3 out of 5 eggsFan works, LED defective

Pros: Fan works well and is relatively quiet.

Cons: Not even 2 months after installing this into my case, one of the LEDs is blinking on and off intermittently. Newegg doesn't support RMA returns on this for very long so you have to go through the hassle of contacting the company itself.

5 out of 5 eggsMy new favorite computer fans!

Pros: looks amazing, works VERY well, both the airflow and static pressure are incredibly impressive, is indeed super quiet and only half as thick as standard fans

Cons: not the cheapest fans there are

Other Thoughts: Gelid is my new favorite of computer fans! I never bought them before because of the price, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for. The static pressure is very impressive, and a lot of "radiator optimized" fans don't even match it! I will be trying out all of Gelid's series and size of fans, because I am just so impressed with this one!

5 out of 5 eggsI want a skinnier fan for my case cover

Pros: When selecting a fan for my case cover, I wanted to find the most svelte fan design. Yeah, I want a fan that fits tight and close to the cover; I want a fan that it doesn't bang into the case while I'm removing the cover. This baby provides just what I'm looking for! The OFF switch keeps the fan from becoming visible. A four-pin PWM connector means precise control over a fan's speed. Quiet operation, yah!

Cons: All my other fans have solid-orange blades, so the clear-blue blades don't quite coordinate, color-wise.

Other Thoughts: I recommend that buyers consider installing this fan on their case cover because of its thinness. The fan barely intrudes into a computer's enclosure and the fan doesn't bang against the enclosure whenever I remove the cover.

I prefer a darkened computer case. If this little blue-LED fan didn't have an OFF light switch, I would not have chosen it... so I must thank the manufacturer for installing that nice little OFF light switch. I wish more fan manufacturers would simply install OFF light switches on their high-end fans. Congrats to the manufacturer for making this good design choice.

I can only hear the fan when my computer boots up (all the fans rev up to a medium-speed before idling down to their starting operational speed). Quiet whisper-like operation all the time; no clicking noises are allowed in my computer! Don't you just love 4-pin fans and the precision pulse width modulation?

3 out of 5 eggsGood Fan, Fit where I needed it too!

Pros: Slim Fan, which is good for mounting in odd case Locations.

I needed this fan for the air intake on the side of my case. The location of my side air intake, combined with my H80i water cooler, means a standard 25mm deep fan will not fit without hitting the side of the water cooler radiator and pushing the side of my case out.

If I felt I needed it, I could buy a second one of these and mount behind my motherboard, since it would fit, however all the chassis fan controls on my motherboard are used....

Cons: DOES NOT indicate airflow direction as 99.9% of all cooling fans do! This was a minor inconvenience as I had to install the fan, turn the system on and then use a piece of paper to determine airflow direction.

You would think for $17 they could put some directional arrows on it. All the $7 dollar fans do!

Other Thoughts: I don't know if this is system related or fan related, but when I first booted into Windows my Motherboard monitoring software told me it was only running at 250 RPM. I had to go into my Motherboard software and disable the automatic function for this fan and manually adjust the RPM to get it up to the 1000-1200 RPM I would expect from this type of fan.

For the record my Motherboard is an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Rev 2.0

1 out of 5 eggsGELID Bad customer/warranty service

Pros: Solved a space problem by being slim.

Cons: Started to make noise within 2 - 3 weeks

Other Thoughts: I bought this last summer, finally got around to install it over Christmas break. Fan started to make noise, contacted GELID for warranty service who referred me to someone else who had some ridiculous procedure in place to get this < $20 fan replaced which was totally out of line for a product of this price given the time and cost involved to jump through their hoops. Clearly designed to discourage any warranty service.

Just based on that I would never buy or recommend another product from GELID given this horrible lack of service/standing behind their product.

Just for comparison, the 200 mm fan in my Antec Mini P180 Case went bad w/i 6 month, all they asked for was a copy of my invoice and they sent me a replacement fan, didn't even ask for the defective fan to be sent back. And that fan cost more than the GELID.

2 out of 5 eggsnot that quiet, esp after 1 month ...

Pros: It's slim, I bought it to replace the original Gelid fan that came with my GELID Tranquillo CC-TranQ-01-A 120mm Hydro Dynamic CPU Cooler. The width of the original fan prevented me from installing more RAM. The slimmer fan solves this.

Cons: I installed this fan about a month ago, unfortunately, it's not as quiet as I had hoped. Especially when the fan is running at higher speeds it's making quite a clear regular clicking sound that make me think the bearings are perhaps failing. I custom-built a *quiet* PC, not currently the case with this fan. The fan is still under warranty, so hopefully the replacement (I just contacted Gelid) will live up to expectations, otherwise I'll have to look for a quiet slim fan elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: The mounting hardware wasn't the same used as on the GELID Tranquillo CC-TranQ-01-A, so I had to improvise.
Also, there's no indication on the rotation/airflow direction, seems like a needless omission that just adds one more thing to worry about when installing it.

3 out of 5 eggsCan't be used as Intake Fan

Pros: Pretty light. Noisless at idle speed (I haven't tried it under a load.)

Cons: For some reason Gelid has drilled out the screw holes on one side of the fan. This means that you can't mistakenly install it facing the wrong way. IF you're installing an exhaust fan. If you want to use this as an Intake fan, you'll have to find some fatter screws (than what comes in the box) somewhere. I have boxes of screws from my many builds. I don't have anything that fits. Therefore I can't use this fan - as an intake fan. I bought two of these to use as front case fans. Since I can't use them for that purpose I took off 2 eggs.

Other Thoughts: One reviewer mentioned that he didn't think it was slim enough. It's definitely a lot slimmer than the regular Gelid that I use. I measure it at 16 mm. I measure the regular fan at 26 mm.
As another reviewer mentioned - Would it kill you to put on an arrow showing airflow direction. (My Gelid FN-PX12-15's do have arrows)
