Pros: This is the best heat transfer device I have ever bought. 100% worth the investment. It outlasted the system it was bought for and installed well into a new system after over two and a half years of continuous use. It gives a secure, forgiving install. The best advantage over the CM Hyper series (another quality product) is the mounting bracket for intel that gives a sense of security when installing such a heavy radiator. Good, quiet fans and overall well made.

Cons: Obviously large footprint. The versatile mounting options do not make up for the massive size and exacting installation. Will often require removing the motherboard and in general requires attention and patience when installing. Cannot use both fans and RAM with tall heat spreaders. I prefer to leave my computers on their side due to the weight even though the bracket is secure.

Other Thoughts: Get this if you want to overclock.

Pros: I was surprised to find an extra (optional) support bracket that was not pictured or mentioned by other reviews I have read. The bracket is easy to install with 2 supplied screws. This support bracket is to help protect from damage when moving your PC. I see no reason not to use it, even if you don't move your PC much.
The whole install was very easy using the AMD bracket. I cannot speak to Intel install. It also fit very nicely in my very old Lian Li PC-60 case. Despite it's large size it is not blocking access to anything in my case or on MB. If I need to add/remove RAM I would just remove the lower fan and it would be easy. My RAM is standard height and I have plenty of room between top of RAM and lower fan, If you have tall RAM you may have to remove lower fan. Check your measurements first.

Other Thoughts: I made a paper template before purchasing this large cooler to check for clearance in my case.

Pros: Nearly dead quiet on the lower setting. Keeps it plenty cool.

Cons: Big. Really big. Had to remove some ram to get it to fit. There should be a warning and fan dimensions so any buyer will understand how installing it will impact other items in your case.

Other Thoughts: On the other hand, being forced to remove some ram caused me to discover an issue with the ram I had. That was a very good thing to discover! Now, I actually have the usable amount near what it was before. Serendipity.

Pros: •this is a great alternative to the D14. while the performance isn't quite as good, it is one of the best if you clearance issues with the tower style HSF (in my case, the GPU placement on my motherboard is the limiting factor for tower style units)
•as expected, great Noctua quality
•comes with Noctua's thermal compound (only a quarter tube though), which is one of the best on the market
•good, easy to install, mounting hardware

Cons: •Noctua fans are not pretty, and it is very visible through the side window of my case
•included fans aren't PWM

Other Thoughts: tests on other websites show that there is little difference between running 2 fans and using only the top fan (bottom fan only shows a more significant difference). so, if you have RAM with top fins, its not a big deal to remove the bottom fan (which has the added benefit of being somewhat quieter). Alternatively, you could remove the fins from the RAM, if allowed (such as on Trident-X RAM) and get extra RAM cooling from the fan blowing over it.

Pros: The cooling works.

Cons: There's a lot of cons with this heat sink
-Huge pain to install, definitively have never had this much trouble and frustration installing a heat sink. Instructions were not clear and I had to find a video just to realize that there were tiny holes in the heat sink to get to the screws.

-This thing keeps my CPU about as cool as the stock CPU fan that came with my processor did.

-It is overall a hideous piece of equipment, I bought this because of the price and since the reviews seemed pretty good rather than buying a fancy higher end one, although it seems that was a mistake.

-The fans have this extremely annoying issue of changing RPMs constantly when idling which makes two distinct different annoying noises.

-It was suggested that this heat sink was very quiet which is why I bought it. This is however completely false, it is quite loud and annoying.

Other Thoughts: Over all I would suggest any buyer looking to get a decent heat sink to STAY AWAY from this ugly piece of junk. Not worth the money spent on it and you surely are better off with a stock CPU heat sink or possibly anything else.

And if all else the level of noise that comes from it will surely drive you insane.

Pros: -Great packaging and accessories.
-Straight forward and simple installation.
-NF-P14's are quiet

Cons: -Honestly this is a really outdated Heatsink, many single fan and even slim single fan solutions offer the same performance.
-Uses the older Secufirm mounting system instead of the updated one.
-Uses the old style splitters and noise adapters that have exposed wire and aren't fully sleeved.
-The support bracket that was later added is laughable.
-Fans are not PWM, at this price makes no sense.

Other Thoughts: This thing just reeks "old."

The fins are not reinforced in any way like modern Phanteks, Cryorig or even current Noctuas. Therefore they are super easy to bend. The fans are ancient 3 pin P14's and the entire accessory package has remained the same since 2011.

