5 out of 5 eggsGreat replacement for the stock Intel heatsink

Pros: I have an Intel i4770k with an AMD 7950 3GB video card in a medium size tower with 6 case fans (Corsair 200R) .

Prior to installing this heatsink , my CPU max temp in games like BF4 would go all the way up to 79C. The GPU max temp would be around 75C.

The Noctua heatsink + Artic Silver 5 brought my CPU max down to 54C (in the winter) , while bringing my GPU max down to 64C. CPU Idle temp was reduced a good 12-15 degrees C or so.

Cons: None. Fit with plenty of space in my Corsair 200R. I have both side fans installed and could have gotten away with a larger Noctua heatsink.

Other Thoughts: I use Antec True-quiet fans, I could probably have better temps if I used stronger and louder fans.

By the time the AS-5 settles all the way my CPU max in winter should be 52C-53C.

First time buying Noctua, and I would definitely buy from them again. Very quiet heatsink. With the SSD, true quiet fans and this heatsink my PC is crazy quiet.

4 months on with no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsThis cooler is awesome!

Pros: Lightweight for it's size, Good clearance for nb/sb heat pipes and sinks, impeccable mounting system, inaudible with the ultra low noise adapter(barely perceivable with the low noise adapter or straight wired), outstanding quality.

Cons: Why does Noctua use this brown color? lol

Other Thoughts: Fits on my Asus P5Q-E perfectly in my Fractal Design Define R-4 case. Provides outstanding cooling performance on my E8500 core 2 duo at 4000 mhz, 61c after 2 hours of prime 95.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Great Cooling, Looks Nice

Cons: Hangs over ram slots, after market fans are hard to install. Read other thoughts

Other Thoughts: If you plan on getting an after market fan be sure to get a 120mm because the fan was designed with 120mm mounting holes the hinges that come with the cooler won't fit any other 140mm fan I learned the hard way, this is just a warning for people wanting to buy this cooler.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: VERY effective cooling, pretty quiet, good price point for a high end cooler

Cons: This thing is HUGE, covering almost the entire top half of a full ATX motherboard. Without much room to work around it or any way to see the mounting points from above the heatsink assembly can be very difficult to install even though it is a simple process with easy to understand instructions. If you try to attach it with the motherboard outside the case it will likely cover several of the motherboard screw holes and make the motherboard impossible to install properly

Other Thoughts: My build is using Gskill memory modules with relatively all heatspreaders and the Noctua fan is still able to fit over top of the memory. Just make sure to install the heatsink with the pipes facing away from the memory slots. Worst case scenario you can remove the bottom fan and should then have plenty of room.

4 out of 5 eggsGood heat sink, but could have slightly better design

Pros: Comes with directions for noobs LOL
Easy to install on AMD boards
Comes with everything necessary to install a typical heat-sink
Great coolant design
Does a fantastic job of keeping an 8 core AMD CPU cool!

Cons: The design of this heat sink causes obstruction!!! I had to remove two of my memory modules in order to install this heat sink, so headway was not taken into account when this heatsink was designed. If I put the heat sink in one direction it sat angled on the memory and would merely lean on the CPU which could not be installed that way, obviously! The only way that method would work would be to remove all four of my memory modules. Again, pretty obvious that would be a no-go. I had to turn the heat sink the other way so the heat pipes themselves were on the memory side which wouldn't even make it into the socket without pulling the first two memory modules out, but that was the only way this would fit in my system. I had 4x4GB DDR3 modules to make 16GB of RAM, but now I'm down to 8GB after installing this heat sink. 8GB is still plenty for most of the gaming I do and the heat sink does a fantastic job of cooling my CPU, but fact is I had to sacrifice RAM in order to use it. I actually wanted to get another Andy Samurai Master heat-sink again because it had the design that worked perfect in my last build. Lo and behold that one is discontinued so I had to settle for this one at more than double the cost.

Other Thoughts: Still a great heat-sink overall and had little to no trouble installing it (processor-wise). If I didn't have to pull two of my memory modules to make it fit, I would have absolutely no complaints. Minus one egg for lack of better design.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Cooler

Pros: Comes with thermal paste, everything fits, quality, CPU stays cool. Cooling fins undercut to accommodate RAM in nearest RAM slot.

Cons: Instructions don't mention 1150 socket, but you will figure out to remove the center rubber insulator from the "X" part that goes onto the bottom of the motherboard without their help just by checking the fit.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and easy

Pros: -Easy to use (I am a noob)
-Silent
-Cool

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: First time ever installing a cpu cooler, and was a little scare about that, but it was very easy. The temperature and noise levels of my pc are much, much lower right now.

5 out of 5 eggsA joy to unpack, and easy and uber-secure brackets

Pros: This is the second Noctua I've bought. This one fits nicely in my Small form factor custom case with room to spare. I get a genuine thrill unpacking these coolers, as every as the build to the packaging wispers swiss watch-like quality. My favorite feature of the Noctuas are the brackets which are easy to install that don't put me through a panic like some other well known, yet highly regarded brands that install awkwardly.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsVery quiet, cool, and looks great

Pros: I got this solely because it matched very well with the redwood case it was going in (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811204039) It's completely silent. Very easy to install for AMD (the Intel looked to be kind of a pain though). Relatively low profile for a 140mm fan.

Cons: I just wish the heat spreader and pipes where copper, but I didn't take an egg off since it keeps my CPU very cool.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great heat sink fan. Quiet, cool, easy too install, and attractive. I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsHaswell Cooling

Pros: Massive
Quite
Cool

Cons: Some users don't know what they are taking about regarding this heatsink it runs much cooler.

Other Thoughts: I replaced my Intel 4770 stock heatsink with this bad boy due to overheating issues. Running Prime95 with the Intel stock heatsink the CPU was hitting 100C after 2-3 minutes, after replacing the heatsink with the Noctua NH-C12P SE14 after 10 minutes the highest temp has been 67 degrees. I'm not using one of the low noise adapters because the video card is louder than the CPU. I used 5 tiny drops of thermal paste one in the center, and close to the 4 corners.

System:
Intel i7 4770 Haswell @ 3.9Ghz
MSI MPower Max w/ Enhanced Turbo Core
GEIL EVO Corsa 1600 9-9-9-28 16GB
