2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Decent construction quality, excellent packaging, wonderful instructions. The actual mounting system for the heatsink itself was absolutely the easiest I have encountered yet. Which is odd considering the fan mounting system is absolutely the worse thing I have ever seen. If not the cheapest, it's like they're design department just threw their hands up, and when with the cheapest thing possible to mount the fan to the heatsink.

Cons: The problem is, that this cooler just will not work for me in a push/pull configuration without an annoying buzzing noise, loud enough to be heard across the room, inside a case with 6 other fans running at full blast. I have installed and reinstalled the provided fan and another noctua 140mm pressure optimized fan in push and pull and push/pull configurations, and no matter what I do, cannot get the buzzing to stop. With 1 fan in the cooler seems to work ok, but that leaves me with an extra noctua fan just laying around, since I have no room in the case for it :(

Other Thoughts: The fan mounting system for this cooler is absolutely terrible. I don't know what Noctua was thinking, using such a tiny little wire to mount these nice fans. That's the reason for the 2 star rating, from a company that manufacture's such high quality (although they're still hideous) fans, I expected a lot more than I got. They need to go back to the drawing board for the fan mounts (and the fan colors, but they've known that from the beginning and just dont care)

I can't really recommend this cooler, not with the buzzing sound it makes in push/pull, and not with such a half a**'ed fan mounting system.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic !

Pros: not too big for an aftermarket cooler. easily clears my sniper ram on all 4 slots on my gigabyte z97 black mobo.
Every fin was perfectly aligned , not a single thing out of specs or even a single blemish. actually the packaging was better then some of the competitions actual product as far as the thought and detail that they put into things - total pro's . Every one know about Noctuas cooling abilities - I have two black Noctua 2000rpm industrial fans in push pull on a 14S and I will put that up against a H100 water cooler anyday.

Cons: not a fan of the color of the fan . replaced with 2 140 Noctua industrial black fans running at 1500 rpm

5 out of 5 eggsExtreme Awesomeness

Pros: This heatsink is out of this world amazing. Shipped in exceptional packaging and there was no damage to the product including the delicate radiator. It was also fairly easy to install with easy to understand instructions. This was my first time installing a tower heat sink and there were absolutely no issues (except one see cons).

My temps dropped 25C under load not going any higher then 56C. I'd recommend this or any other Noctua products to anyone; I'd even by a bedroom fan if they made one... do they make one?

If you are looking for a non-liquid heatsink, this is the one. I have only the stock cooler to compare it to but this thing rocks. Whisper quite and it looks like there is a motorcycle engine on my motherboard... no really it looks cool. Awesome.

Cons: This is a big unit so make sure it fits in your case. I measured prior to ordering it and I still couldn't believe the size when it arrived. For reference, imagine that you are mounting your face over your CPU.... maybe not quite that much but you get the point; it's big. I guess that the large size is one of the reasons why it works so well.

One small thing; the install was easy but there was a slight, minor issues getting the mounting screws to catch... probably because I was worried about pushing hard.

Other Thoughts: Buy this. You will not regret it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Fan

Pros: Decent fan and comes with a lot of accessories, rubber bumpers, rubber mounts, extension cable, etc.

Cons: Not as quiet as the Noctua NF-A14 FLX. One of the 3 I bought had a rather unpleasant noise when given any voltage from my Zalman MFC. Swapped the troublemaker out for an extra NF-A14 FLX I had.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfection

Pros: - cooling capacity
-low noise
-easy installation

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: -it is huge, you have to check the space available before you order. It just fits into a pretty large Antec 1200 case.
I only use NOCTUA cpu coolers and never had any issues.
Masterful design and performance

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 1. Keeps the 4770K and 4790K nice and cool
2. Quiet

Cons: 1. Finicky installation (spring-loaded screws for mounting)
2. Interferes with the RAM slots nearest to the CPU on some boards (MSi Z87-GD65, Asus Z97 Deluxe) so that only one set of dual threaded slots are available.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler

Pros: Very quiet. Great cooling. Great build quality. Doesn't block ram slots.

Cons: Noctua fans are so ugly.

Other Thoughts: Installed on an i7 4790k and an asus maximus vii hero. This thing is pretty massive. Make sure you have enough room in your case.

5 out of 5 eggsA beast in both senses

Pros: - I cannot believe how much this thing cools... it almost seems like magic.

- Unbelievably quiet. With the LNA (which I don't use, see below), I cannot hear at all to the point I have to open my case door (or look through it there's light) to see if it's running at all.

- Comes with two standard base kits for AMD and Intel motherboards.

- Adjustable fan. Depending on the direction of airflow for your cases, you can control which way the fan pushes air through the heatsink.

- Secondary additional fan. You can add a secondary fan to the heatsink. I doubt it would do much though and it's not included by default. You'd have to buy it separately. Kudos for NOT including it as it reduced cost most likely.

Cons: - This will be the first review I've made that has no major cons. This thing is simply amazing.

- The mounting bars are hard to place. Once you get one side down, the other becomes easy. There's no support to hold them up on my motherboard. You can use a screw thread to hold one up but then you don't have one for the other. Took me a few minutes at most to get them in though.

Other Thoughts: - Check the compatibility list. It's pretty comprehensive for each cooler and it will state whether something will work with quirks or not at all. They won't sell you something that won't work for you motherboard.

- Even if it's compatible, you NEED to make sure the case has enough room. It's not a small heatsink by any means and to be quite frank, it's your own dumb fault if you don't do the measurements. No high-end aftermarket air-based CPU fan is that small for you not to do this in the first place.

- I run an AMD FX-8350 in a CoolerMaster HAF 932 A. This thing idles at 29~31C and maxes out at 49~54C. The variance often depends on room temperature. This thing is an absolute BEAST at cooling and puts out near half (or probably less) the noise the stock fan did.

- Don't use the LNA. The fan idles at the same RPM without it. All it does is slow the fan down when there's a load to handle. I don't know why you'd want that... the fan is still really quiet under loads to the point I can sleep with it while I'm stress testing the computer while its next to my bed. Why this enthuses people to be even more quiet is beyond me, especially when it potentially lowers the lifespan of your hardware.

- I feel like an idiot for using a stock cooler for over a year...

- Bought on accident (through another vendor) thinking I had bought a D15, the newest of the Noctua series... can't say I'm disappointed though. Perhaps for the better.

5 out of 5 eggsFX-8350 at 4.7Ghz and cold :)

Pros: Decided to see the processors true potential coupled with the Sabertooth 990FX's overclocking ability and wow this really is the perfect match. As well, like most people say this fan at max speed is in-audible, and moves good amounts of air.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Make sure that your computer doesn't make too much vibration as the metal fins on this heatsink make a small sound, like their tapping each other.
Idle: 95-98F/36C-38C
load (Games, Programs, etc.) 113F-122F/45C-50C
load under prime95 after 3-5 hours: 140F-148F/60-65C
ambient temp: 24C-26C/76F-79F
Other specs:
Motherboard: Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
CPU: FX-8350 at 4.7Ghz
GPU: XFX Black Edition R9 280X soon to be replace by an MSI R9 280X 6GB Vram :)
RAM: 1x8gb AMD Radeon memory at 1600mhz and manually input timings
