5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Heatsink!

Pros: This beast keeps my AMD-FX8320 at 30° C under load and usually around 13°C idle. The highest it has ever gone is 52°C.

Keep in mind I did not overclock, although if I did then this thing could handle it without breaking a sweat.

It fit perfectly inside my Corsair 230T case and it looks really BA!

I have not heard the fan once! It is completely silent!

Cons: It's massive! Won't fit it some smaller cases so be careful.

Other Thoughts: Some people hate the noctua fan colors, but they grow on you if you give it a chance.... or you can just buy the new colored fans that came out.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy if you're mounting your motherboard horizontally.

Pros: Great reviews, looks nice, high quality fan, superior cooling performance, innovative features, nice mounting solution.

Cons: I really wanted to love this HSF. It fits great in the Fractal Node 304, and it even looks like it will work with two fans in push/pull, along with another 140mm fan behind it. The problem is that this heatsink rattles badly when the board is in the horizontal orientation. I thought I was crazy but I Googled this and came up with other people reporting the same problem. Sadly I have to return it because the rattle is really annoying.

5 out of 5 eggsworth the money

Pros: cool, quiet, well built, mounts solid, fits in the case

Cons: big and heavy, but that's to be expected

Other Thoughts: for efficient air cooling, a great choice. beats the stock cooler in performance and noise

5 out of 5 eggsTop of the Line Quiet Heatsink

Pros: Not gigantic like the dual towers. Still big, but in another way.
Better than liquid cooling kits at similar or higher price range.
Quiet and cools well.
Great mounting system. Also simple and not a hassle. Instructions are fairly clear.
Does not block memory slots.
Good amount of accessories and includes a very good thermal paste that is better than most. Even includes a screwdriver!

Cons: Color Scheme (Some may mind, I didn't)
Blocks first PCI Slot - Had to move my sound card to a lower slot.

Other Thoughts: Packaging includes support for a second fan, but does not include the second fan itself.
With small FFT Prime95 running, I had 4770k at 4.2 GHz at 1.22v (Have yet to trim the voltage). It ran hot at 90+ C, but on normal loads like gaming, it runs well under 65C.

5 out of 5 eggsBig cooler with bigger cooling

Pros: Great cooling with low fan speeds

Cons: -Huge! Make sure you have room for this monster in your case.
-Fan color scheme is early eighties--brown doesn't fit my build style -much.

Other Thoughts: This fan has been installed and running for six months; has been ultra-quiet and provided consistently cool temperatures (below 40ºC) on my slightly overclocked i5-4670k (4.2 MHz).

5 out of 5 eggsAmazingly Cool and Quiet

Pros: It's quiet and keeps my AMD FX 8350 nice and cool.
I would even compare this to a closed loop water cooling solution.

Cons: It is big. But I knew that when I bought it.

Other Thoughts: Just barely fit inside an Antec 900-2 case without any modifications.
Corsair dominator Ram fits just fine if using the outside slots, but looks like the inside slots would fit too but would be very tight. However, the fan can be moved to the other side of the heat sink and then you'd have plenty of room for all your ram.
No issue with Video card clearance, plenty of room for me on a Sabertooth 990 motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsIt keeps things cool

Pros: High quality heatsink with just about the very best 14 cm fan on the market. An outstanding cooler, outperforming most 'kit' water coolers. Easy to install, even though this thing is huge.

Cons: Size. Only could mount it 'horizontal', since otherwise I wouldn't be able to use the main PCI-16 slot of my motherboard. Not a major issue to me, since it's performance is hardly affected in my opinion

5 out of 5 eggsNoctua Quiet and Efficient

Pros: We chose the downward-firing version of this cooler for our vintage Core i7-965 Extreme Edition because the components surrounding the cpu socket benefit from having some air blow across them. The ol' 965 is a 130-watt heat monster, yet the Noctua maintains idle temps. of 32-36 deg. C. and peak temps. while gaming for a hour or more never exceed 64 deg. C. It manages this while running at only 900rpm (using the speed step-down option), and it's so quiet we use the system as a home theater PC. This result is achieved with 1 x 120mm front intake fan and 1 x 120mm rear exhaust fan, both running at a quiet 700rpm. The model on this page - NH-U14S - is about 2 deg. C. more effective due to the fact that it blows directly towards either the rear exhaust or top exhaust vent (instead of blowing downwards like our C14 version).

Cons: none except price!

Other Thoughts: n/a
