Combining a massive six heatpipe dual radiator design with an exquisite NF-P14/NF-P12 dual fan configuration, the NH-D14 is built for ultimate quiet cooling performance. Topped off with a tube of Noctua’s award-winning NT-H1 thermal compound as well as the new SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system, the NH-D14 is an elite choice for the highest demands in premium quality quiet cooling.

  • newegg Six Heatpipe Dual Radiator Design Providing more surface area, better heat-distribution, and superior airflow efficiency than conventional tower style heatsinks, the NH-D14’s six heatpipe dual-radiator design was developed to provide the ultimate quiet cooling performance in dual-fan mode.
  • newegg Dual NF-P14/NF-P12 Fan Setup The NH-D14 sports a premium quality dual fan setup consisting of Noctua’s award-winning NF-P12 (120mm) and NF-P14 (140mm) fans, both of which feature Vortex-Control Notches, SCD technology, and SSO-Bearings in order to achieve the perfect balance of performance and quietness.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing...

Pros: -Really really low temps
-Customizable fan configuration
-Quiet
-High compatibility

Cons: -Very big, should be called "high-profile", limited number of cases can use this and ram must not be much taller than it's PCB
-Must remove to make upgrades and cleaning possible

Other Thoughts: Been using this for almost 5 years now on an i5-760, cooling a stable overclock of 4ghz (200mhz bclck, 1.28vcore/1.25vtt). Recently changed cases to a Rosewill Challenger S because I needed a short case to fit in my computer desk that was wide enough to fit this, and it was difficult to find. It was literally the only case I could go with.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: Easy setup
Cool as can be
Quiet

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my AM3+ system, fits well on the ASUS Sabretooth R2. My temps are pretty good with this behemoth 28C IDLE to 44C LOAD that is with a room temperature of 25C. Fits perfectly in the CMStorm Trooper.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat air cooled setup

Pros: Extremely quite/silent cooler. Installation, even for a novice, took 10 to 15 minutes and was very straight forward. It is cooling an i5 4690k, not overclocked, at idle it sits at 30 degrees C and during stress test it settles in around 49 degrees (ambient room temp was roughly 20 degrees C at the time of the test).

The case is a Fractal design define r5 with two Noctua 140mm (one bottom intake, one rear exhaust) two Fractal 140mm fans (front intake)

Cons: The cooler is compatible with the LGA 1150 chipset, but it does not say on the box or the rear cooler support, so you will have to determine which mounting holes to use on your own.

It is very large, make sure you check the Noctua website for compaitablity of both motherboards and ram to make sure you can fit it.

Other Thoughts: all in one water coolers are great products, but if you have the space for the Noctua cooler it's silent, runs on little power and still keeps temperatures close to some of the water cooled setups without running the risk of a leak taking out expensive components.

5 out of 5 eggsNoctua NH-D14 (None Better)

Pros: Not one heating issue in over 4 years running. Can't hear it even when your ear is up to the case. Simply THE BEST I have ever purchased. Purchased this item to cool my AMD Phenom II 970 Black Addition back in 2011. It is now 2015 and it still has not blinked an eye or failed once in keeping my temps below normal.

Cons: Absolutly None!

Other Thoughts: Anyone searching for a cooling system out side of liquid simply must take a long look at Noctua products. You will not have to worry about cooling again.

5 out of 5 eggs50 Celsius maxx i74790k

Pros: Amazing cooler max temp i got was 50 Celsius under load. at reg stock speed 4.0 ghz, pretty sure there is plenty of room for overclocking.

Cons: big, might not fit depending on your motherboard but worth every inch.

Other Thoughts: Amazing cooler, make sure your motherboard is compatible and ram.

4 out of 5 eggsi7 4790k

Pros: Keeps my processor cool at full load.
Hottest my cpu got was 74 degrees Celsius at max load (Prime 95) for 11 hours without any errors. When I came home from work, it was only running at around 65-70 degrees.

Cons: Took me an hour or two (not joking to install this).

Other Thoughts: I just wish it wasn't as time consuming to install. The fans have to be plugged into the motherboard before installing the heatsink... In fact, this should be the last thing you should put on. This includes the fans that are on the heat sink. They should be connected to the motherboard before you put it on the cpu.

5 out of 5 eggsThats a HUGE #$$&@!

Pros: This thing really moves the air! The installation wasn't near as tricky as I'd thought.

Cons: The only cons, as everyone else has mentioned is the overall size. I installed this in a Corsair Graphite Series 230T CC-9011038-WW with the z97-pro (wifi) and found that after installation it completely covered the RAM. To upgrade the RAM i now have to remove the cooler.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this to anyone. My cpu is holding steady at a cool 34 degrees constant, and the fans are super quiet.

4 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality, Great Company

Pros: Awesome cooling
Great company, customer service

Cons: Size
Lack of clearance to PCIe slot

Other Thoughts: This CPU cooler by Noctua really gets the job done. I was building a new 5th generation Intel system and didn’t want to go with liquid cooling and this one had high marks. Noctua as a company is in Austria and everything about them screams quality. Even though my motherboard was only a couple of months old, they already had updated their website to show compatibility. I highly recommend going to the Noctua website and looking up your exact motherboard and RAM on their compatibility page. I did this and verified that my Gigabyte Champion motherboard and Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM were compatible, but then found that the cooler was just a little too close for comfort to the 1st PCIe slot. Noctua suggests insulating the fan clips as a solution but that is a little scary of a solution for me, so just be aware of it (I ended up just using the second slot). This is the sole reason for the subtraction of an egg on this review. Also ensure you have enough case height. I have a rather large Thermaltake Armor 8000 and still just barely cleared the case door. Also of note is the bracket required for the 2011-v3 socket is not included by default, though the company will airmail you one for free if you request it on their website with proof of purchase.

All the size constraints aside, this cooler is amazing. The fans are extremely quiet and keep the CPU at near room temperature most of the time. When the fans spin up you barely even notice. The quality of the parts is top notch, and has sold me on Noctua in general (I just replaced all the fans in my system with Noctua versions. The two tone brown may be strange for some, but I find it a nice change of pace from blue/black/red everything with LEDs all over the place. Overall a great cooler and a solid four stars. It’d easily be six stars if not for the issue with the PCIe slot. Granted, the cooler was designed before the motherboard, and the website says there could be an issue, but it’s more of an issue than is led on.

5 out of 5 eggsNoctua Rules

Pros: I upgraded from an old Corsair h100, I had the h100 for roughly 4 years now and was making noise. I bought this because I didn't want to worry about pump failure etc. So this Noctua cooler is freaking awesome everything is way cooler, my temps dropped from 52C to 41C, on top of that its so quiet, those Corsair fans were really loud, The Noctua fans have this weight and it screams quality, im running an AMD 8350 @ 4.7Ghz. This cooler is so nice looking, everything was very well packaged, honestly I didn't think this cooler would be this awesome. I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. I highly recommend this cooler to everyone.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Well I wouldn't mind seeing some L.E.D. lights on the Noctua fans but that's no deal breaker. Im sold on Noctua and will be purchasing from this company in the future.
