Designed for discerning users and gaming professionals, the Noctua NF-A14 FLX case fan incorporates a host of design innovation and technology to achieve first rate thermal and acoustic performance in your powerhouse. The NF-A14 complies with Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) standard. It features square shape and 140mm mounting holes (124.5mm spacing) for use on watercooling radiators or as an upgrade for 140mm case fans. The NF-A14 further improves the renowned quiet cooling performance of the award-winning NF-P14 with sophisticated aerodynamic design measures. The FLX version provides 1200/1050/900rpm speed settings via the supplied Low-Noise Adaptors in order to provide full flexibility in fine-tuning the fan for maximum ventilation performance or near-silent operation. Its superb running smoothness, reference-class SSO2 bearing and Noctua’s trusted premium quality make it an elite choice for the highest demands.

  • newegg Succeeding the award-winning NF-P14 Noctua’s NF-P14 fan has become a default-choice among PC enthusiasts looking for a premium quality quiet 140mm fan. Thanks to its thoroughgoing aerodynamic optimisations, the NF-A14 provides higher static pressure and an even better airflow/noise ratio than its much acclaimed predecessor.
  • newegg Cools quietly Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua’s unique Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan’s performance/noise efficiency. And the latest version of Noctua’s advanced Smooth Commutation Drive system ensures superb running smoothness by eliminating torque variations and switching noises.
  • newegg SSO2 Bearing The NF-A4x10 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua’s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
  • newegg 3 speed settings for full flexibility Providing 1200, 1050 and 900 rpm speed settings via the supplied Low-Noise and Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptors, the NF-A14 FLX (Flexibility) can be fine-tuned for superior airflow or maximum quietness.
  • newegg Extensive Cabling Options The fan’s short 20cm primary cable minimises cable clutter in typical applications while the supplied 30cm extension provides extended reach when necessary. Both cables are fully sleeved.
  • newegg Ultra-Low Power Consumption Despite of its further improved performance, the NF-A14 FLX consumes only 0.96W of power, which amounts to a reduction of about 20% as compared to its predecessor. This doesn’t only make it eco-friendly but also helps to cut down the electricity bill!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing fans

Pros: These fans are pretty amazing. Quiet, even on their highest RPM setting, which is important for me.

Cons: None come to mind

Other Thoughts: Some may scoff at the price, "All for a fan," but I've had Noctua fans in my previous computers and they are still running. I built a HTPC in 2005 that still has the same Noctua fans in it that are still running. With other brand's fans, I find myself replacing them every 2-3 years because they start vibrating and making a ton of noise. Save yourself some headache and money in the long run and get Noctua Fans. You can use them in future builds.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Awesome fan! I bought one for my Fractal R5 Define and comparing it to the stock Fracal Case fans this one is 10x better. I put my hand next to the 2 fans to see if i'll notice a difference in the amount of air they move... And I did! The 2 were at same noise lvl (silent) but the difference in the amount of air the Noctua moved compared to the stock Fractal was roughtly twice+ (3x more) They might've been spinning at diff rpms I don't know... I'm just letting u guys know what I noticed by having my hand next to 2 of them in my case with the HDD cages off..

Cons: Price. A lil bit steep otherwise i'd have 9 of them in my case

5 out of 5 eggsA really great fan

Pros: Pretty much silent, even at the highest speed. Moves a decent amount of air for being totally silent. Comes with regular fan screws and rubber (silicone?) mounting pegs if you don't want to use the screws. Also comes with various adapters including low speed/low noise adapters. I don't know why you'd need a low speed/noise adapter considering how quiet this thing is at full speed....

Cons: A big honking fan. I remember when 140mm fans started coming out my friends & I made jokes about them wondering what the heck a fan that big would be good for.

Seriously, though, the only drawback is that if you're using one of these then you have a really big hole somewhere in your case. This fan may be silent, but the other parts inside your case may not be and their sound has a big hole to come out of. Not a con of this fan, just a con of all 140mm fans in general if you put them on the side of a case.

I guess another drawback is the famed Noctua color scheme that goes with nothing in your case and stands out like a sore thumb. You know that already, though, if you've seen the pics.

Other Thoughts: Recently upgraded the GPU video card in one of my rigs from on-board Intel to a GTX 970. Due to the increased heat production I figured I'd open up the top hole in my Fractal Design Design Mini and put this guy in to add some increased airflow. Works like a charm!

5 out of 5 eggsone fan to rule them all

Pros: these fans move soo much air, but the insane thing is how quiet they are!!! i plugged in a "standard" 120mm fan, and even with 6 of these bad boys in my case, the 120mm was all that i could hear!!
i have used so many fans i've lost count: noctua quality is unparalleled.

Cons: still not convinced with the colour. would love a black/white fan to match my 780T

Other Thoughts: these are the only fans i use.

5 out of 5 eggsBest fans

Pros: Best Fans I have ever bought. Move tons of air and can't even hear them. You have to put an ear to them to hear them.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Seriously .. these are creme of the crop. alot of people not keen on the color.
These things reek engineering and quality.
But Ill take performance over glittery blinking fans any day. I have used corsair, antec, nzxt and they don't come close to these when it comes to amount of air moved and how quite these are.
They give you attachment for reducing the noise even more at the cost of rpm's, but really you wont need them.
