The NH-L9i is a premium quality quiet CPU cooler for Intel LGA115x based HTPCs and Small Form Factor systems. At a super-low profile of only 37mm, the NH-L9i is ideal for extremely slim cases and due to its 95x95mm footprint, it provides full compatibility with tall RAM modules and VGA cards on mini-ITX mainboards. The custom designed SecuFirm2™ mounting system for LGA115x makes installation a child's play and thanks to the highly optimised NF-A9x14 premium fan that supports fully automatic speed control via PWM, the NH-L9i runs remarkably quiet. Topped off with Noctua's renowned NT-H1 thermal compound, the NH-L9i fuses everything users have come to expect from Noctua's larger coolers into a super-compact package for slim HTPC systems.

5 out of 5 eggscomputer tech

Pros: LOVE NOCTUA they make amazing heatsinks, my stock cooler only gave me 36 on idle which i felt was too much for not doing anything, I replaced that junk with one of these and it is like night and day, i was idling at 26-28 and during gaming loads was getting about 42degrees amazing heat sink

Cons: the heat sink is too low for the motherboard, had to return it and stick with a rosewill low profile heat sink which only dropped the temp down to 33 which isnt that bad, considering it was only half the price.

Other Thoughts: GREAT HEATSINK, easy to install

5 out of 5 eggsquality

Pros: -Very solid quality and assembly
-Aesthetically pleasing
-Virtually silent
-Improves cooling

Cons: -Have to flip mobo to install
-Cooling gains are not massive - if you need more cooling and have a little extra space, go for something with a larger heat sink

Other Thoughts: You need to be mindful of how you install it, as it blows heat on other components.

5 out of 5 eggsworth it

Pros: perfect size fit like a glove on my Gigabyte Z97MX gaming 5 motherboard.

is really quite at full load cant even hear it in my rosewill micro atx case. with 1x90mm fan and 1x120mm fan running full speed at same time the whole system is very quite. installation took less than 5 mins and keeps my core i3 4150 3.5ghz dual core very cool under full load never see it leave the 50c range. at idle it sometimes goes to 28c and thats with all the power saving junk turned off in the bios to keep it at a solid 3.5ghz for the cpu depending on my room temperature, but temps will always vary depending on your case and fans etc etc room temp etc etc is the cpu lapped etc etc so its hard to really tell someone how well it will work for them. for my case it works very well

Cons: none, not even the price, you get what you pay for which is top quality, i never purchased a heatsink of this high class before better than zalman and cooler master.

Other Thoughts: you get a case badge. and the bottom of the heatsink looked flawless very flat no defects.

3 out of 5 eggsLooks great - But missing a screw!

Pros: Looks good, feels like quality, good packaging

Cons: Missing one of the 4 mounting screws! So I can't comment on performance.

Waiting on resolution from Newegg/Noctua. Unfortunate that one screw delays my whole build. Possibly considering a temporary replacement..

I will update this review after resolution.

Other Thoughts: This may be a double post.. It appears my previous post did not publish.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet fan!!

Pros: - Low profile design and very quiet
- Device feels solid when holding this device
- Keeps Haswell 4th gen i3-4350 at 32c at Idle and 60c when under full load
- comes with cable extensions and low noise adapter.

Cons: - Little trickey to hold and attach to board at same time. It bolts from the bottom with supplied screws
- Fan blows down and out the side vents so make sure nothing blocks those vents.

Other Thoughts: The new Haswells (4th gen) run a little hotter in my opinion but this fan cools down the CPU very quickly when load has been lowered. I am impressed how quiet this fan is in a small case since its being used as an HTPC .
But do not buy this if you plan to over clock for gaming, it will
Not cool it effectively.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well if...

Pros: Works well if you install it correctly. I had to turn the CPU cooler around so that the vents blow the air out the sides toward the outside vents of the case. The fan blows the air down forcing it out the sides. Due to the mini-ITX motherboard design I had to rotate the cPU cooler so it would not blow against the RAM.

Cons: None that I can think of. Little tricky holding it in place while trying to screw it down.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fan has low clearance, keeps the CPU at a very cool temp after installation, and is quite (other than a low hum from the fan). Is a stellar heat sink if you're in the market for one when you have clearance issues.

Cons: Need to mount from the back of the mobo. Slight pain but keeps it safe and secure.

5 out of 5 eggsMini ITX build

Pros: Keeps my cpu below 70c without killing my available space. In my lian-li tu100 this is a big deal.
It's very sturdy and well main.

Cons: Price? It's worth it for the quality.
The color isn't very attractive but beggars and choosers.
