- it would be interesting to see Noctua create a snug somewhere along the fan or the heatsink itself to hide the cable away so it doesn't flop around like it owns the place (but that's a design issue, not a product issue)

Pros: I'm building a HTPC using mini ITX z170i Asus and a skylark 4core 65watt CPU. While this fans 65 max wattage would seen ok, it does keep the caps on on of the two corners without a path of cooling air. Stick with the stock por get a bigger casze and find a taller cooler that circulates 360 and you should be fine. Also use the CPU power socket closest to the corner. There are 2 right next to each other and the other one made my stock fan herky jerky. Probably for case fans. The one near the edge of the board it the correct one.

Cons: Design blocks two side almost to chip level so there's no circulation to any components blocked.

Other Thoughts: Asus z170i Boards from Neg egg have no instructions and no driver disk. Not much of a problem but I've built about 700 different servers atc.

Pros: I bought this for a low profile mini itx motherboard and case. It overhangs the socket a little bit but is well clear of the main memory or any other components. With the low RPM adapter the fan is virtually silent when idle, and reasonably quite under full load.

My idle temperatures with a 65 watt i3 6300 CPU is almost exactly 30c. Under 11 minutes of combined prie95 with small ffts and furmark in GPU burn test the temperatures peaked at 88c. For what I intend to use the computer for, that is acceptable. If you are going using a processor with a TDP greater than 65 watts, or you are planning to put your 65 watt CPU under load for extended periods of time, this cooler won't cut it.

The cooler is must be mounted on the board outside of the case, but otherwise it is really easy to install. High quality components and packaging. It even came with a fancy metal case badge. I will be buying notcua again, very pleased.

Cons: For me, none.

Pros: I bought two of these for i7 4790Ks even though they're only rated for 65 watts TDP or less. They are extremely quiet. My CPUs (not overclocked) idle at 29-31c and playing Fallout 4 at 33-35c. I quit the game and had Speccy running already and that's what it read so maybe it goes a couple degrees higher. Stressing the cpu's with CPUz will top the temps out at about 73c after a few minutes. That's a bit warm but I read 90-100c is when to worry, and anything is better than the loud stock intel coolers. Installation is really simple. No brackets. Just screw it in through the back of the mobo. Doesn't touch the RAM.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: There is enough thermal paste (grey/silver in color) for a pea size application with a little left over. Excellent packaging with dense grey foam. They are barely audible with the case off and I did not use the noise dampening cable that came with the coolers. The coolers are of high-quality construction and heavy. I'm a new Noctua fan.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace the CPU cooler that came with my CPU. Installation is a breeze and the cooler is easily removable. The size of this helps free up a small amount of space, that would have otherwise been taken up by much bigger CPU coolers. This cooler comes with Thermal Paste and a special cord that limits the RPM's so it doesn't become so audible. There really isn't too much to tell here, you get a little extra for what you pay for, and it does its job extremely well. My only problem with this product is the factory set color, which doesn't blend well with anything in most PC setups. If they offered this in black, it would be perfect.

Cons: There is always one side being blocked. Either the RAM or the CPU power supply heatsink. Luckily, this wont influence the cooling much

Pros: I bought this for my HTPC to cool my CPU. It fit very well into the small case I had it enclosed in and the fan makes not noise what-so-ever unless you hold your ear right up to the case itself. Keeps the CPU nice and cool as well. Installation was really fast.

Cons: There really was nothing I did not like about this product.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend to anyone who has a small form factor case that needs a great cooling solution.

Pros: The heatsink fits the socket perfectly. Mounting is precise and easy. There are no clearance issues with anything around the socket, including memory, capacitors and PCIe. 40 degrees C idle temp, ~55 full load.

Cons: Fan was great for a year. It now makes grinding noises like a few of the other reviewers have noted. Will try for a warranty replacement with the fan since it says 6 years so we'll see!

Other Thoughts: The packaging was 1000% overkill. Thick cardboard with monster padding inside. It would be a great box for a Faberge egg or something.

Pros: Noctua quality; reasonable price, mostly favorable reviews at all web sites

Cons: This cooler won't bring my CPU to ambient temperature but, after a few days for the thermal paste to melt in, it remains in low 30s 9Celsius, of course)

Other Thoughts: Most Intel CPUs run hot, especially the latest ones due to the narrow thickness and continuing defiance of companies to conform to Moore's Law. I only have a 4790 on an 1150 motherboard in a Mini-ITX case but I wanted it that way. I usually build a PC every 2 or 3 years so why spend a pile of money just to be the leader of the pack for a few months? The machine is plenty fast enough for me, running an SSD on WIndows 10 with a Nvidia960 and 16 GB RAM. I don't overclock much either so what's the point in getting liquid cooling? I'm too old to have a sugar mama to give me a hefty allowance for my passions. Even after a heavy load of multi-tasking, the temps drop down to the low 30s fast enough for me. I chose wisely so the cooler and all the other parts didn't break the bank either.
