Designed for discerning users and gaming professionals, the Noctua NF-A14 FLX case fan incorporates a host of design innovation and technology to achieve first rate thermal and acoustic performance in your powerhouse. The NF-A14 complies with Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) standard. It features square shape and 140mm mounting holes (124.5mm spacing) for use on watercooling radiators or as an upgrade for 140mm case fans. The NF-A14 further improves the renowned quiet cooling performance of the award-winning NF-P14 with sophisticated aerodynamic design measures. The FLX version provides 1200/1050/900rpm speed settings via the supplied Low-Noise Adaptors in order to provide full flexibility in fine-tuning the fan for maximum ventilation performance or near-silent operation. Its superb running smoothness, reference-class SSO2 bearing and Noctua’s trusted premium quality make it an elite choice for the highest demands.

  • newegg Succeeding the award-winning NF-P14 Noctua’s NF-P14 fan has become a default-choice among PC enthusiasts looking for a premium quality quiet 140mm fan. Thanks to its thoroughgoing aerodynamic optimisations, the NF-A14 provides higher static pressure and an even better airflow/noise ratio than its much acclaimed predecessor.
  • newegg Cools quietly Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua’s unique Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan’s performance/noise efficiency. And the latest version of Noctua’s advanced Smooth Commutation Drive system ensures superb running smoothness by eliminating torque variations and switching noises.
  • newegg SSO2 Bearing The NF-A4x10 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua’s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
  • newegg 3 speed settings for full flexibility Providing 1200, 1050 and 900 rpm speed settings via the supplied Low-Noise and Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptors, the NF-A14 FLX (Flexibility) can be fine-tuned for superior airflow or maximum quietness.
  • newegg Extensive Cabling Options The fan’s short 20cm primary cable minimises cable clutter in typical applications while the supplied 30cm extension provides extended reach when necessary. Both cables are fully sleeved.
  • newegg Ultra-Low Power Consumption Despite of its further improved performance, the NF-A14 FLX consumes only 0.96W of power, which amounts to a reduction of about 20% as compared to its predecessor. This doesn’t only make it eco-friendly but also helps to cut down the electricity bill!

5 out of 5 eggsa fan you can depend on

Pros: I have several of these fans. They perform well they are not noisy and they run for a very long time.
I have some Noctua fans that are 7 years old still running strong. You get what you pay for with these and its worth it

Cons: ugly!

Yeah I wish they would give some color options.

Other Thoughts: I have yet to have a Noctua fan fail. The company has impressed me in numerous ways. Just buy them

4 out of 5 eggsBest fans, bad price and worse packaging

Pros: Unmatched quality, superbly quiet, moves decent air given its lack of sound, comes with lots of accessories. The epitome of quality. Yes, I know I am speaking in absolutes, but I assure you, I am no shrill (see cons). I own dozens of Noctua fans and several heatsinks. There is no one even close as far as the quality. No one.

Cons: Price, packaging. Let's talk about this, Noctua. I see other companies responding to users' reviews, so hopefully you read these. You are the gold standard in quiet fans, and everyone knows that. You probably make fans that are in the top three, quality-wise, if not higher, out of every other manufacture on earth. But your prices are absurd, and every "con" in a review online mentions price. How much retail sales volume do you do? That is to say, how many fans do you sell to stores who put your products on shelves for people to see? I bet you sell more online and via drop shipment than you do retail sales. So why the retail packaging? The heatsinks I get from you come packaged like you'd find them in the fine leather accessory bag in the trunk of a Mercedes-Benz when you drive it off the lot. Yet, right after installation, I throw the packaging away. The fans I buy from you have boxes that are hinged on two sides and have fancy pictures and colorful print all over the place. Yet all that packaging is now in my garbage can on the curb. How much does it cost you to produce this fancy packaging, and how much of that cost is passed onto the customer? Seriously, trim down your fancy and expensive packaging and ship me my fans and heatsinks in plain white cardboard boxes. I don't need a fancy expensive box to know that the product I am getting from you is quality. All research done online points to that. No need to dress up your products for web vendors and mail order sites, I am not in a store being woo'd by your fancy boxes. I do not need an $8 colorful box to tell me your product is what I have been looking for for so long, I am buying your stuff for a reason. Put that $8 per product into more R&D and continue leading the pack in quiet accessories.

Other Thoughts: Geeks like to keep the boxes of their fancy motherboards and graphics cards to display them in their rooms. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, but its true, for reasons inexplicable and lost on me. No offense, but these are just fans. Lose the expensive customer-bait retail packaging and knock $8 off the price of each of your products. Your customers will thank you and be able to buy more. Plus you'll get less cons in these reviews. We know your stuff is good, we don't need shock-and-awe when we open the shipping boxes (and read our invoices).

2 out of 5 eggsAll 4 were the wrong fan!

Pros: If I was looking to the PWM version, I would have been happy to save the $1 difference!

Cons: All four that I ordered came in as the NF-A14 PWM, and two of them were even in the PWM box! Luckily Newegg refunded me for two of them at this point. Still waiting for the other two...

3 out of 5 eggsMissing parts.

Pros: Amazing fans, I always recommend noctua heatsinks and fans over all others.

Cons: -Price
I'm not blaming newegg for this at all, this is noctua's quality control. Ok so i ordered 3 of these fans and upon opening the boxes i noticed that 2 fans were pwm and the other was a 3 pin which is strange, the box says they should all be 3 pins. That's not the only issue, all of the boxes had different accessories... One had 1 low-noise adapter, extension. 1 had a low noise, ultra low noise and extension, and the last has a 3pin to molex adapter, extension and low noise. Should they all come with the same parts? I don't understand, i think the people at noctua got some parts mixed up and packaged it like this. Also the boxs all said the same information and the same parts that "were" supposed to be included, yet it was all different.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing fans

Pros: These fans are pretty amazing. Quiet, even on their highest RPM setting, which is important for me.

Cons: None come to mind

Other Thoughts: Some may scoff at the price, "All for a fan," but I've had Noctua fans in my previous computers and they are still running. I built a HTPC in 2005 that still has the same Noctua fans in it that are still running. With other brand's fans, I find myself replacing them every 2-3 years because they start vibrating and making a ton of noise. Save yourself some headache and money in the long run and get Noctua Fans. You can use them in future builds.
