Pros: Just wow. Very very silent as low as 23.6db at 2500rpm. 2500rpm is a decent Rpm range for a ''Silent'' cpu fan. And also when you install their proprietary Thermal Paste the temperature goes as low as 65 degree Celcius. It's been 2 weeks now since I changed the Thermal Paste and temperature went down from 80 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees. My cpu is a AMD FX-8320e which has a Max Temp treshold of 90 degree Celsius. Please see the others section to understand why the temperature was so high at 80 degree Celsius.

Cons: There is no cons.

Other Thoughts: I tried Artic Cooling thermal paste that was 3 years old or more at first thinking that it would be better then the Noctua proprietary Thermal Paste. So I presume that its the Artic Cooling thermal paste that was just past it's peremption date because it used to also be awesome. But seriously I am amazed by the results of this thing. Made in Austria pretty cool huh.

Pros: -Fits nearly any case and mobo on the market.
-Adequate cooling performance.
-Really, really quiet.

Cons: -Cooling performance is merely adequate instead of excellent.
-Installation/mounting of the cooler is annoying, but that's life with low profile equipment.

Other Thoughts: Picked the NH-L9a because it fit easily inside the case I was purchasing and Noctua has reputation for quality and quiet fans. The NH-L9a definitely delivers, but I can still wish for slightly better cooling performance and an easier mounting method.

Pros: Small... hardly even notice it's there. And it cools your APU in that tiny little ITX area without bothering the RAM or PSU. I have it in a Lian Li TU-200B and its just perfect because it doesn't raise up high off the processor or get near any other components.

Cons: None... good luck finding one. Price, you say? Don't make me laugh. It's a Noctua!

Other Thoughts: You will get high performance, low profile, and a big smile on your face when you see how easy it is to install.

Pros: I used this CPU cooler in a living room computer. It's not a low profile HTPC, but I thought I might move it to a smaller case later. My main concern was that it was quiet, and in that respect, this cooler is great. It silently cools the computer with no problems. I use Noctua fans almost exclusively, so this was no surprise. This machine is an AMD A6, so it's not making a ton of heat anyway. The cooler fit the AMD FM1 mount with no problems or additional hardware required.

Cons: However...after less than 1 year, the fan has failed. It still runs, but requires help to get it started.

Other Thoughts: I'm not limiting the fan speed in any way, so it should be able to start at boot. The fan, heatsink, and the computer have been dusted/cleaned. I'm thinking the bearing is shot, which is not typical of Noctua. I was going to replace the fan with the exact part (Noctua NF-A9x14) but I think maybe I'll get something that spins a little faster to prevent the same failure.

Pros: This fan can keep the APU(A10-7850k) cool. The only time you can hear the fan is when the RPMs go up during gaming. The low profile fan was small enough to fit into M350 Universal Mini-ITX enclosure with room for an SSD as well. Running the APU at 95watts TDP.

Cons: Price.The color may be ugly for some. Requires some installation patience. some will need to mount the back plate that comes for some Motherboards.

Other Thoughts: Running the APU at 65/45 watts will make this fan almost silent even during gaming. Its hard to hear the fan at all during general use. highly recommend for a mini ITX build where space is an issue. Well worth the price.

Pros: Very quiet, seems like high quality material, great fan for the price.

Cons: 6 months after purchase, the fan stopped working. If I give it a nudge, it will start but only up to 200 rpm which will not keep anything cooled.

Other Thoughts: Would like to try them again since a lot of colleagues recommend them but since this fan died and another case fan from noctua is starting to make noises like the ball bearing is failing, thinking about spending my money elsewhere.

Pros: low profile and that's it period.

i gave this heatsink an honest run thrue and after all this time heres what i think.

Cons: i wondered why my temps were not improving over the stock Intel heatsink on my core i3-4150.

guess what turns out the bottom of this noctua heatsink that i recieved is garbage. no joke their was a visable curve protruding from the bottom of the heatsink when held up to a light source witch was making only a tiny part of the metal come in contact with the cpu i was so dissapointed that this company would even let this pass QA department. i had to sit their and sand the hell out of this sink to even get it flush with the rest of the base. they either dont check these for QA or the engineer's dont know what lapping is and why they shouldn't have to force that on customers.

turns out the sanding was a pointless effort because a few months down the road the fan began a loud rattling sound wich means the bearings are shot. replacing the fan was a joke i looked here on newegg for the nocuta 92mm fan i figured i would just buy a replacement after i solved the lapping issue i LOL so hard they wanted $26.99 for the exact same fan this thing comes with thats half the price for this heatsink package i said forget that, and bought a Hyper 212 evo.

Other Thoughts: i should have just bought a cooler master hyper 212 evo for 34$ instead i figured i would go out on a limb to try another company's product that all i hear is good things about.....psh the limb i choose snapped hard.....wont be climbing the Noctua tree ever again.

Pros: Low profile
Efficient

Cons: Not reliable. Fan failed after 8 months of usage.

Other Thoughts: Save your money and get something with better quality fans.

Pros: I purchased this due to all the other reviews and am very happy I did. The machine it went into is placed in my living room as a Plex/Steam box.

After building the PC - with it sitting right next to me, I couldn't hear the fan unless I tried. In it's place on my TV stand, I can't hear it what so ever.

Temps are exactly what I expected for my CPU, in fact they seem to be even better than what review sites were reporting. On idle I get about 35c and under load, playing games on Steam or using Plex, I've seen it reach about 44-45c.

Very impressed with this cooler and highly recommend it.

Cons: The only downside, and I knew about it beforehand after reading reviews and watching install videos, is the installation on AMD mobo's. You have to remove the back plate and attach this with the fan laying on the table. Easy enough to do, but still not the biggest fan of doing so. Not enough to knock an egg since it works and do so very well.

Other Thoughts: Considering this is priced competitively, at least when I bought it, I can't imagine another cooler.

Pros: No Issues At All.

Cons: None.
