2 out of 5 eggsover rated.

Pros: it cools, but so do all heat sinks. used this on an i7 950 and it cooled ok, but not great. also, the fan is not balanced very well. it shakes. this is a problem with the noctua fans of this style- I have a few of them and they all shake. there are better for cheaper.

Cons: over priced and the fan shakes. keep looking- there are better heat sinks.

5 out of 5 eggsit's a Noctua

Pros: size, ease of install, down draft to cool northbridge, very quiet.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: I have 4 Noctua case fans so I figured their heatsinks would be good, and it is. I installed this on a ASUS Sabertooth X58 with a intel i7 970 6 core cpu and my temps went down 10c. at idle my hottest core is 28c and my coldest is 17c. ran prime 95 and hottest core was 57c and coolest core was 46c. it was very easy to install except the fan clips were kind of a pain but I think thats due to my tall motherboard heatsinks on the left side only, the fan clip on the side of the memory was easy to access. my old cooler (Dark Knight) ran 10c, hotter but is still a good cooler but the Noctua is way better as my home office is 70F so this cooler has no problem even when the room is warm.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality

Pros: 1. Very quiet.
2. Very effective.
3. Extremely well-made.
4. Excellent documentation.

Cons: It isn't really a con, but note that this thing is pretty big. I wouldn't try using this in a small case. It wouldn't work as well as it does if it wasn't large, though.

Other Thoughts: I bought this based on all the positive reviews here on newegg. Even with all the praises it has gotten, it exceeded my expectations. From the time you take it out of the box, you immediately know that this thing is exceptionally well-made. The instructions are very easy to follow, and it fits perfectly on my motherboard (MSI Z77A-GD65). It doesn't wobble or shift at all. It is very well designed and very well built. It is also very quiet (barely a whisper), and it does a great job at cooling. This thing is well worth the money. I plan to install a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 on my main PC tonight, and I have no doubt that it will be another great experience. I highly recommend this cooler for anyone who wants an effective and QUIET CPU cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsVery quiet, easy to install

Pros: Easy to install. Comes with hardware for multiple mobo/socket types. Quiet!

Cons: Didn't encounter any.

Other Thoughts: Unit installed easily on LGA 1155 mobo (ASUS MAXIMUS V GENE). Mounting hardware was well designed. Comes with several speed adapters. Very quiet, excellent for HTPC.

5 out of 5 eggsChillingly Quiet

Pros: Gorgeous fan. Impressed all who saw. Fit very well in my Fractal Design R4. With that case running 3 140mm fans and this CPU cooler running a 4th 140mm fan, and my Radeon 7870 running it's own 2 - I can still hardly hear it. I'm thrilled. Can't stress how quiet a system made to be quiet can be and this cooler is the key. I don't wince when I hit the power button anymore. This was my first aftermarket cooler and I was a little nervous, but Noctua's instructions where incredibly thorough and all parts were supplied. Oh, and my CPU is running at 22C at 780RPM - Ha!

Cons: This is a large unit. I purposely bought my case with a 140MM cooler in mind as I heard they were the quietest. It cleared my XMS Corsair RAM fine.

Other Thoughts: Really impressed with the build construction and installation process. I fell like I made a great investment in my system with this piece.

5 out of 5 eggsFits in a standard case

Pros: I really love this model. It fits in a standard sized case. I like there other models too but you have to make sure the case is wide enough for the larger units.
I don't even worry about heat using these heat sinks. Just drop them in and turn it on.
Comes with all the hardware you need to mount it properly.
Good instructions.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Will continue to use Noctua coolers for all my builds. Takes the "heat" worry out of things.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HSF

Pros: Quiet
Efficient
Very frosty

I have the NH-C12P cooling a 3770K cpu in a SG08 box with an asus P8Z77-I mobo. CPU is slight OC'd at ~4.2-4.3Ghz

Since the 180mm case fan is located directly above the heat sink I decided to try w/out the Noctua fan and it worked better than expected!
<30C idle and <60C on full load (intelburntest and prime95) and that's using the lower case fan speed setting. Love this HSF!

Cons: Certainly clunky given the size
Cable management is a little challenging
May not fit with higher profile RAM

Other Thoughts: Installation direction must be considered ahead of time since the heat sink takes up a lot of space and can interfere with mobo components and/or RAM

5 out of 5 eggsBEST FAN I'VE EVER OWNED

Pros: This has to be by far the best fan I have ever owned. It keeps my i7 3770k at a frosty 21-23 celcius at idle stock speeds. I haven't had the chance to really push this thing yet but judging by the idle temps it shouldn't be a problem to overclock. The installation was a breeze and my five year old could do it.

Cons: None, this thing is a cooling beast.

5 out of 5 eggsNH-C12P SE14

Pros: High Quality, great performer inside mini itx case. Well worth the money spent. (Silverstone SG-08)

Cons: none i could think of.

Other Thoughts: FYI, this CPU cooler fit nicely with ASUS Z77 mini itx mobo. NO overclocking on my i5 3570k yet, but maybe in the future. Temperature ranges from 35C to 44C depending on room temperature. Good STUFF, nuff said.
