Teaming up eleven stator guide vanes with a specially conceived seven blade impeller, the NF-F12's Focused Flow system creates outstanding static pressure and focuses the airflow for superior performance on heatsinks and radiators. At the same time, a wide range of advanced aerodynamic design measures, second generation SSO-Bearings and Noctua's new, custom designed PWM IC for fully automatic control guarantee astounding quietness of operation. The NF-F12 comes with modular cabling, integrated anti-vibration pads and two speed settings for full flexibility. Its commanding performance, exhaustive set of features and Noctua's trusted premium quality make it an elite choice for use on air coolers, radiators and other pressure demanding applications.

  • newegg Focused Flow Frame and Heptaperf Impeller Designed for pressure demanding applications such as heatsinks and radiators, the Focused Flow frame features eleven stator guide vanes that straighten, channel and focus the airflow, which allows the NF-F12 to rival the performance of conventional fans running at much faster speeds. The NF-F12’s stator guide vanes are set out in Varying Angular Distance and feature Vortex-Control Notches. Both measures help to spread the noise emission over a broader frequency spectrum and thus make the fan’s sound pattern more agreeable to the human ear. Custom designed for the new Focused Flow frame and to work in tandem with the eleven stator guide vanes, the NF-F12’s seven blade Heptaperf impeller has been carefully optimized to achieve a perfect balance between power and quietness.
  • newegg Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures Noctua’s Stepped Inlet Design adds turbulence to the influx in order to facilitate the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow, which reduces tonal intake noise, improves flow attachment and increases suction capacity, especially in space restricted environments. With the tips of the fan blades ploughing through the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which results in reduced blade passing noise and improved airflow and pressure efficiency. The Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads made from extra-soft silicone minimize the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard mounting systems and fan clips used on heatsinks.
  • newegg SSO2 Bearing and Metal bearing shell The NF-F12 is the first fan to feature the further optimized second generation of Noctua’s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilization, precision and durability. In order to guarantee the highest possible degree of manufacturing precision, minimum tolerance and excellent long-term stability, the NF-F12 sports a CNC milled bearing shell made entirely from brass.
  • newegg Custom designed PWM IC with SCD Supporting fully automatic PWM speed control, the NF-F12 uses Noctua’s novel, custom designed NE-FD1 PWM IC that integrates Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology. By providing smoother torque impulses, SCD suppresses PWM switching noises and thus makes the fan quieter at lower speeds. The NF-F12 is also supplied with a Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A.) that reduces the maximum fan speed from 1500 to 1200rpm. The L.N.A can be used either to run the fan at a fixed speed of 1200rpm or to cap the maximum speed when using automatic PWM control.
  • newegg Ultra-Low Power Consumption The NF-F12 draws only 0.6W, which is more than 50% less than many fans in the same speed range. This doesn’t only make it eco-friendly but also cuts down the electricity bill: Compared to a typical 2W fan, this allows you to save about half the price of the NF-F12 after 5 years of continuous use.
  • newegg Extensive Cabling Options The fan’s short 20cm primary cable minimizes cable clutter in typical applications while the supplied 30cm extension provides extended reach when necessary. Both cables are fully sleeved and a 4-pin y-cable allows you to connect a second NF-F12 fan to the same PWM fan header for automatic control.

5 out of 5 eggsBest fans I could ever buy in any shape or size

Pros: These are worth every penny. I keep trying to save a couple bucks and buy a different fan, and I always end up returning that fan to buy one of these. They are consistent, and quality every time.

Cons: I guess price, but seriously, just spend the money on one of these.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid fans

Pros: They move a lot of air and they're quiet. I've got them all set down to 75% using my board's fan control and I can't even hear them. At 100% you can definitely hear them but it takes some serious stress to have them ramp up.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a quiet build make sure you've got some way to control the fan speed. At 100% anything is going to be loud.

5 out of 5 eggsWow !!!

Pros: Super Silent
Great Airflow
Quality Construction

Cons: That color, that dang color

Other Thoughts: So I don't normally write reviews on here but I just had to after picking up a pair of these to swap out the stock fans on an H100i CPU water cooler. The stock fans on the H100i are pretty loud on medium and on high they're unbearable. After swapping to these, even on high they are silent. And the temps I'm getting are about the same as with the stock fans, so I'm very impressed at the airflow considering they are so much quieter. I'd like if they came in black but you can barely see them at the top of my case anyways through the window so not really a big complaint. I may buy three 140mm ones and replace the rest of the fans in my case if they're this silent and efficient.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Fan

Pros: These fans are great and by far the best ones recommended and from first hand experience (and only having 2 right now with a four fan setup which still keeps my rig at a cool 17c idle and I have two more coming).

Cons: NONE!!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Absolutely silent. When doing a BIOS test of the fans, I jacked this one up to maximum speed (bottom intake), and I could not hear it.

Cons: LED's in the future.

Other Thoughts: If you want a superbly crafted, dead silent, brutally durable product that gets the job done, this is it. No LED's, but I bought it strictly for functionality.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan; ultra-quiet

Pros: See my review on the 140mm. Great fans, quiet and efficient, just what I need.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Love the fact that these fans come with extension cables, voltage reducers, and y-cables. Really great fans.

5 out of 5 eggsXeon Workstation

Pros: Excellent quality.
Six year warranty.
Solid performance.
Quiet operation.

Cons: High price.
Color scheme.
Specialized use.
Not completely silent.

Other Thoughts: I obtained a CPU cooler, the Noctua NH-U12S, which comes with one of these preinstalled. I obtained a second NF-F12 PWM to mount on the cooler in a push pull configuration for exhausting air toward the rear panel of a Raijintek Aeneas cube case housing a Xeon workstation built for content creation.

Calculations show that this cooler equipped with two NF12 fans should allow extended turbo boost sessions without throttling under full load. Since the Xeon E3-1246v3 is 85WTDP, the cooler is more than able to keep the CPU cool, even under full load with very little audible noise.

5 out of 5 eggsBest fan for the money

Pros: Quiet, high flow rates, fluid bearings and built in vibration pads.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: What can you say? These are the best fans on the market. Strong, durable and well built. Been running Noctura fans for the last ten years, NEVER had any noise or vibration, let alone a failure.

5 out of 5 eggsNoctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm Case Fan

Pros: Brick deuce house solid construction!
Beautifully sleeved wires.
RPM limiting adapter.
Y-splitter adapter.
Packaging so cool I took it to work to show people!

Cons: I thought it was expensive until I held it in my hot hands.
Brown color? Nope, status symbol!

Other Thoughts: This is my first Noctua fan. I thought all fans where pretty much the same, until I purchased this bad Larry! I will never buy another cruddy fan... ever . . . EVER!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Quiet, yet sufficiently powerful. Bought 5, and couldn't be happier. Came with all sorts of goodies that most fans don't come with.

Cons: Out of the 5 fans I bought, I'm pretty sure the sound of one of them is s tad off balance, making a off putting noise from the rest. I'll need to inspect it further to confirm this, as it's still in my system, and noises are hard to identify without testing things indivudally. Just know that any moving parts device may have problems. I know if there is a problem Noctua will take care of me.
