5 out of 5 eggsSent from heaven.

Pros: I'm using a DL180 G6 as my homelab NAS. (Overkill? Impossible) Anyways, HP is notorious for proprietary parts. In this server the default fans (4) are EXTREMELY loud. I mean they idle ~70dBa. Very loud. Could hear them through 3 doors. When you replace a fan in this server the power manager looks not only at RPM but at amperage as well. These are the only consumer grade fans that I could find that met both the RPM and current needs for the power manager on the motherboard to be happy. (The server will stop/error on POST with fans that don't meet spec)

At full speed these fans are half as loud as the HP fans are at normal operations. Aaaaaand they push plenty of air. Thank you Delta you saved my hearing and sanity!

Cons: These are still louder than a fan you'd want in the same room you sleep in.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat and LOUD

Pros: Great cooling capacity. Clearly moves a lot of air. No problems mainboarding it yet.

Cons: LOUD - and again - LOUD. You can see the specs on the page. So please inform yourself with all available information.

Other Thoughts: Please remember that just because you are in an office that is 47.5 dBA or louder does not mean that you know how loud that is. There is 47.5dBA coming out of your computer, one tiny place. It's a lot more annoying than you can imagine if it is near you. I knew this and didn't mind since the fan is used in a secluded place.