This heatsink performs like a $25 Hyper 212 but at 130mm height. If that's worth it to you go for it but you also lose all accessibility to any and everything around the motherboard if you opt to use the support bracket (which you should).

I went through 2 both of which had quality control issues, the first had dented fins. Someone at the factory was careless installing the top fan and irreversibly bent 4 corners of the heatsink. The 2nd one had terrible solder remnants that poured out and dried near the base + it was missing the rubber sound dampers on the support bracket.

Do yourself a favor and buy a C1, AXP200.

Pros: Very silent, very efficient, directs its airflow toward the motherboard, providing additional cooling for motherboard mounted elements (chipset, memory etc.)
Used with Rosewill BLACKHAWK case, Intel Core i7-4770K and GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H.
Can be used with one or two fans.

Cons: I would think how to fix fan cables. This is not a problem but it requires to fill "Cons".

Pros: Extremely efficient
Quiet under load
Blows air directly onto the mobo
Sturdy and well built

Cons: Large
Pain to install and unistall
When seated bottom fan touches ram

Other Thoughts: I have a ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87, with G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series ram. The bottom fan would come into contact with the ram so I was forced to remove it. This might not be an issue if you have low profile ram, or on certain mobo's. Make sure you have enough room between the cpu and the ram slots before purchasing.
I also had a very difficult time installing, as the heatsink significantly overlapse with the mounting screws to the mounting bracket. Overall though it's a great quality CPU cooler.

Pros: This thing is great! it is very quite and it dropped my CPU temps significantly.

Cons: The only con is that it is ginormous! You should probably verify that it will fit in your case before installing.

Also, if you have a large heatsink on your RAM modules, you will either have to remove the RAM heatsink or the bottom fan from the Noctua.

One nice thing is that if you do have to remove one of the fans from the Noctua, there is an option to mount it as a case fan.

Other Thoughts: I bought an Avatar gaming PC with an AMD 8-core FX processor.

The stock fan setup was barely keeping it within safe operating temperatures (it was bumping 70 degrees C very frequently).. I think this is possibly due to somebody adding too much thermal compound when they installed the heatsink. It was gooping out all around the processor and the processor was glued to the stock heatsink. It took considerable force to pry them apart.

With the Noctua, my case is now quite quiet, and i am getting individual core temps of 15 to 20 C and overall CPU temps of 30 to 40.

A considerable difference!

I would feel comfortable overclocking a bit now. Also, there is an option to reduce the fan speed; so, I may go that route to quieten the case even more. (I do music production at times)

Also, I had considered going with a water cooled solution, but I feel better about this solution because it was less expensive and there is less potentially for failure. I would think.

Pros: Ive had many water cooling setups including custom loops with multiple rads and blocks. Water works well but its bulky and heavy. This Noctua doesnt exactly have a small footprint and is fairly bulky as far as heat sinks go but its not nearly as have as a radiator which makes it much easier to move my case around when needed.

Im very impressed with its ability to keep my i7-4771 around 42-44' C under full load and with the Low Noise Adapter, I cant hear it. I tried the Ultra Low adapter and without an adapter - the ULNA spun at around 500 RPM and worked well but since it was also silent, I put in the LNA which spins at around 750RPM, cools slightly better and is still practically silent. Without any of the adapters and using Asus Fan Expert, it did cool slightly better but was no longer silent. Not terribly loud but this build I did I wanted silence and the LNA adapter accomplished that for me along with choice settings for my other case fans.

This is also the only heat sink of this type that I found would fit my Lian-Li PC-V360B case and it fits perfectly. Using low profile RAM, Im able to use both fans.

The PC-V360 is made for water but after reading many of the reviews and watching many videos of the All In One kits and having had several custom loops, I didnt want to deal with the noise, weight or having to purchase replacement fans. This Noctua fit my needs perfectly, keeps things cool under 24x7 full load and is practically silent. Perfectly happy - so much so that I bought a 2nd for my i7-4770k thats also in a PC-V360

Cons: It is large and will make working inside the case difficult especially when sitting on a micro ATX and adding/removing RAM. It is easy to remove and really how often will you need to add/remove RAM so this is more of a heads up than a con.

Other Thoughts: If you have the room and want the least amount of noise with the most amount of cooling, this thing fits the bill. Some reviews say you shouldnt move your computer around when this is attached due to the weight. Im not suggesting you throw your PC around but Im not concerned about the weight given the bracket and mounting method. It also came with an additional support bracket to evenly distribute the weight on the socket bracket. I wouldnt ship this computer with it attached but normal everyday moving around - no worries. Trip in the car - no worries.
