3 out of 5 eggsToo loud!

Pros: I know PWM's get loud, but this is a whole other ballpark in the noise ratio! CFM is nice but the noise is unbearable, threw it out the window without remorse.

Cons: I want my money back! LOL!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Fan

Pros: Clear with 4 holes for LED's if you want to light it up. Super easy to install, rubber mounts are good quality and don't break even when really stretching them. Cable is sleeved in mesh and has heat shrink on both ends. Fan runs smooth @ 500 ~ 2000 RPM and is silent.

Cons: Can't add anything here. Well Done Nexus!

Other Thoughts: Shipped with Newegg saver and it took ten days to arrive. I was beginning to think FedEx lost them. Finally they arrived and I could finish my build.

2 out of 5 eggsNG at Low Speed

Pros: Moves air

Cons: Mine has the chirping sound at low speed like MrPogi's review states below. Mine is running at around 800-900 rpm. I guess the sound goes away at higher speeds like MrPogi indicated, but that doesn't do me any good when I'm using very little system resources surfing/emailing/etc and the bios chooses to run the fan at low speed. It should be the most quiet during times like that, but it just has that annoying whistle. I know the sound is in the electronics, since I can still hear it when I stop the fan with my finger. Maybe the electromagnets are oscillating from the pwm.

Other Thoughts: I seem to remember there may have been a setting in Speedfan that got rid of the noise, but I stopped using Speedfan and gave up on this fan long ago. Lots of people seem to like this fan so maybe it is just not compatible with the pwm circuit on my mobo (ga-ex38-ds4), although I've got another brand of pwm fan running happily at the same speed without any noise.

5 out of 5 eggsWhisper Quiet

Pros: Very quiet. Goes up to 1800rpm+ off of the pwm header. Probably full speed using direct psu power source.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great fan

5 out of 5 eggsSHHH......

Pros: These are very good fans. I have then installed on 2 CM 212 EVOs, 3 Zalman's and 1 thermaltake water coolers. All in push-pull configuration. These are much quieter than the fans that came with the coolers and can be set at lower speeds than most of the others.

Cons: If I ever find one I'll be back.

1 out of 5 eggsRevised Review

Pros: Operates in PWM mode.

Cons: I had to revise my review. This fan produces a faint but annoying chirping sound when operating in low speeds which defeats the purpose of a quiet PWM fan.

In addition, it cannot really go down to 500 RPM. The lowest speed that it achieved is 1012 RPM. It could have been quiet at that speed, but the chirping is annoying.

At maximum speeds, it sounds like a regular bossy fan.

Other Thoughts: In my first review, I thought that it was a winner. A couple of days later, the fan proved me wrong.

4 out of 5 eggsNice and Quiet

Pros: Nice airflow, PWM, quiet enough. Rubber mounting. Better acoustics and airflow than stock.

Cons: Couldn't achieve the advertised RPM range of 500-2000. Instead, it goes from 1062-1900. Still quiet at the lowest speed though. Rubber fan mounts come in gaudy color of purple.

Other Thoughts: Working well as a case exhaust fan.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet but not that quiet

Pros: Fairly quiet.
PWM let's me use it as a cpu fan - but really, you already knew this.

Cons: Just in comparison to other Nexus fans that I've owned, this one seems to make a little more noise.

Other Thoughts: The other Nexus fans I've owned have been near silent. This one is not. I can hear it, even when my fan is at 30%. This could be due to the fact that it's pulling air over a heatsink with a lot of fins, which give more surface area for the air to make noise, but since the other nexus fan I have is literally silent, I was hoping for something a little better. All in all though, much quieter than the stock fan that came with my heatsink.
