Designed for discerning users and gaming professionals, the Noctua NF-A14 FLX case fan incorporates a host of design innovation and technology to achieve first rate thermal and acoustic performance in your powerhouse. The NF-A14 complies with Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) standard. It features square shape and 140mm mounting holes (124.5mm spacing) for use on watercooling radiators or as an upgrade for 140mm case fans. The NF-A14 further improves the renowned quiet cooling performance of the award-winning NF-P14 with sophisticated aerodynamic design measures. The FLX version provides 1200/1050/900rpm speed settings via the supplied Low-Noise Adaptors in order to provide full flexibility in fine-tuning the fan for maximum ventilation performance or near-silent operation. Its superb running smoothness, reference-class SSO2 bearing and Noctua’s trusted premium quality make it an elite choice for the highest demands.

  • newegg Succeeding the award-winning NF-P14 Noctua’s NF-P14 fan has become a default-choice among PC enthusiasts looking for a premium quality quiet 140mm fan. Thanks to its thoroughgoing aerodynamic optimisations, the NF-A14 provides higher static pressure and an even better airflow/noise ratio than its much acclaimed predecessor.
  • newegg Cools quietly Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua’s unique Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan’s performance/noise efficiency. And the latest version of Noctua’s advanced Smooth Commutation Drive system ensures superb running smoothness by eliminating torque variations and switching noises.
  • newegg SSO2 Bearing The NF-A4x10 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua’s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
  • newegg 3 speed settings for full flexibility Providing 1200, 1050 and 900 rpm speed settings via the supplied Low-Noise and Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptors, the NF-A14 FLX (Flexibility) can be fine-tuned for superior airflow or maximum quietness.
  • newegg Extensive Cabling Options The fan’s short 20cm primary cable minimises cable clutter in typical applications while the supplied 30cm extension provides extended reach when necessary. Both cables are fully sleeved.
  • newegg Ultra-Low Power Consumption Despite of its further improved performance, the NF-A14 FLX consumes only 0.96W of power, which amounts to a reduction of about 20% as compared to its predecessor. This doesn’t only make it eco-friendly but also helps to cut down the electricity bill!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan

Pros: This fan is quiet and works well with the Zalman MFC. Buy this fan over the Noctua NH-U14S - it's quieter.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsquiet...very quiet

Pros: Nearly silent even at full speed. Includes both low noise and ultra low noise adapter, but without adapters dB still less the 20. Adapters reduce noise by 4 and 7 dB approximately. Would be perfect for a media center PC.

Cons: has power cable extension, but for wider cases or side mount applications cable was just long enough.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfect and keeps quiet!

Pros: As expected from Noctua, these fans fun quiet and move a lot of air. They ramp up in speed (but also noise) but that's just the way it is. Comes with a nice extension cable if you need it and adapters to fit your needs if you don't have a controller or a program set up.

Cons: That brown and beige colouring has never looked good in a case. If you want your fans to be seen, these might not look the best in most cases.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it's what I expected. They do a fantastic job of moving air and keeping as quiet as you can get at certain speeds but you have to realize they will look like dirt in most cases.

4 out of 5 eggsVery silent

Pros: Extremely silent at 5 and 7 Volts. However, if you are using a fan controller with voltage control (this happens with the Define R4 Fan controller in my case), the fans will not spin up if you start the computer while they are set to 5 volts. At 7 volts they are very silent. There is a negligible difference in sound between 5V and 7V.

Cons: They don't move a massive amount of air, but the amount of air they move is extremely adequate (at 7V). At 12V they are very very loud, but they move more air, which is expected.

Other Thoughts: After using these fans I can finally hear my hard drive, and i've come to the conclusion that my hard drive is too loud.

Sigh....

5 out of 5 eggsQuietest Fan I've Ever Used

Pros: Very quiet fans
Great air flow
Comes with anti-vibration rubber padding

Cons: A bit pricey, especially when you want to replace all of your case fans.

Other Thoughts: I wish they made it in black instead of brown.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Fans

Pros: Extremely quiet (silent), even at max speed.
Great airflow.
Well built, very sturdy.

Cons: Absolutely nothing... except...
Color Scheme: Tan/Brown, but if they're out of view it doesn't really matter.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these fans to add to my Fractal Design Define R4 Case. I ended up using the included two Fractal Design Silent Series R2 140mm fans for rear and top exhaust, and these two Noctua fans on the front intake. Very easy to install, for my case front intake there is a plastic tray where 140mm fans can be snapped into place. I had to remove the rubber noise dampeners on the corners of these fans. Even without the rubber pads the fans are almost completely silent, even at full speed.

I thought the Fractal fans were pretty quiet, but these are even quieter. At full speed the Fractal fans make more audible noise than the Noctuas which are truly silent no matter what speed. Totally worth the money if you're looking for an excellent case fan that is always quiet.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet Fan

Pros: Keeps my PC cool and is a very quiet fan.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased this fan to replace the front intake fan in my Lian-Li case. The fan I had was the Las Vegas Blue LED fan which had a nice 3D like LED effect, but it was too loud. I installed this fan and connected it to my AeroCool Touch 2000 controller which eliminates the need for the included speed adapters and I almost cannot hear the PC running. My other 2 fans are the cougar quiet series. If you are looking to make your PC quiet, this is the fan to get. It may be a little on the $$ side, but well worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fans

Pros: Very quiet under 12v.
Lots of airflow with restricted intake.

Cons: Price, but you get what you pay for.
Kinda loud at 12v, but not unbearable by any means.

Other Thoughts: I want a silent HTPC and I'm using a Fractal Design R4. The installed case fans are noisy at 12v and that was needed to keep the GPU cool (last noisy part of the build). These are running at 7v and are silent. The also keep the GPU about 5-6 degrees cooler as well.

HTPC:
i5-3570K
MSI P67 GD-45
16 GB G.Skill RAM
EVGA GTX 480
Seasonic 760W Platinum
OCZ Vertex II SSD for OS
6TB Storage

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful FAN

Pros: Great build quality, This is what I expect for this kind of $$$ Massive airflow and very quite.

Cons: The color is the brand, so I don't want to say it's a con... but, I wish they had back and gray color schemes as an option

Other Thoughts: I'd buy more when and if needed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Moves way more air and is super quite compared to my old 120mm exhaust fan.

Cons: It's hard to use the rubber mounts because there is no room to pull the ends through so I had to use the screws instead. Still doesn't make any kind of sound when it's running.

Other Thoughts: The color difference looks great in my black Bitfenix Shinobi XL. If you decide to screw this fan to the case instead of using the rubber adapters you need to use the screws that came with it because the mounting holes are not threaded and the screws they give you are self tapping.
