without extra head spreaders that extend their height too much. G.Skill Tridents have fins at the top that make it so they barely fit doing what I outlined in the cons section.

Despite what the packaging says it will fit LG1150; don't stress when you get it. The Intl 115X are all the same mounting sizes.

Make sure you put the back mounting plate on before installing the motherboard if your case does not have an easy access panel on the back.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great on 775 & 1155 CPU's !

Pros: Original install on a Asus P5Q Premium 775 MoBo. Kept an OC Q9650 at a solid 38c idle, and Low 60's at Heavy load. 2nd install on I5 2500 w a MSI Z77aG45 MoBo and saw a further drop to 35 idle and 48 heavy load ! Impressive cooler and very quiet. Now if I can just get my MSI TFIII R7950's (x2) to run quieter !

Cons: No new info here. Just a BIG Heatsink. Required a creative installation process to install on the Asus 775 Mobo, as it would not fit with the psu in place, nor would the psu install after the cooler was in place in my Antec Mid Tower case. Had to slide psu into the interior of the case and then install heatsink, and then slide psu back into place to accomplish the mounting. This was due to the PSU covering the heatsink mounting screw on the top side.

Other Thoughts: The Q9650 on the Asus P5Q Premium MoBo ran a little warmer as the Antec 900w psu blew directly onto the heatsink as the separation was just 3/16 of an inch between the bottom of the psu and the heatsink,, but even then, the OC Q9650 ran fairly cool. The MSI Z77aG45 MoBo has more of a separation(about 7/16 in) between the PSU and Mobo so the cooler is even more effective now.

5 out of 5 eggsCool and Quiet

Pros: Quiet
Keeps CPU extremely cool
Everything you need to install is in the box
Fan plug adapters with built in resistor to slow fan speed
Easy Install

Cons: Fan are not PWM

Other Thoughts: It does an amazing job keeping the CPU cool while hardly making any noise. IMO better than a cheap liquid cooler. I have AMD FX-8350 and with the fans running at the slow speed under full load and temp only goes up to about 42-43º goto frostytech <dot> com for benchmarks on all cooler (air and liquid)

This thing is BIG and barely fit in my case. i have about 1.5 inch clearance on top. when you mount on the CPU you have to remove the middle fan and trying to get the fan re-clipped with 1.5 inch clearance is a bit tricky.

Here the setup that worked with this cooler:
Cooler Master Elite 431 Mid-Tower
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Motherboard
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series Ram (2 sticks)

4 out of 5 eggsSo friggin huge ...

Pros: ... it's awesome.

Lots of heat dissipating surface with nice, quiet fans. Easy install.

Cons: Got my fingerprints all over it during installation. I wish the fans were black.

Other Thoughts: In between fan has to come off to install, but that's easy.
The front fan had to be moved up, also easy.
If you have an LGA 1150 socket, remove the rubber X from the mobo backplate, same installation as 1156.
Make sure your RAM is compatible:

5 out of 5 eggsSimply the best

Pros: Absolutely amazing performing cooler, I knew ordering that there was high quality to be expected but putting it into my computer and seeing the numbers was simply amazing my FX6350 at 4.2Ghz what was normally running upto 145F on load on the old cooler will not pass over 110F on this noctua it's simply amazing

The noise of this cooler rely is basically silent, the noise of the air flow i would say i louder then the fans themself even when they speed up, superb

Cons: It is a massive cooler and makes getting ram sticks on off what i had do to swap, really difficult, what would help is if the fans where a bit easier take off but for me the clamps hold the fan on there really dam hard i don't want rip the thing off my board trying get the fan off, but meh, it isn't something that i have deal with more then a few times ever so not a big deal

Other Thoughts: I say this cooler lives to it's well known high performance and maybe even more then i expected, for the price as well, tho the size and weight can be something think about the performance is unmatchable and to me that's the big deal and it delivers
