The NF-A14 is a premium quality quiet 140mm fan with a square frame that complies with Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) standard. Its square shape and 140mm mounting holes (124.5mm spacing) make it ideal for use on watercooling radiators or as an upgrade for 140mm case fans. Featuring sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A14 further improves the renowned quiet cooling performance of the award-winning NF-P14. The PWM version sports Noctua's custom designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control via 4-pin fan headers and comes with a Low-Noise-Adaptor to reduce the maximum speed during PWM control from 1500rpm to 1200rpm. Its performance-oriented 1500rpm top speed and comprehensive speed control options make the NF-A14 PWM an elite choice for users who strive to strike a perfect balance between excellent cooling capacity and superb quietness of operation, be it on watercooling radiators, on heatsinks or in case ventilation.

5 out of 5 eggsSilence is golden

Pros: Sound level, cooling capacity

Cons: Price, color

Other Thoughts: Got this to replace a stock case fan in a Corsair 250D case. Not that the corsair fan was loud, but it was audible, as I sit about 2 feet from the case.

After installing the noctua fan - I can't hear it even when it's running. I have to put my ear up close to the case to hear it. Drastic drop in fan noise compared to the stock fan. A quick stress test showed no difference in cooling capacity compared to the stock fan. However - the stock fan did have a fan grill on the exhaust side, which the Noctua doesn't. Fan grills can contribute to noise, however, the difference in noise between the stock and noctua is so great I doubt the grill is the difference.

Considering it's "just a fan" it is expensive, however silence is golden, as they say.
Only other bad thing is the color, but for me that isn't really an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsI was a sceptic. Not any more.

Pros: I bought a NF-A14 and a NF-F12, to use in my open case desktop computer, it literally is on my desk top, next to my monitor. The 140mm is used as a top of case exhaust and is only 30 inches from my ear. At idle speeds and not using the voltage reducer it "seems" to be silent, The 120mm, which is used as the rear exhaust, I can't hear at any time. Both are PWM controlled. Also they move as much or more air than the fans they replaced.

Playing Farcry 3 on ultra I can hear the 140mm but it's not nearly as loud or offensive as the fan it replaced. The tone is much more acceptable and pleasing than any other fans I have heard. Remember, I am not using the voltage reducer.

I was Very skeptical about these fans and their high price but they are the best I have used and I would definitely buy again.

So over all even if you can hear them they seem to fade into the distance and you just do not notice them. Sweeeet!

Cons: The price, but they deliver so you do get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is the best as it is almost always.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Comes with a Y splitter cable, an extension cable, and a cable that reduces the voltage to the fan for quiet operation.
Nice sleeved cables.
I can't hear a thing at full fan speed with the low voltage cables attached from the two fans on my radiator.

Cons: Expensive.

Other Thoughts: I got these because Linus told me to.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best

Pros: Great air flow, beyond awesome cable connection selection. Very happy with these fans.

Cons: only thing is color, well worth the cost as you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 different size fan from Noctura and the 14S CPU cooler from them and I am exceptionally happy with them.

5 out of 5 eggsone fan to rule them all

Pros: these fans move soo much air, but the insane thing is how quiet they are!!! i plugged in a "standard" 120mm fan, and even with 6 of these bad boys in my case, the 120mm was all that i could hear!!
i have used so many fans i've lost count: noctua quality is unparalleled.

Cons: still not convinced with the colour. would love a black/white fan to match my 780T.

Other Thoughts: these are the only fans i use.
am not sure there's a huge difference in performance on a heatsink between the 140mm and the 120mm.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet at lower speeds

Pros: Quiet at lower fan speeds

Cons: Not a fan of the color scheme
At 100% it is noisier than I expected

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these to use on my Corsair H110 water cooler since I read the stock fans were noisy. At 100% the H110 stock fans were actually a little quitter than the Noctua NF-A14 and seemed to push a little more air. At lower speeds Noctua was much quieter.

5 out of 5 eggsNoctua Always

Pros: As always with Noctua and Newegg both cannont be praised more. The pwm fans can be run silent with great airflow, the only brand of fans that I will use in a build. I use them for case fans and radiator fans and have never had a problem with and Noctua product that includes fans as well as cpu coolers. Noctua provides all of the needed accessories in the package to reduce fan speed, extend cable length, split fan connections, screws and rubber isolation mounts what more could you want. Oops !!! I spoke too soon, I just received a 80mm pwm fan and see my upcoming post about this 80mm pwm fan that will have to be Rma ed. I am suprized for the very first time I have had a problem with a Noctua product. The post will be under Noctua 80mm fan in a day or two I have a build to finish first..Aloha from Maui

5 out of 5 eggsNoctua NF-A14 PWM 140 Case Fan

Pros: These fans surprised me with their powerful static pressure; just the two of them made my case REALLY positive pressure. I think I will add two more to balance negative pressure.

Cons: Hmmm.....the color or lack of; however they are the best at what they do.
